What about "get xpees lol"? Or "a"? What cryptic messages are they trying to convey?
[/ QUOTE ]
A desire for a GM to review their arc?
I'm definitely a reader, except for character descriptions, and that's only because my weak machine will lock up if I open those windows about half the time.I put in everything I can, but try to keep the main-storylines to the clues.
This thread has given me several "food for thought" moments, though. Many good ideas here. -
Definitely WANT, though. One of the first I went looking for in the Open Beta.
-
I hear spaces can make the custom group name look similar enough to pass as each other, but I in no way have confirmation of this. But it's worth a try until someone comes along and says it doesn't work (or you find out yourself).
-
To add, I haven't gotten any of the newer pay-packs, and I don't have any available at the MA for tickets or otherwise. I think those are the only ones affected by your actual costume status.
EDIT: Maybe Vet Rewards, too? I have no way of checking that. -
I don't know if that's it. The CoV Breakout map (or, actually, the later one, not the actual one from Breakout) has an indoor area and it works fine.
-
Why does everyone DEMAND the devs give us such information, when the likeliest answer is "We don't know yet. It'll be done when we can get around to it"? It's not like the devs were previously giving us a blow by blow narrative of what they're doing and NOW suddenly "clammed up". I've found from previous jobs (not computer game related) that documenting things and making sure everyone is informed often takes up time that could more productively be spent working.
-
That won't help. As stated above, you can't buy SOs before 22, just like at the stores.
-
By the same token, if she has the same AI as in the game, you may not WANT her to be your ally.
-
Oh, but still a neat idea, though.
**gets out notebook** -
What you do is when you're in editing, you can "drag and drop" the second (or third, etc.) mission to the first position and test it right off the bat. Hardly anyone knows this is possible without someone telling them (including me). It's very unobvious.
Just don't forget to put it back. -

.but they're already working on buffing all lieutenants on test to have ranged attacks.
[/ QUOTE ]
Done deal. Not just lts, though. Everyone. Each power set has at least one ranged attack now. And the patch went to live...yesterday? Day before? I forget. -
Homer?
All work and no beer make Homer something something... -

Agreed.

And on the 50 note, it took me over 800 hours to get Dec there, but I did spend a lot of time standing around BSing in various locations. -

This seems like a very selfish argument. "I don't want you to farm because then you're not filling spots on MY team doing what I want!"
[/ QUOTE ]
It's not a selfish argument because before MA, you were, in fact filling out my team. There was a middle ground where people farmed, but most people just played. And I'll guess you were in the "just play" group...which meant you teamed with me, and roleplayers, and noobs and (probably) someone's mom.
That doesn't happen now. The balance has shifted to farming, and the fence sitters (people who "just play") have gone to farming and that's about 75-80% of the population.
[/ QUOTE ]
Your argument IS selfish, as you want someone to not be able to do what they want so they will come and play with YOU. I find that's absurd, and I'm on Posi's side of this. There's plenty of other reasons to be against farming and PLing than that it affects people wanting to team with you personally. That's just sour grapes. -
Which is exactly why they don't enumerate the rules. Technically, "illegal" is anything they've decided they want stopped. And in MA, they've ALWAYS said (release notes) they can pull arcs for any reason, and that they can do the same to any mission with "unintended benefits", which is exactly what PLing is, or its maker. Posi's not making new rules, he's just saying "the party's over" and indicating enforcement to come. If you want to discuss "legality" for your toon that went from 1-50 in a few hours, you're welcome to talk to them about it. Good freakin' luck.
-
You don't lose your rating if you edit the published arc and republish. You only lose your rating if you unpublish it, then publish it again from your local copy.

I've had 48 plays and 37 ratings. It's been up about two weeks.
[/ QUOTE ]
Dec, how do you figure out the number of plays and the number of ratings? I can see that I have a 4 star rating and the number 86 besides it, which I assume is the number of players. But how do you distinguish between plays and ratings?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, those are your ratings. There's a badge for amount of plays under the Mission Architect section that tells you progress on mouse-over. -
Separate note, if the menu comes up and it has none of those features listed, that means that field does not accept them.
-
My argument was fallacious? My argument against removing the buildings from the zones and putting it only in Pocket D or its own similar zone? Or the OPs?
I actually agree with your statement, but that isn't what was on the table.
EDIT: Wait. You mean cram it all in one zone and have the buildings just be entrances to the zone? Uh, no. You think it's crowded NOW.... -
And one you're unlikely to see. If they'd wanted it "hidden" in Pocket D, I'm sure they've have just put it there. They want it visible, in many zones. You'll just have to learn to accept that, or continue tilting at windmills.
-
Hmmm...I've had 48 plays and 37 ratings. It's been up about two weeks.
Maybe farming isn't the reason you're not getting plays, especially since there's about a million and a half other possibilities. -

Worked for Tom Sawyer. I am surprised that more elements of the publishing business don't make their slush piles available via the internet. Somewhere out there there are people that will pay to read through every bad science fiction story ever sent to analog, every would be Doc Smiths space opera, every would be George O Smiths gadget yarn, well you get the idea.
[/ QUOTE ]
That there are a lot of Smiths? Yes. -

If they can do it, then why can't I?
[/ QUOTE ]Precedence is not justification.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's not an answer.
Why is it a bad thing to have my character hand out a mission, something she's not suited to deal with? Or got in over her head and needs rescuing? Or has a problem that she cant handle that she has to bring in an outside consultant?
[/ QUOTE ]
It's not. Only if they're taking center stage away from the players, which it's easy to do everything you said and still avoid. Characters are just characters. In fact, if you're using customs, those are "your characters", too. So would it be said that we shouldn't use customs at all either? "Mary Sue"-ism is pretty well-defined and I could see a problem with that, but cliches work or don't work due to execution. A cliche's very existence in a work would not be something to knock points down for, I think. -

the brief it say the PPD have someone "on the lookout" for me? who? the PPD? kind of awkward sentence...
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, the contact tells you that the PPD say that "they" (the Cutting Crew) have someone watching. Too ambiguous a "they", probably. I'll look into a rewrite. Thanks!

ok this is a really good arc. i enjoyed it immensely. sometimes i will just run through one to see what they do and skip to the critical junctures. but i love your custom toons, they were fun to fight. they look great and i like their powers combos. this would be a great arc to run with a large team. it is possible that the descriptions give away too much, but that is me since i like mystery on first contact with an unknown enemy. that is something very rare. not quite sure what it was, but they were very definitely interesting.
i took your arc with my level 30 blaster, AR/dev, and there not much trouble. i love the little ambush, took me by complete surprise but it fit beautifully into the story.
this arc looks cleaned up and well edited. it was fun to play and i thought maps were well chosen too. they is not much i can say in criticism, i can only praise it. nice job.
this arc gets the Ridiculous Seal of Approval! (TM)
[/ QUOTE ]
Why, thank you very much! I have changed quite a few things due to feedback, and I really think it IS sharpening it up some. Still little bits to deal with, but I always consider it an ongoing process. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
**now feels guilty and runs off to do your arc like I promised**
