Disintegrate is the key power of Beam Rifle, so yes it's "worth keeping".
I don't think "weaker version of the power" is quite right, what happens is that enemies hit by spread have the Disintegrating* status effect attached to them, then when you hit them with your other powers you get additional effects like extra damage (most of the other powers), -Regen in the case of Single Shot, etc. I think enemies that got spread can also spread to others, but only to those who aren't Disintegrating yet. So if you have a mob of 3 enemies, hit Disintegrate on one, then hit him with a power that causes spread to the other two, then try to get spread from one of the other two, it won't work because all 3 are currently Disintegrating.
Disintegration Spread is where the bulk of your AoE is going to come from, and the extra DoT you get from it is, well extra damage, which is delicious with Scourge.
*I'm starting to hate Beam Rifle just because of how hard it is for me to type this word. Thankfully everything else about the set makes me love it. -

Quote:Easy out: your character is being mind-controlled or otherwise manipulating into committing evil deeds. They eventually break free and cross back over. This is what will keep me from getting all the badges on my main character. I have slowly worked on getting them over the years, not farming, just trying to get them. And now I can't get them all because the character is a hardcore hero. I ran one Vigilante mission for that badge and it felt dirty.
Which means starting over on a different character and the next highest to my main's 870 only has 218. I just don't know if I can handle the Invention badges again.

Still, it could be worse. At least everyone isn't duckface.

From personal experience, I'm able to run two instances on a Radeon 5570 with /maxinactivefps set in-game, although oddly if I set it in the launcher both instances become horribly unstable and won't stay open long enough for me to do anything, so YMMV.

Quote:He may have done this in Ultimate as another poster said but he's never managed to do it in 616 -- as a man who has only marginal control over his emotions, Banner/Hulk is way too mentally unstable to be considered worthy. (And frankly I don't count Ultimate for any discussion about anything Marvel unless specifically pertaining to the Ultimate universe.)Thors hammer has been picked up by both Hulk, Cap and Beta Ray Bill..
Hulk had the sheer strength to lift Thors hammer. Theoretically someone in Marvel COULD lift Thors Hammer if strong enough. As someone else pointed out in the Marvel game, Thors strength was listed as Unearthly. Hulk is also Unearthly ( meaning able to lift 100 tons with relative ease ).. However Hulk when made enough could go into Shift X. Y and Z.. Z was considered by Marvel terms to have the ability to lift over 500 tons.. A very angry Hulk as we all know get massive strength boosts.. Hulk basically through sheer strength overrode the protection spell placed on the hammer
Wikipedia (naturally) has a list of those who have wielded Mjolnir. Apparently Spider-Man 2099 was able to lift it at one point, which means physical strength is irrelevant (not to mention Donald Blake, who was an ordinary human but still deemed worthy). -
Hulk has been physically wounded quite a few times (a notable example being any time he's fought Wolverine, even with bone claws), it just takes a lot to do it, and he heals from it pretty quickly.

The Destroyer from Thor is invincible, unless you count disabling its controller as a weakness.

Quote:Then you misinterpreted me because that's not what I meant. I'm also not really sure how build choices might limit someone on a Speed Run unless they happened to not take a travel power, in which case someone will probably have Recall Friend or ATT and it's not a big dealThe quote was
So it doesn't seem the context is limited to the lazy, but also includes those incapable of keeping up due to build limitations and choices. This idea that you were only justifying anger at the lazy seems to be backpedaling.
Look, this is what I was trying to say: You join a clearly-stated Speed TF. The rest of the team races to the AV, while you slowly work through mobs at the start of the map. You're not lagging behind because of power choices or because you didn't know it was a Speed Run (unless you missed the announcement somehow), you're just working against the rest of the team at that point. Once you get to the point where the rest of the team has asked you to join them at the AV and you don't, it's time for a kickin',
Quote:It's not identical, but it stems from the same root cause. Once you reach a critical mass of the power players, it becomes the assumption that everything is done the speediest way possible and to hell with the scattered remains of those that couldn't keep up. When you have to specifically announce while recruiting that you aren't zipping invisibly and bulletproof past 90% of the missions, then the game doesn't appear inviting to those not capable of doing that.
The team has a leader for a reason. If you're not at least making an effort to contribute to what the rest of the team is doing, you don't belong on the team. Simple math. (Caveat: This does not apply to Scrapperlock or BROOT SMASH. There's no stopping either of those forces.) -
Quote:They don't store it for badges, or they didn't used to anyway. When they added "Most Recent Badges", it only worked on badges you earned after the feature was activated. I believe the badges you had earned recently prior to the feature being activated, showed an Earned date of the day the feature was activated. So this feature would not work on characters created prior to Issue 13. (We also don't know if the timestamp data is maintained for badges earned now once they fall off the MRB list, although one assumes it is.)I wonder if they keep timestamps on ANY data? If so, they could potentially extrapolate a create date ( or something very close ). For example, if they stored a timestamp on badges, you could get the earliest date.
I could have worded that less confusingly. -
You left out The Battalion, who may turn out to be the Coming Storm.

Quote:Someone needs to start a Ghostbusters-inspired Beam Rifle/Traps (or vice versa) superteam.I get a kick out of teaming with one or more additional Beamers. When you both hit the same target (not always coordinated...just happens) I swear it looks like a scene right out of Ghostbusters or Star Trek as both beams tag the critter.
The extra disintegration spread is just icing on the cake. Visuals are outstanding.
Don't cross the streams? Please....do it and do it frequently! -

Quote:This doesn't work because no matter how clear you try to make it, there's always going to be people who won't get "these are just ideas", and they will be the loudest in complaining when the live product does not match what they thought it would be.4.) Have a bit more dialog with the players. You guys are the expert at keeping things a secret to build up suspense with only letting little bits of infomation slip. However this isn't always the best way of advertising and keeping a solid player base. Whilst you need the suspence for some elements of the game, you also need open communication for others.
Watching a video of Zwill the other say, a PvP question was asked and he simply said "We have plans for PvP but we are not ready to talk about them yet." This is not the best way to keep players interest and it does not help you guys in anyway either. We don't want you to tell us every little plan, but it would be great if you would engage with us and tell us some of the ideas floating around. Even if they are changed and do not make it into the game (you would make that very clear from the start) you have at least shown us that you really are serious about working with the issue, aswell as respect the opinions of the players.
If you want an example, you need look no farther than the new Paragon Market. We already have people complaining that the prices in Beta don't match what the prices are Live, imagine what would happen if the devs said "we have ideas A, B and C for PvP" only for those plans to go Live as X, Y and Z.
I also suspect that what the devs are allowed to post about is completely out of their hands and dictated partly or entirely by marketing. I wouldn't be at all surprised if game-related posts had to be approved before they could be posted. -
Quote:Because if you know it's a speed run and you're lagging significantly behind (i.e., the rest of the team is already at the AV and you're making your way there v e r y s l o w l y for no apparent reason besides laziness or ineptitude), then that's annoying. Note that this is not the same scenario as someone who going into a speed run stating "I've never done one of these before", they can be excused for being on the slow side.If you're napping by the door, then sure, people can get pissed, but what is "rightly so" about getting bothered by someone moving as quickly as they are able to?
And as for not doing speed runs, I would love to see what a non-speed eden looks like. Never seen one. Ran 8 when it was WTF, and not a single one was non-speed.
You can get a non-speed ITF because it's so good for farming shards, but much of the game is to the point where if you can't zip past an army of enemies at X8, then you need not apply.
I've had people get pissed that I didn't run a speed TF. Apparently "we can take a straight path to the end, but I'm going to attack everything I see" is anathema in the game.
Oh, and that last part was on pinnacle and it was formed using pinnbadges and cozmic's.
Also I never said Pinnacle was devoid of any stupid people (far FAR from it), but grumbling about a TF not being a speed run is not the same as kicking people for not having IOs, which is the point I was making. -

I was just thinking that if there's any place I'd like to see the two finally settle things and let it go, it would be on Conan. Takei was recently on the show for a bit, and Shatner has appeared on all 3 of Conan's shows.

SCR + I don't see the devs ever giving us the opportunity to (start) solo content that is specifically designed to only be attempted by teams, regardless of whether or not it can be soloed.
Just because they can sell something doesn't mean they will (or necessarily should). -
Quote:It was also directly lifted from Stephen Colbert, so it's not even a creative joke.I guess I just can't endorse anything that came from an April Fools Day joke or smells even a little like an Internet meme.

Quote:It was actually glass from the window of his ship that he fashioned into lenses, and that gives him super-hypnotism or something.I remember somewhere, that the reason why nobody can recognize clark kent as superman is because he uses clear kryptonite as lenses and it's supposed to make him look different, althought I don't remember where that was from.
As you might guess, this "explanation" dates back to the 50s. -
Why should the bulk of the story involve the trip to Nevada? We already saw that part at the beginning of the season. It's probably near the end of the episode.
