Durable/Invulnerable/Invincible in comics

I was daydreaming today about this and came up with some examples.

Durable: Not invulnerable, but I can still take a lot of punishment before I go down.

Examples: Spider-Man, Wonder Woman, Luke Cage, Wolverine, Captain America, trained martial artists through body control (Batman, Iron Fist, Shang Chi, et al)

Invulnerable: With a few exceptions, most forms of attack can't hurt me

Examples: Superman, Thor, Doomsday, Juggernaut (here only due to psi weakness), Plastic Man, The Hulk

Invincible:
Throw whatever you like at me.....I absolutely cannot be injured.

Examples: The Saint Of Killers was the only example I came up with at the moment

How does that look? Any other additions?

The Destroyer from Thor is invincible, unless you count disabling its controller as a weakness.

I think the Saint of Killers could probably be killed with his own guns.

Also, ironically enough, Invincible should be included in the invulnerable section. >.>

As should the invincible Iron Man, depending on who's writing him and how much or little the current plotline needs him to get beaten up by Stilt-Man. (Seriously, has any other major superhero's durability level ever varied as wildly and arbitrarily as Iron Man's? I'm talking about within storylines involving only one model of his suit, too. Sometimes he's going toe to toe with Thor, sometimes he's losing fights to a guy wearing an earlier model of his own armor. Mind-boggling.)

Flip side, I would normally think of the Hulk as invincible by this list's standards. Unless, again, there's some arbitrary need for him to get punched out by the Thing, he's pretty well indestructible.

Other flip side, original-formula Superman (before he could fly) was only durable.

Hulk has been physically wounded quite a few times (a notable example being any time he's fought Wolverine, even with bone claws), it just takes a lot to do it, and he heals from it pretty quickly.

Maybe we need another category for "you can hurt me, but it's not actually going to make any difference." Wolverine could move there from Durable.

("Hulk get knocked down, but Hulk get up again. Puny humans never going to keep Hulk down.")

Invincible - Cosmic level beings. I mean, can you hurt Galactus? The Watcher?

Invulnerable would probably take most of 'em though... I can't think of any Invinicble guys who have their own comic, because where's the drama?

Thanks for eight fun years, Paragon.

I would move Luke Cage from durable to invulnerable. Skin with the durability of Titanium make him more than durable.

"Samual_Tow - Be disappointed all you want, people. You just don't appreciate the miracles that are taking place here."

There are very few characters in comics that are totally impervious to harm. Like the Punisher says, "There no such thing as bullet proof, you just need the right bullet."

Actually Invincible doesn't mean you can't be injured. It just means that, even if they injure you, you're still going to keep going.

Think "The Crow", Lobo, Mr. Immortal, etc. You can blow holes in him. You can chop parts off him. You can render him down to ash. All you're doing is delaying him AND TICKING HIM OFF MORE!

Molecule Man should probably be under Invincible too, right?
