So having no Defense at all to AOEs, not taking full advantage of SR's scaling Resists (the third passive is as valuable as the fist two combined due to stacking) and skipping MA's third-best attack is a good idea?
I really need to get cracking on that MA/SR guide I've been meaning to write. -
They added miniature, winged, flying, purple, heart-laden Ewoks to Galaxies.
Every day, in every way, I'm happy to be in CoX. -
#1: I've really come to dislike PvP 2.0.
#2: the idea of stacking up that much resist on a "squishy" is just silly. "Squishies" need to be squishy.
#3: Bring back PvP 1.0. Srsly.
#4: Doms are a damn fine PvP Arch in either PvP era. -

Quote:The forums must be running on ATI, huh Bill?Ok... all of the sudden the forums are broken again. Hitting save on a post edit does nothing.
And yes, I too eat respecs for breakfast, lunch, dinner and a reasonable snack. The more I like a character, the more respecs I'll spend on them trying to perfect them. Builds, like pastures, are always greener.
Ouch. That's a "buy it nao" price. With 24 hours of patience, you could have a respec for tens of millions less than that. I recently paid 142 million for one redside. That's about the "going rate" if you are patient. Nothing wrong with "buy it nao" if you have more Inf' than real-world time, though. -
I agree the AE has been a mixed blessing, but the Inf' you can make in AE is nothing compared to what you can make on the market itself (and in a fraction of the in-game time).
The chief driving factor in prices on the market is simple mudflation. This is endemic in MMO economies. To my knowledge, there is no solution to it yet. -
I'm marrying this power as soon as the Supreme Court allows it. Man-power love is beautiful love!

Earth/Earth is the best Dom combo I've ever seen or played. The visuals, the sounds, the effectiveness, it's all there. And the best thing is your pet doesn't have to look like a turd anymore, unless you want it to, in which case you can make it look even more like a turd. Earth/Earth is just that great.

The usual counter to Webnades is Super Speed. I don't know if that helps a Kheld very much though.

By enterting the zone, people give their consent to being attacked by other players. This consent can only be withdrawn by leaving the zone.

The first episode was great! I like that you have more discussion of powers than CoHP did, and the PERC topic was very interesting.
If you're looking for a place to put your mantle, put it on your mantle.
It's pronounced DAY-mo-dand. Mister DAY-mo-dand if you're nasty.
Keep up the good work! -
Quote:The only perk I look for from any melee armor is the ability to keep me alive. Pre-buff, ElA didn't do that. Post-buff, it does, doubly so on Tankers who get the heal at level 12, and who have a massive pool of Hit Points propping the resists up.Each armor set has its perks and the ones that have a "bad rap" usually just have the most vocal group of people that want different perks and since that armor doen't have those perks it "sucks".
My only complaint now is Brutes and Stalkers have such a long, squishy trip to Energize. But on Tanks, ElA is golden. Sometimes literally. Thank you, Issue 16! -
I recommend Grav/Energy instead. The additional soft control Energy provides helps Grav's early game quite a bit. Electric is a great set, but the soft control isn't nearly what Energy's is. I had a Grav/Elec and rerolled to Grav/Energy just because Grav really, really needs the extra help.

The only sets to avoid on your first Dom are Mind and Grav. Mind because, though it's a good set, it has a very different play style from every other Dom primary. Best to go with a more classic set first, then try Mind later on. Grav because before you get Singy, the set, shall we say, isn't the best. It's a fun set though, but only for the most experienced and skillful Dom players. Singy makes the set godly, and with lots of skippable powers the set is nice and loose. 32 levels of pain to get there, though.

It would be just perfect if Demon Summoning had Aim in it.
If that happened, the devs wouldn't be just devs anymore, they'd be performance artists. -

The mighty Claws is humbled by Drones. It's especially lolzy when a Guardian bubbles a Drone.

It should be called "Gift of Essence".

The market began with 5,000,000 Inf' Luck Charms, and it will end with 5,000,000 Inf' Luck Charms. I, the Profit Prophet, have foreseen this.

Here's a sample travelless Night Widow build through level 30:
Level 1: Mental Blast (or Poison Dart)
Level 1: Combat Training: Defensive
Level 2: Strike
Level 4: Tactical Training: Maneuvers
Level 6: Hurdle (or Swift; considering Mental Training's +Run, Hurdle is the better overall compliment to your movement)
Level 8: Build Up (or Follow Up)
Level 10: Indomitable Will
Level 12: Lunge
Level 14: Health
Level 16: Spin
Level 18: Slash
Level 20: Stamina
Level 22: Foresight
Level 24: Mask Presence
Level 26: Eviscerate
Level 28: Smoke Grenade
Level 30: Mind Link
Notes:
Lunge and Slash are your big hitters, you need them both ASAP.
Yep, Smoke Grenade, and Smoke Grenade before Mind Link. Why? 3 slotted with debuffs, the power is autohit stacking about 6% Defense in the form of ToHit debuff on top of your already considerable Defense. Mind Link is good, but it isn't perma like Smoke Grenade is (recharges in 15 seconds, lasts for 60 seconds, doesn't stack) and is therefore delayable. Smoke Grenade is the single most under-appreciated NW power (it's the power that makes NPC Night Widows so annoying). If you really want ML first, you can do: Mind Link>Eviscerate>Mask Presence>Smoke Grenade. Saying "no" to SG is saying no to approximately 47.5% more damage mitigation over your base toggles and passives.*
The non-Defense leadership toggles (Tactics and Assault) are OK but you can definitely delay them for much later in your build, or even exclude them completely with little lost. This goes double for Assault. If you really want them, take them after level 30 where NWs have a lot of room. Taking them before Lunge and Slash is a big build mistake.
People tend to overvalue Mental Training. It's nice, you're going to take it, but it is highly delayable for more important powers.
CT: Offensive. You should think about doing away with this completely, but if you must take it, take it after level 30 when your build runs out of "must haves" and is much looser.
Elude. Definitely skippable, but keep in mind that it is the one source of Defense debuff resistance VEATs get, and it gives lots of +Movement as well as +Recovery. Large spawns of Kheldian PPD will make you long for this power as they disassemble most VEATs with relative ease with tons of ranged -Defense. But yes, it's very skippable.
Take Ghost Widow as your Patron. It's not only thematic (Night Widows work for her) but Darkest Night on a NW is downright unfair.
For whatever reason, the devs decided Night Widows would be completely unkillable in PvE, and do insane damage on top of that.
*Base Defense with Mask Presence suppressed but acitve is 34%, so you're still taking 32% of incoming damage. SG makes critter ToHit 44% (down from 50%), which is the same as 6% Defense. This reduces incoming damage to 20%, which is a whopping 47.5% reduction in incoming damage just by using SG. -
As someone who has been in the market for level 30-33 Recipes/IOs and having waited for weeks for someone to put them up for sale at buy it nao prices on the market, I approve of this idea.
Level 30-33 is a wasteland right now. Even blueside (depending on what you want). Anything that would help I approve of, because one of the more frustrating things in this game is having the Inf' but there being no supply to spend it on, even at stupidcrazy pricing.
