Secret Weapons is out for now then. Could you possibly PM me when the MArc is fixed up and ready? I'll check out the others in the meantime.
I've been thinking about getting all the MArcs to play from forums posts (which do tend to be better than the average random MArc) but there is definitely something to be said for finding a real gem of a MArc, especially if it has zero plays. That is kind of fun. -

I thought I17 had the fix, but, this is good to hear. After that fix is in I'm going to take a serious look at MA and give it a fair second chance.
Some MArcs really are good ("Sea City" for example). When you find a MArc like that, just randomly like I did, you see what the MA could be. Then you stumble into one of the "completes on zone in" MArcs some joker put together for lolz and you see what the MA can also be.
P.S. I'm reminded I would at least like to play Arcanaville's and Eva Destruction's MArcs because I can expect those to be competent at worst and excellent at best. Hmmm. Market's down anyway, so why not? -
I don't mind the change but I can see where this does mess with changing the tide of battle in zone engagements. Right now, you defeat their most dangerous guys and it's a good minute or two before they're back in the fight due to the Rest downtime. That tactical element is now lost and their best guys, once defeated, will be back in seconds.
But overall I think it is a good change because Resting, and forced downtime in general, just isn't fun. It also adds a 'berserker'/'chaotic' type element to PvP where people are just constantly churning back and forth in the battle.
Yes, I do think this change ups the fun, even if it is at the expense of some tactical edge that does have some value.
I don't think this'll generate more PvPIOs though due to the Rep timer. In fact, it exacerbates that issue a bit (the more you kill someone the fewer drop opportunities you generate). -
My SR Scrapper regenerates 23 HP/sec.

I solved this problem by having a Bane and a Crab instead of "cheating" it with a dual build. Hey, if 1 VEAT is good, 2 are better and 4 are best.

Quote:You and me both, Bill. A one-man SG with all my alts would be great!Offline SG/VG invites. Then I'll be free to roam Paragon City, the Rogue Isles and Praetoria in perfect peace.
This would turn zone PvP around completely. And I think it'll happen sometime in the next year or so, too. -
What I like about the new UI is it saves tons of time looking up what various items you have are selling for, so you can make quick and informed decisions about what to vendor and what to sell. Saves time and saves slots.

Quote:You agree the Extreme boss is much more difficult, so if the author of the MArc uses an Extreme boss, why shouldn't it give rewards proportionate to that? Because difficult standard critters don't? Even though Extreme customs are an order of magnitude more difficult than any standard critter? No, they're not necessarily more difficult. They are more difficult if the author doesn't know how to make a properly balanced critter.
Quote:Let me suggest trying the new XP system, avoiding the Standard, Hard, and Extreme settings altogether. Hopefully, the new system will be, if not perfect, a closer match to difficulty and XP than before. Just to clarify something not everyone seems to know, the new system does *not* alter the XP rewards for Standard, Hard, and Extreme settings: those are still arbitrarily low. To get the benefit of the new system, you must set both primary and secondary set to Custom, and pick a custom set of powers.
It's all a big frustration when I can just go to any given standard storyarc and do that instead.
I will have to play around with that as you suggest though. Who knows? I may find it "good enough".
P.S. They're going to have to do something about reducing XP for non-buffing "allies" like destructable objects and hostages before I take a serious look at MA again though (unless that's been corrected, but based on posts here, it hasn't). -
Quote:OK, fair enough. But custom critters are generally so much more difficult than any standard critter, that giving the same or reduced rewards seems like more of a penalty (ie, you can go and defeat standard critters in non-MA missions that are much easier to defeat, but give the same XP as those Extreme bosses in MA, making MA a very unappealing option).I should point out though that even in the standard PvE game, critters are not given XP proportional to their difficulty...In fact, XP bonuses above the standard rate tend to be uncommon in general, and tend to reflect as much the circumstances under which you encounter the critters as it does their difficulty.

n00bs VEAT at 20.
This thread was bound to happen.
Kheld forums that way--->
(Hint: Crabs choke on hard single targets like EBs. Banes don't. I beat EB BABs on my Bane with zero deaths). -
Just go to an Arbiter and use the "Select or Rename Builds" option to go to and level up your second build. You can choose the Crab powers instead of the Bane powers and vice versa as you level the second build up.
I don't do the Bane/Crab thing because I like VEATs enough to run one of each (Bane, Crab, Fort, Widow), and making the Crab your second build on a Bane puts the thematically-incorrect legs on your back even when you're using your Bane build. The Bane armor is too awesome looking to do that to it. Also, I prefer having PvE/PvP builds instead of Crab/Bane. -

The problem is, they are never going to allow difficult custom critters to give an appropriately high amount of XP based on that difficulty, as would only be fair.
I used to play a lot of MA missions, but lately I've avoided it because though I like a good story, I equally like decent rewards, and the MA is not currently a source of decent rewards.
I mean, really, a custom critter with Rage should be giving XP in proportion to that, shouldn't it? -
On the enhancement screen, if you hover the mouse over an enhancement, you can see a larger version of it in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
I still want the legible text back, though. -
The latest episode was amazing! Some really great comments from rednames that even included some good hints at what to expect from Going Rogue and the endgame system.
You could hear the pride in Positron's voice when he talked about that endgame system. He's doing what he loves, and that really comes across and is a very encouraging sign that the endgame system is going to be something very special.
And Castle is revisiting enemy groups to expand upon them with new members. Sounds like lots of fun! Maybe we can see those female Huntsmen and Wolfspiders we first saw in the CoV manual. -
Double stacked Followup is less than half the +Damage of Double Stacked Rage. It's less than the +Damage of single-stacked Rage even. And it has to hit. You speak of Followup and Rage as if they are equals when they're not. Rage is far and away better.

That's why I like Super Reflexes. Put a SR in the same scenario and his defense will never drop more than a few points, and it will never see negative numbers. At 50? Your Defense might go from 30.5% to 30%. 29% if you're really getting hammered with -Defense.
Super Reflexes truly is the Golden Fox of powersets.
But don't worry. I'm sure you'll console yourself with Sheid Charge, +HPs, +Damage, -Damage and your team buff (as if you need a team, but hey, they're good for showing off what you can do).

Leandro is great.
