Coulda sworn at lunchtime CST the tic at the bottom was
GMT -8... now it says :
All times are GMT -5. The time now is 03:56 PM.

Is it me, or has anybody else noticed this...???

CST is GMT -5 or GMT -6, depending on daylight savings. Why would it be at -8?

I think you're very confused. Time zone is set in your user options.
