Yeah, that's definitely broken, especially in light of the utility the set enjoys. When I tried the set in beta I don't think it had DDR anywhere near that, IIRC. And my live Shield Defense characters are too low-level to notice something like that.
A DDR of 50%ish (on a Tanker) wouldn't be broken for the set, though. -
It's true, Shatter Armor does a lot of damage in PvP, but keep in mind the base Resists everyone gets (but then as a Bane Resists are something you can disassemble quite well
).
Also keep in mind Banes are hella squishy in PvP.
Achilles' Heel proc in Surveillance FTW.
P.S. Depending on your build and tactics, Banes tend to be better at setting up kills for others than they are at getting kills themselves, but you can certainly get some kills yourself as well. -

Virtue's still big. It's Freedom that has gotten small. PvPers migrate to Freedom. Freedom shrinks. Coincidence? Yes.

Do people even know what SHOEs are anymore? They are kinda...dated.

Quote:This is the only time since Issue 6 I've curtailed my gameplay specifically due to the particular array of bugs in an Issue. I've never curtailed or outright stopped playing an Issue due to bugs before. I'm not the only one. That says something.(shrug) If you've been here that long, then your memory is poor. There have been WAY worse issue releases.
(So far - the servers could all go kerflooey tomorrow.)
At the very least, this set of bugs has gobbled up more Inf than any other Issue (not counting the old 60 day market delete as that was a "feature" not a bug). The addition of loot like ultra-rares to the game is part of what makes this true of this Issue, but not of earlier ones (since earlier ones had no real loot to gobble up like this one has).
But hey, if fanboys say there's no problem, then no need for any fixes, right? All's quiet on the Paragonian front? If it ain't broke don't fix it? Still workin' on that novel after five years? The one with the protagonist? And the antagonist? Where events happen? /stewie OK, now I'm just funin'.
Quote:Just send it to yourself via email and let it linger in the void. If I can come back after a year and still have 300 "CHEAP INFAMY!!! 100$ = 1 BILION" messages sitting in my inbox, I'd expect my own emails to stick around for longer.
But no, the fanboys are right. Nothing wrong with the game. Nothing at all. Nothing to see here. Yep.
P.S. I should emphasize that, after the bugs are quashed, Issue 17 will be one of the strongest in the game's 6 years. It's great. It was just released too soon. -
We're still missing that all-important Silver Age chest-symbol option: chemical symbols.

Keep in mind Shield Defense's Defense doesn't have much Defense Debuff Resistance backing it up, so a few machine gun hits (or any number of the myriad of -Def Debuffs critters get) and your Defense will be much lower, or even completely gone.

It'll be interesting to see what happens to PvP IO prices as a result of this. For the procs, probably they'll stay at 2+ bill. For the "common" PvP IOs we should see somewhat of a price decrease.
-
Quote:I think what he means is you can put an item in the interface and it searches for the current prices automatically (he said "press Find" but this is unnecessary). Not only could you do that before, but clicking find is unnecessary. In either interface you just put it there, expand it, and list a price.
The old interface did not do that, or if it did mine was broken because it never looked up any prices for me, I had to do it manually. -
Fanboys say "every Issue is buggy". I've been here for quite a few issues (came to the game in Issue 6), and I have to say this is by far the most Inf'-draining, show-stopping set of bugs I've ever seen in an Issue. This thing was pushed live way before it should have just so it could be released on the 6-year anniversary. Not a good plan, in retrospect.

Part of what keeps Doms from greater popularity is the steep learning curve. You must unlearn everything you learned as a Controller. Doms play so differently from Controllers it's hard to believe they have primaries in common.
I wouldn't have recommended Fiery/Fiery as a starter Dom, but I'll bet you're catching on fast and will be fully Dominating everything before long. Keep up the good work, and welcome to the game's best-kept secret Archetype! -

I giggle at the word "Bonefire". Apparently, I'm 12.

Quote:Excellent analysis. I agree.a few i could see to be "high demand" items would be IMO:
- backup radio
- envenomed dagger
- recovery serum
- med kit
- stun grenades (maybe)
If I can get my stacks of Recovery Serum quickly and cheaply, I'll have no complaints. -
My only fears with the drop rate this high:
Are the temp powers dropping instead of other Recipes, or in addition to them?
Will the temp powers drop so much, they won't sell for anything so no one will put them on the market (and just vendor/delete them instead)?
P.S. I wouldn't mind getting whole stacks of Recovery Serum for cheap. That stuff is game changing pre-Stamina. -
-
Definitely. My INV/SS Tanker made it all the way to 50 before I could think up a bio for him.

Quote:I think you have me mixed up with someone else. Reread my post. Nobody's threatening to ragequit. If you don't want to figure out that's the way life is and instead want to /ragequit or spam multiple threads with Severe amounts of uninformed whining about everything not being perfect... your loss, not mine. And if you want to insist on compensation, show me the guarantee that everything will be up 100% of the time or they'll reimburse in some way. I can guarantee you won't find that.
Having had to use my Tailor Tokens to redo my custom powers, for example, it's not unreasonable to get more, is it? -
As Off the Cape's charter subscriber, I congratulate you on a fantastic episode. I also commented in the old thread, but I'll say again here that Positron's enthusiasm is infectous. You can tell how much pride he's taking in his work.
And Castle remains the best powers guy in the industry. (Thank you Castle for Shatter Armor, and making Doms rock even harder!)
And TehOcho is just a class act. The kind of guy you'd buy a beer anytime. -
My favorite part of I17 is the Recovery Serum temp power. Pre-Stamina that thing is worth its weight in gold.
