This is what I usually do, put my setting on heroic difficulty 1 and choose an arc and run through it real quick. Did the Anti Matter arc in like 2 hours with my MA/WP scrapper and got 29 merits, I really just needed to beat Anti Matter for the Accolade but the 29 merits were nice too. And there are easy arcs that could probably give you better merit/time, but just giving an example of how much you can get.

Ok, Posi said that when exemp or mal down you get the option of xp and inf, or more inf, does this mean once we get 50 we will get more inf since that is all we get anyway?

Quote:Yeah, it kinda sucks they way they have the system now, I think as far as the drop rates go it is something like this.My main toon is a L50 Katana/Willpower Scrapper (awesome combo, imho) named Unspoken Covenant (don't ask) on Virtue. He's been L50 for about 3 months now. I've run a bunch of mishes with him since then. Last Friday, he and some buds from our SG (The Island of Misfit Heroes) did the Reichsman TF. We beat the big bad Nazi, and what did I get for a drop?
Inanimate Carbon Rod and a L50 Disorient IO (Not a Set) Recipe. I'm not joking.
In the immortal words of Charlie Brown: 'I got a rock.'
Minion 2%
LT/Snipers 6%
Bosses 9% (Not sure on these going from memory since I can't find it on paragonwiki)
of those drops you have like a 2% chance of getting a purple.
I have ran a couple of tests as far as trying to calculate how long it would take someone to get one. I did nothing but radio mishes and skipped the bank ones, solo it took approx 25 mishes before I got one. The next day I did 22 and got one off of a LT. And on my last day of solo testing I did 32 before I got one.
I was not able to do team testing as often I was solo, but I was able to get one day in. Did a total of 3 TFs and about 10 paper mishes. Started with 2 ITFs back to back and got nothing but common IOs. Then went to PI and ran with a full team for about 10 mishes, got a couple of Uncommons, a couple of rares, and a butload of commons. Then I got a tell to join a LGTF and it was probably like the 2nd mish I got it.
At the end of all of this and it was said and done, without including what I made off of the purples, and just including how much I made off of market selling and just selling, I had enough to buy a couple of purples maybe even a set (depending on the set).
Would I say it is worth it NOW? Depends on the person. To me, No. I would rather not spend all day solo trying to get one thing, if it comes it comes. And the toon I used to get them has no purples, just regular sets like ToD, Mako's Bite, GFC, etc. However, it was nice to have enough money to get some of the uniques that I wanted.
So on average if you do about 23 - 28 mishes solo, killing all enemies on map, you should get one (Not a guarantee though).
Now here is the good thing, it isn't worth it to me now, but in i16 when I can get on a map set for 4 or 5 this could possibly take the number down from 23 - 28 mishes to 5 - 8 mishes. -
Quote:At level 50 most Scrappers should not have acc issues, not sure if that comes with experience or common sense.
Unless there's a bunch of Leadership buffs or the melee have gone out of their way to buff their own tohit, they are quite likely to have acc issues. -
-
1.) Hate to tell you this but you pick your last power at 48, so you are going to have to spec if you want MT.
2.) With all issues and some updates you get a freespec, so any new issue that comes out you can count on a freespec. -
Quote:Erm...maybe its just me...but my MA/Regen scrapper is nothing compared to my katana/regen...I find MA is far slower. Its more powerful per attack but i don't find that it outweighs the drop in speed from Katana. Can I ask what your attack chains are? Maybe I'm just haven't found the right chain...
I also find that the animations are too long for me to hit my heals in time, not a problem I've had with my other kat/regen...
But obviously you guys are finding different. Am I expecting too much compared to kat/regen, or do you think I'm not using him right? I haven't been able to get all the acolades for him yet, so he doesn't have all the base regen/recovery boosts my kat/regen has, but I never found a huge difference between my kat/regen having them and not having them...
It is just a game, sometimes people like the way it plays and not the way it performs. -
Quote:Depends on what the primaries the scrappers and the brute were, not to say it couldn't be done, but if no one had any defense debuff and ne extra to hit buff it would be extremely hard, however, if all the defenders had tactics and Maneuvers probably wouldn't be an issue. Overall it just depends on what powers the team had altogether.No. I don't think so.
Play skill in this scenario is an ocean. Your proposed explanation is a tiny thimble of water. Experienced and skilled players could have done that with enhancements turned off with that same team.
P.S. This would not be my dream team either, I only need one Kin. -
No Argument there, just as long as I can solo EBs, I don't feel too bad, never really tried to solo an AV with any of my toons, I would imagine I have a couple of Scrappers and trollers that can do it, but I have nothing to prove.

Quote:This while it may seem a big hurdle, actually isn't in practice. Ignoring any resist buffs, on paper my fortunata does 221dps. Mind link has to be recast every 90 seconds and I lose less then one full attack chain. Typically when I cast ML I do restart my attack chain, it ends up being about a 10dps loss in the end, not very significant. My next project is making a widow that doesn't need mind link, almost have the build where i want it
I tend to not get into discussions about archetyes I don't play, but PRAF68 is right about the bane animation times. I'm not going to get into the redraw, as i don't have a bane. Widows are good for soloing AVs because their attacks have very high DPA. They do better then most brute/scrapper sets. Banes on the other hand have very poor dpa. Since I don't have a bane, i'm not exactly sure what attack chain would be best but when I considered making one for AV soloing I worked up a build. Here are the numbers I came up with for DPA.
Bane Spider Soldier
Bash – 1.3/1.584 = 0.82
Shatter – 2.78/2.508 = 1.11
Pulverize – 2.14/1.716 = 1.25
Crowd Control – 2.11/2.244 = 0.95
Bash > Pulverize > Bash > Shatter
.82/1.25/.82/1.11 in 7.392 = 0.54
To put it short, thats garbage compared to widows. Even the lowest DPA of widow attack chains is twice as efficient.
Arachnos Widow
Swipe - .8 Lethal + 3x.08 toxic = 1.04/1.056 = 0.985
Followup - .91/1.056 = 0.86
Lunge – 1.82 + 4x.1 = 2.22/1.056 = 2.10
Followup > Swipe > Lunge > Swipe
.86/.985/2.1/.985 in 4.224s = 1.17
Not taking sides, just stating the numbers. That doesn't mean it can't be done. I've heard of people soloing AVs with pure range fortunatas, and the dpa for that chain is 0.66. It may be possible, but it would surely take some time.
I tend to not like posting here that much about Banes, since most think I am Biased toward them, however, in your calculations a couple things you forgot to include...
Survallence and Venom Grenade w/ the AH -res proc giving a total of 60% -res to all and 80 -res to toxic (looks at Poisonous Ray).
Not sure if you included the buffs from follow up, but I think it would be fair to average in the use of Build up.
What about the damage that is given off by the pets, I would imagine that they too would be doing some serious damage with a 60% -res boost on an enemy.
Also in terms of survivablity Banes can easily soft cap defenses, however, in the same sense they also have the 20% hp boost 12% dam res to all. Which is something a Widow cannot achieve easily through IOs. I state this because even at Capped defenses an even level AV has a 7.5% chance to hit you, so you are going to get hit and a Bane can take one better than a Widow can.
Not sure if these aspects would help Bane do more damage, but these are key factors that were left out. -
Quote:Minus the inturrupt, I think that fits the description for the Operation Engineer for Malta, I get mad that his stays up even after death and mine will leave in the midst of battle.I want to know which weapon dealer sells them to the Malta Group.
1 second cast time, non-interruptible, all most no end cost, permanent duration even if the caster is defeated.
I want to buy MY Gun Drones at THAT store.
On another note, I would gladly take a melee stun if it had the duration of theirs too. -
Quote:I took Hover/Fly which isn't too much different than CJ/SJ 3 slot each of them with Blessing of the Zypher's easy 6% range and AoE.I can't really say much about energy however regarding Devices I'd advise dropping Time Bomb. Quite frankly it's an awful, awful power to use. The rest of the Devices set is pretty good just make sure you slot it up. In particular, slot Smoke Grenade for both Accuracy and To Hit debuff, it provides decent damage mitigation but the debuff is not Auto-Hit (unlike Flash Arrow in TA). Also it's important to note that Cloaking Device does not provide full stelth you'll want to pick up a Stealth IO to go with it (slot the IO in Sprint and always turn on sprint when stealthing to save slots).
Regarding Munitions Mastery I strongly urge you to take at least Surveillance and preferably LRM. Surveillance is a very nice debuff to help out against bosses and LRM is a decent mini-Nuke power.
You've gone a bit heavier into the travel pools than I tend to like. Taking Combat Jumping is probably unnecessary. While it does provide a Defense Bonus it isn't that big (you can get similar bonuses for IO sets) and frankly you could probably find a better use for the power. The point about using it with Super Speed is well taken but a better option would (IMHO) be to switch Swift for Hurdle and slot it up a bit. Hover is fast enough for in mission use if you slot it for flight speed a bit. Personally I take Super Jump for travel power on almost all of my toons but it's largely a preference thing (I find Flight boring and Super Speed limiting).

Quote:Chances are that purple prices will begin to decline after I16 is released, what with being able to set spawn sizes to the equivalent of an 8-man team and all.
I myself won't be doing 8 man, but I will be upping it to about 4 or 5, and with the way percentages are set, I should get atleast 1 purple every 5 - 10 paper/radio mishes along with a load of money. However, I think you are right, it may not be a steep decline but I think prices across the market will be going down. -
Quote:So range enhances adds cone to the cone making like a 30 degree like a 45? or what?
Yep I find adding range enh makes a HUGE difference in how many people I can hit with these cones, and is the reason why I always add at least 2 range enh in any cones <60ft. No more than 1 acc is neccasary for Fire Breath since it also gets a hefty acc bonus. -
Quote:A lot of little improvements makes a big difference, compared to nothing at all.
It's surprisingly often true that people are willing to spend large amounts of in-game currency to improve their performance by very little.
Quote:I have a WP brute with 37% defense to Fire/Cold/Energy/Neg Energy, and was planning on spending 600million on a PvP IO for an extra 3% defense to all. Now I'm thinking the difference between 37% and 40% isn't worth 600 million Inf. :P
Quote:3% resistance is a joke -
So is it minions at the same level and up to +5 levels only have a 50% chance to hit you?
Sorry Nvm, found it on Paragonwiki, I think. -

It would be a nice Christmas gift to wake up and Play Going Rouge. -
Personally, I didn't take either toggle on my Ice/Ice, there was already enough damage and mitigation between me and Jack that I never found myself in melee without all the enemies being held or dead. If you are trying to slow well slotted shiver will do it well from range and Chilling Embrace is a much better toggle. Max recharge slow is 75%, Max movement slow is 90% and seeing how an Ice/Ice combo can floor recharge and movement easy without toggles the only reason to take AA is for the chance for confusion and at that point it isn't worth the end drain. You and Jack will have Chilling Embrace at that point giving all the enemies in melee range of you both floor movement and recharge speed. So overall AA just isn't worth it to me almost a waste of a slot.

It has to be, Ice was one of the few primaries that just got the base damage buff, and did not have any powers changed.

Teaming kinda does make a difference when dealing with a Fire/Fire. Because solo RoF is a horrible power for a Fire/Fire solo, the power does not slow foes so without immo each enemy it is kinda pointless since the run out of it real quick. RoF is a maybe power if you have the room, if you plan on teaming I would not take the snipe, if you solo I would not take the snipe. The Nuke is debatable, some do, some don't, on my Fire/Dev which solo's extremely well I am thinking about taking it off as I solo with him a lot and don't use it at all when I solo, however, on a team it is hard to resist jumping in the middle of a mob and blowing them all up.
As for the secondary, take build up and AoE powers, Auras are at your discretion, but I would recommend Hot Feet. -
The bad part about it is that you can't attack while using it.
-
Ok looking at my Energy/Energy/Force Blaster, and I was looking at Electrical Mastery and the resistance values are much better on it as a whole, because you get high S/L/E resistance and you cap them with surge of power, along with getting a hold and another AoE attack and a PBAoE stun. What makes Force stand out now that Elec has SoP? I am guessing PFF? is that enough to stay with Force even though I don't have it and the original reason for Force was FoN and SoP seems to be better?
