I think we all win just based on the fact that Herc successfully posted a pic to the forums!

I found the arc to be a fun play, even if the logic is questionable at best. It felt, though, like there should be a lot more to the story, and I'm kind of hoping they will release a follow-up to the arc w/ i20. I can't even hope to KNOW what the big deal was with just the information we're given.
The new villain arc was not quite as messed up, story-telling wise, and seemed to reach a conclusion w/ no need for a follow-up, but really it was just promoting the whole Alpha Slot thing in a way that (to me) needlessly deluted the game's canon. -
Thanks for doing this, Attache.
I sent my entry to you via a note on DeviantArt; user name there, as here, is Crazy1van. If that's not how you needed to recieve it, I'm sure whoever does win your drawing will appreciate your gesture too. -
Not my first choice, as I want to see more shapeshifters, but Rikti could be a great player AT. But realistically, I'm expecting a Praetorian EAT, since Praetoria is the flavor of the week.
-
This sounds like a cool idea to me. Who couldn't benefit from their own Jarvis, Alfred, or Oracle to add flavor, if not fuction, to their SuperGroup? And the Resistance Underground bases in Praetoria show what base NPCs can be used for using code that already exists. I doubt the NPCs would be walkers, as there are no interactive NPCs like that in-game (unless you count pedestrians that tell you how long you've been playing, which I clearly do not).

Welcome back! Yes, there are plenty of great changes to explore, especially since you have GR! Have fun changing heroes into villains and vice versa!

It hasn't happened to me in the last couple years, but when it did I deleted all the .pigg files in my folder, so the cohupdater automatically noticed they were missing and 'fixed' them by replacing them with new ones. Presumably this still works.
Good luck! -

I also see only li'l boxes with 'X' in them. But I do have the low rez pix I took.
Winners of the 2010 Elvish is Everywhere costume contest on Infinity Server, from left to right:
1st pl. Gooseberry, 2nd pl. Inferno, 3rd pl. Jolly Holly
Congrats to you three, and thanks to all who entered!
Here they are again, plus CC judge WeatherWench,... and half of Doom.
-
Indeed it was great fun, and I was thrilled that Herc let my nearly-an-elf toon Fitheal McClurichaun be a judge! Thanks for sponsoring the event and spreading some of that Christmas cheer!
But wait; where are all the pictures of the winners? I have a couple, but with my graphics settings, they won't do anyone any justice. That, and the fact that at only 4 feet tall, my screenshots are more pelvish than elvish. -
That may mean the code is for European servers instead of North American, or vice versa.

My main, a L50 scrapper named Kavik the Wolf Boy, was not RPed as being anything near the L50 power level until GR came out. He was a heroic werewolf who could tear through street thugs but would never have been able to hold his own against anything big. I did have him join the Vanguard, but otherwise his IC role in most of his adventures was much less 'direct' than in-game.
Once he was able to 'go rogue' Kavik was forced to merge with a future version of himself, one that had been sent by Vanguard into the Shadow Shard to help prevent the arrival of Rularoo on Earth during the oft-mentioned Coming Storm. During this battle one of the aspects of Rularoo was destroyed, and Kavik, lost and forgotten in the Chancery, became the host for the resurrecting aspect. To avoid this fate he went back in time and merged with modern Kavik, but largely without access to most of this new power. What he DID have was a corruption of spirit, leading him to darker paths, justifying the changes in alignment he's suffered (currently a Rogue in-game).
With the Incarnate system, modern Kavik will be able to start intergrating with the power of that Rularoo aspect. I intend to play this as a very corrupting influence on him, so that he loses sight of what is right and wrong entirely, slowly becoming more a force of nature than an individual. -
True. Perhaps the Troll Raves could function as a template. Dozens of Praetorians spill out of a portal, wreck havoc, then leave on their own after a while. Local police and Longbow swarm the area to contain them, but it doesn't have to spread more than a few blocks from the portal, so you only participate if you want and it's easy to ignore if you don't.

On Infinity server, I JUST investigated the tip and it seems to work. Not using it yet, but I have it. Sadly, none of my Virtue toons have one.

Quote:Not exactly. If you earnt he Smuggler badge as a vigilante, you will NOT get the Smuggler badge, but you will get the Gunrunner badge, which is the same thing, and still goes to getting a dayjob accolade when combined with Daytrader (or Marketeer). As a hero or vigilante, the badge is GUNRUNNER. As a villain or Rogue, it is SMUGGLER.To simplify it, here's what happens.
- Hero turns Vigilante, and goes to the Rogue Isles.
- Vigilante logs out at a Ferry for the Smuggler Day Job.
- After 21 days of being logged out, Smuggler Day Job bar is filled. However, Vigilante does NOT get the Smuggler Badge.
- Eventually, Vigilante turns Villain.
- Smuggler Badge is awarded.
All the dayjobs have equivilents if they did not already exist on both sides to begin with. -
I have a number of GL-ish toons. Illusion / Force Field troller is the most accurate I've come up with, though the Peacebringer w/ no shape shifting is good too.

If an optional Fault system were available, I'd use it.
I can imagine a system based on origin types, rather than actual damage types. If I want my magical Illusions to be ineffective against robots, I'd give my magic origin controller a -1 overall ToHit (or other trait) vs Technology, with the trade off being a +1/2 overall ToHit vs Natural. Something along these lines would make origins relevant, which would be a nice change of pace for me, and would allow me to customize my characters for RPG. My super-bad-*** scrapper better think twice before jumping into a den of Outcasts; he's Mutant-Intolerant! -
In-story, Ghost Widow has an advantage over other undead spirits. Most spirits are bound to the physical realm by some object they were associated with in life, or possibly through a connection to a still-living relative. Ghost Widow is connected to the entire Arachnos organization, so she cannot be disrupted nearly as easily as other spirits, as her tie to reality is not nearly so tenuous as most ghosts.

Not to mention the Paragon University cheerleaders seen on campus. You can't have cheerleaders without sports to cheer for. I've never seen cheerleaders praising a mathlete!

There was a time when we were promised more animal parts in the Mutant / Mutation Booster; when they revealed the actual booster, enough people called foul that they threw in the wolf-tail last second. It would still be nice to get these parts, or at least access to the animal parts that already exist on NPCs.
-
It needs to happen, for a thousand reasons already mentioned here and elsewhere. Superhero comics and stories have a long-standing tradition of animalistic characters showing up.

It's hard to overstate my satisfaction with issue 18.
