Then you post a linkage to the picture, using image-tags.
Be Well!
Fireheart
ty fireheart!
An iconic hero representative for charity? Sounds like what Santa does for Christmas.
Keeping that in mind here is what I imagined based upon the impressions from the Real World Hero info pages...
Operation Gratitude
This one was the easiest: Super-Mom Carolyn Blashek
The definition of a natural hero, I see her as an energy/energy blaster who refused to take "No, this is too much for you." for an answer. When she couldn't join the military on the front line of the war, she organized personalized care packages for the troops and became a second mother to them all. More than 600,000 packages will have been shipped by the end of 2010 from the Operation Gratitude she founded. A personification of a true Real World Hero!
Heifer International
Firemoth already did a nice one, so this is as much a tribute to her design as Heifer.
Donate Games
I vote that the ultimate representative for Donate Games would be Sparrow_Hawk's Dungeon Master, but since he is busy in a D&D marathon campaign how about a sprite from AE to step in and do the honors?
Child's Play
If there is one thing a child teaches, it is that play time is serious stuff. They have a magic that can transform absurd into amazing and simple fun into fantastic. But it takes more than one child to the reach maximum creativity threshold. That is why there are two avatars for Child's Play.
Meet Chelsey, the spunky pink princess buccaneer with her purple cat-changes-into-seahorse Sally, and Piers, the blue moon ninja who is master at night.
Of course, just like Santa they are only as strong as their legions of friendly helpers, each and every one a Real World Hero.
Just as I was posting this, I saw Yydr's designs. Now that I'm out of the running, this is just for fun. XD
Child's Play.
I Sent my other to Mr. Wentworth already in an email, if you want me to, I'll post my other

woot! i think it worked! ty Henri!
above is my Nutcracker costume, my entry for the Child's Play Avatar.
now, if i can only figure out how to send the *costume file...
Costume file is actually a plain-text file that is saved in the 'Costumes' folder in your CoH folder. You can read and even edit the thing with Notepad. Or you can just attach the untouched file to a message. We can post the (rather lengthy) text of a costume file in the forums by wrapping a

tag around it.
You see this from time to time on the Costume (Re)Design forum.
Be Well!
Fireheart
Nicely done, Hercules. Glad you got the forums to work.
If you saved the costume file in the character creator it will be located in your City Of Heroes folder. Probably at C > Program Files > City of Heroes > costumes .
Simply attach the costume file in an email to info@realworldhero.com with your Global Name. I also attach the picture for good measure.
Edit: And Fireheart beat me to it. ;->
*costume file sent! thank you both!
I know I'm a couple days late, and don't expect to be in the running, but these are the impressions I got when I thought about "Child's Play".
Does anyone have the link of where we go to vote?
there's voting?
Hi guys,
We had planned for voting to take place via the Real World Hero website and that hasn't happened. My apologies on that, but we will award prizes to those that had entered prior to the deadline.
We really appreciate the great entries submitted and wish that there had been more interest in the contest. I'll chalk it up to my own time constraints which kept me from promoting things better this year. Thankfully, the charity drive has remained a wonderful success and our gratitude goes out to you and all of the other players that made it so.
By my tally, there were 9 costumes entered (counting Yydr's 2 Child's Play entries): 5 for Child's Play, 2 for Heifer International, and 1 each for Operation Gratitude and Donate Games. So, the only one that really requires some judging is the Child's Play entries. You are welcome to post your votes in this thread and we will add that to our own considerations, then announce the winners here in the thread tomorrow night (Jan 1st).
I hope that this meets with approval of our entrants.
Best regards and Happy New Year!
Mr. Wentworth
so who won? i'd like to use the winners in next year's RWH AE Arc. also, i'd like to author next year's RWH AE arc!
invites you to participate in the
MAKE ME A SUPERHERO!
Costume Design Contest
The Real World Hero charity drive is in full swing already, but there is always room for more fun! We're supporting four charities this year: Child's Play, Donate Games, Operation Gratitude, and Heifer International. If you haven't yet heard about Real World Hero we invite you read the full details in our event thread here (http://bit.ly/rwh2010) and visit the Real World Hero website as well (http://realworldhero.com).
Here comes the fun part! We're asking you to design what you think the iconic hero representative from any or all of the four charities might look like. For example, what would the hero representing Heifer International look like? How about the heroic benefactor of Child's Play? We know there are a bunch of creative costume designers in our community. We can't wait to see what you come up with! We're not limiting any costume pieces in this contest. Anything is fair game!
If you'd like additional information about each of the four charities to help inspire your creativity, you can find more via these links:
- 1st place - 500 million inf -PLUS- use of their costume to represent the charity at our Real World Hero Celebration Ball on January 1st, 2011.
- 2nd place - 250 million inf
- 3rd place - 100 million inf
(Prizes will be emailed to winners via global handle.)We hope this can be a fun and interesting way to participate in the Real World Hero charity drive. We are so proud of this wonderful community we share and the generosity of everyone! Can't wait to see what kinds of costumes you dream up!
Best regards,
@Mr. Wentworth
