Why I want a Rikti EAT

Because........:
1) I would like to play a Headsman Gunner (bumped up to a full powerset).
Wearing that Black and Green glowing X-box armor, wielding an Energy Rifle (Energy Damage+ Chance to Stun!)
Using a hover-less, short-range version of Teleport to pick, choose and re-adjust my firing position for maximum effect in kiting my enemies.
Perhaps adding on a stealth unit or trip mines into my inventory.
Maybe having a Rikti Monkey or a Advanced Drone summonable?
(Similar, perhaps to an Energy/Dev Blaster, but noticably different)

2) I'd like to play a Communications Officer (bumped up to a full powerset). I could see this as a MM-style summoner with Rikti troops coming out of it's summoning portal.

Until then, I can just envy the Headsman with thier Combat Teleportation.

Rikti make the most sense to make as the next EAT;

1) Branching storylines, one for Hero and one for Villain, i.e. Traditionalist and Restructurists. Huge scope for unique missions and story

2) Masses of powerset options. Swords, blasts and psionics, not to mention comm officer style portal summons. Maybe something like Gang War but Rikti-fied. Or Monkeys. Evil, evil monkeys.

3) Lots of costume options. Add in the more civilian Rikti options as well as battle armour, along with the choice of Rikti OR Human body options. Dont, for the love of pete, lock it to one slot like the VEATs. That would be stupid.

I can argue this till the cows come home. It just makes sense.

I had a long post stating why this is great.

Then the forum logged me out.

So I just say: YES.

A select few people already have Rikti outfits from meet and greets and contests, I think. A Mind/Psy dom with that outfit could perform a Rikti pretty well. If they make NPC costumes purchasable from the NC store one day, that would be an option for you.

Also, there have been suggestions about giving weapon dependent animations to non-weapon sets, like firing energy blasts from an energy gun.

As for Rikti as a new archetype, I don't like it as I don't see the Rikti providing that many options for powers, and it would be extremely hard to make costumes available for the Rikti model.

Yes I copypasted because I'm lazy.

That thread also has my slightly longer counter to why the above 'counter' is unworthy, imo anyway

Et Voila

Many options for powers? Uhm, same could be said for VEATs. Its called taking whats there and expanding on it. Its worked pretty damn good so far.
Costumes available? Have you examined the Rikti in-game and seen just how much diversity there is? Also, again, human/Rikti slot options, for ever slot. Problem solved.

And yes, as the only Rikti EU side ( ) I use a Fortunata Build for him. Not perfect, but it works pretty nice for now.

I'm one of those Rikti Mind/Psi Doms, actually (Mentalist Urii'Gelr of the Virtue server). As fun as it is though, it's not enough for me.

Rikti should be made into an archetype. They have a major place in the game's lore, and have been around since launch... I honestly think it's about time they become truely playable.

Not against it - I'd just rather see one of the other, anciently mentioned EATs come out first. The Rikti storyline is covered pretty thoroughly already, after all. Between the Red Coral missions, Incarnates and all the little hints and bits and pieces in the game, I'd like to see the Coralax EAT come to tie all that together.

The Coralax would be a pretty weak EAT, to be honest. You get to play some beast-like thing that's barely ever been featured in the game, with hardly any diversity whatsoever.

But Rikti seem to be the best bet. It would be a great next step in showing the Rikti culture evolving and showing them join the humans as allies, while others would go undercover, pretending to be allies while looking for ways to finally win the war for the Rikti. Both stories work for both blue and redside. There are, in fact, tons of costume options to choose from, they wouldn't need new animations for running or anything like that, And plenty of powers. I could see the support being a cross of MMs and defenders, while the fighters would be like blappers with armor.

All in all, I approve of this.

... hardly ever?

With ties to the red coral, the leviathan, Barracuda (and perhaps Mako,) present in both sides of the story (even before the Hollows revamp, they were touched on in Striga,) mentions of them from centuries back - there's quite a bit to work with. And more importantly, quite a bit to explore.

Not my first choice, as I want to see more shapeshifters, but Rikti could be a great player AT. But realistically, I'm expecting a Praetorian EAT, since Praetoria is the flavor of the week.

But the bad Rikti fight Villains too - it's a similar situation to the loyalists - they're attacking everyone on Primal Earth, not just Heroes, so I think any evil Rikti path would have to involve being a spy and working undercover.

Yes, but (as you wouldnt know), there is already a Rikti Restructurist Ambassador in Grandville, Kuhr'Rekt, working with Recluse and Arachnos. Theres plenty of room to expand on that.

And, in case you hadn't noticed, everyone fights Villains. And Arachnos. And everyone in the Rogue Isles. Come on, GG, keep up
