Thank you for any help you can offer
Well, sure! A while ago I decided to do the 2nd Hero Respec with my Ice/Fire tanker- grabbed three people of way lower level than me, and told em that they could fart around at the entrance if they didn't want to go against the +amillion's. At the last part, I ended up with one of them in the final room with me, and we cleared it. Hella hard, unstoppable waves of foes, but that was a LOT of fun.

Sure, it's possible to complete most of the Trials with only four people.

I dunno, I always found the sad tale full of DETH KICK much more amusing.
  3. You know, I had a small pile of these sitting on my computer, but my head ignited every time I accidentally looked at them, so they've been deleted.
  4. I take my travel power "Whenever Convenient", and in my final, exemplar-friendly build, it goes precisely at 14.

On the subject of Jetpack Vendors: I've never used them. Temp Travel powers are too slow for me, ESPECIALLY the flight ones. The flight packs are about equal to Sprint+Swift, which is a bit pathetic really.
However, Heroes can rejoice, cause your jetpack vendor is opening up to all levels next issue- Posi was yakking about removing the level requirements from all zones. :3
While I don't know whether the way he stated it meant "Sidekicked characters count as the right level for entering level-req zones" or "There just aren't level req'd zones anymore", it's all good for the jetpack-hungry.

I think the character with the latest-placed travel power would be my Elec/Ninja stalker. Super Jump at level 20, not a single power from the Fitness pool. Because there were WAY too many "required" powers I had to get.
I needed a one-two punch for scrapping (Charged brawl + havoc punch); I needed AS and Build Up, cause it's a stalker; I needed an AoE attack, because life is hell without one; I needed both my melee AND ranged shields, in addition to Hide and Mez Protection... And getting travel requires two powers in itself. God, talk about your tight builds. I coulda taken SJ two levels earlier, but I felt Chain Induction was slightly more important. >_<

Anyway, I squeeze in travel at 14 or 16 most of the time. It's Stamina that I am okay with shoving back later or eliminating from my build entirely. Nothing wrong with slotting Endredux!
  5. Peebles' Wedding Band and that nice Bow and Arrow are both must-haves for any temp-power user. They're really handy to have around! AND they're renewable, which gets rid of that "gotta save it" stigma that many are afflicted with.

I've been using the wedding band on my Regen scrapper to take the alphas for those cowardly tankers I always seem to get teamed with. :3

But overall, I actually hoard temp powers quite a bit. Especially the Safeguard/Mayhem ones. Those aren't exactly easy to collect! But.. they can be a huge boon to a character that lacks AoE. You got your Psi-Scream temp power, your Energy Torrent, your Flamethrower.. Yum!

    I love temp powers!

I'd be offended, but I've been reading modern sitcom for the past four hours, so all that comment got was a poke at the snarky laugh track button. In my head.
  8. Ahahahaha! I lost one rep for, and I fully quote: "trolling"

    Or.. something like that.

    Wiki etiquette

I'd say go ahead and plug. I consider you the foremost expert on power icons, so you changing the entry is a super good thing.

Wikis, also, are really supposed to point to ALL information about something. Not just some of it. Adding an entry mentioning your popular and well-made icon pack seems like something that really *should* be there.

But, then again, I'm not a big-time contributor to the wiki.

My rep is stagnant! I gave up on trying my hardest to be in the red after the positive reps completely blew away the negative ones. Oh well!

But hey, the comments I get are mostly pretty amusing ones!

  14. I definitely lose a bit of interest in actually playing when a nifty new issue is around the corner. Granted, my definition of "nifty" is not the same as everyone else's, but still...

Yeah, it's like I don't want to spend time playing, cause I won't be playing with all the sweet new stuff that's going to be out. Weird for me, cause I generally live in the present.

    *shrugs*
  15. To start with the simplicity- I love to defend people, in games and in life. I'm pretty good at enduring whatever happens in life, I'm extremely loyal to my friends and will do whatever is in my power to help em.

Slightly more complexly- I am a natural foil. Around the outgoing, I'm silent; around the indecisive, I decide; around the virtuous, I'm mischievous; around the nasty, I'm a paragon of righteousness; around the skilled, I'm useless...
You might say I'm a nonconformist, but I'm waaaay more nonconforming than nonconformists.

I see the complexity in the simple, and the simplicity in the complex-
-When I play my beloved blasters, I annihilate problem foes, tear apart enemies that go for our squishies, and take the alpha for those cowardly tanks. I use each simplistic power I have to its fullest, putting it just where it is needed.
-When I play my sweet Mind/Fire Dom, I play it calm and rhythmically, juggling single-target mezzes, sleeps, and DoT's with ease. And let me tell you, managing /Fire's DoT and AoE powers while trying to keep everything asleep too, should be really difficult.. but for me, it's relaxing.. I find my own rhythm in it.

I also play Tankers, because I fit really well into the taking-point pseudoleadership role, which nobody really wants. And cause I like to defend my friends.

I'm sure I could have described all that better, but maybe you get the gist of it.
  16. Gweee-hehehehe!

Excellent post, Steelclaw's Computer Program That Does Sarcastic Things!
  17. I play on Virtue, and only Virtue. I just really enjoy environments when they have that "Warning: Contains Roleplayers" label on em.
  18. Slotting for damage instead of recharge is more efficient on your endurance.. but its effect on your overall damage depends on what other powers you've chosen. If you're a blaster, there aren't many cases where you really need to slot something with recharge. You have so many different attacks that you'll almost never be waiting around for them to recharge.

If you're, say, a Tanker... you're going to need recharge to deal damage consistently.

As for slotting in a little End Reduction, I tend to put one in any power that costs 10 or more endurance. Helps quite a lot.
  19. My favorite tag so far is "Wittgenstein's banana"
  20. While I agree with the whole "form your own team using all peoplefinding tools available"...

It's fricking impossible to get a team going Redside. Nobody is looking, nobody wants to join, nobody will join if asked. Add in that I don't want to have to do all the team leader crap EVERY time I play a villain, and it's downright painful.

I'm finally to the point where I want to complain about this ****. I can find teams or form teams heroside- it's not the easiest, but at least it's possible. Redside? Yeah, it was tough enough before AE came around, and now it's basically "throw yourself at crappy AE things or play your villains solo"

All the advice like "form your own team" is great and all, but it doesn't necessarily work.

I love using that one. But.. I have so few characters it actually works for that it makes me sad.

And.. I kinda want to make an awesome-looking shadow knight character now too. @_@
  22. I sorta treat my builds like everything else in life. I weigh the pros and cons, think deeply, and throw that all out to go with what feels right.

Of course, "what feels right" is often very similar to "what performs pretty well," but the numbers are really more of a guideline to me. I don't get hung up on my build having 5% less effective survivability than another. On my Mind/Fire Dom, I slotted Mesmerize for damage instead of, like, mezzing, and every day I'm super-happy I did that. My Dark/Regen scrapper has the Leadership pool, cause I felt that'd be cool for her to have. I don't care that it gives like 3% less damage and 1% less to-hit than a defender's Leadership would. It's still good!

So yeah. I suppose my answer is "whatever"

Hah, I made an idea for one of those a while ago, too. :3

This just in, I discovered that Thesaurus.com says that Pink is a vague synonym for Health and Well-Being. HELL yes, I am awesome.

I'm unlikely to get excited about anything involving PvP; it's just not my bag.
How could I have forgotten this?!

I don't care about more generic men with guns. Not even Fascist men with guns and vamipres and werewolves. We already HAVE those, and they're already boring. Making them German too is hardly amusing at all. (Okay, I like saying Ubermenschen{Possible spelling corrections: Dismemberment, Trenchermen, Lumbermen, Accouterments})

I don't care about more generic men with guns. Those aren't the sort of thing the world's most prestigious heroes should be caring about- we're fending off dimensional invaders and GODS, aren't we? What the hell?

Okay, okay. I'm not neutral about the 5th Column craze. I HATE it.
  25. I'd say that configuring your chat windows is super-duper important and helpful. I'm going to list the chat windows I use, maybe you'll like them too.

    --Top Half of chat window--
Tab: Everything (This tab is occasionally impossible to keep up on)
    -Broadcast
    -Help
    -Local
    -Emote
    -Error
    -Private Message
    -Team
    -Supergroup
    -Coalition
    -Architect Chat
    -Levelling Pact

Tab: Broadcastless (Great for areas like Atlas Park where Broadcast is an unending spammy torrent of doom)
Same channels as above, without Broadcast or Architect Chat

Tab: Silence (Used when you're focused on your team)
    -Team
    -Local
    -Emote
    -Error
    -Private Message

Tab: Combat Info (Not a tab you actually watch, but occasionally you might want to check it for something)
    - Damage Dealt Channels
    - Healing Channels
    - To-Hit Channels
    - System
    - Rewards

    --Bottom Half of Chat Window--
    Tab: DataStuff
(Shows you enemy deaths, loot, XP gained, events like "Unusual monster activity in Croatoa", and when someone buys your auctioned stuff)
    - System
    - Rewards
    - Consignment House
    - Architect Entertainment
    - Hero (or villain) Zone Events

Tab: NPChat (Shows deaths/loot/XP/Events, along with the often-brilliant dialogue that NPC's have.
    - System
    - Rewards
    - NPC Chat
    - Architect Entertainment
    - Hero (or Villain) Zone Events

And that's my chatbar! Once you've set that up, you can go to menu - Options, scroll to the bottom and hit the Save Chat Settings button so you can load it on any new character. Wheeee!

I think my chatbar is a lot better than the insane default one.

Oh, and chat commands for the channels:
    /g - Team
    /hc - Help
    /sg - Supergroup
    /l - Local
    /e or /em or ; - Emote
    /t Dude's Name, - Private Message
