Why did rest get a recharge in the first place?
I'm guessing the answer is something like Jack is a jerk and thinks balance by annoyance is a good idea? -
Quote:Argument fail. That is a supply sink, not an inf sink. Unslotting drives prices down.Enhancements are currently the only real influence / merit sink in the game.
There is a great inf sink idea here. Essentially, 3 millionish inf to unslot 1 IO.
Quote:This is one of the few requests the devs have been adamant about not changing. As others have explained Enhancements have always been intended to be permanent, and the devs have flat out told us on several occasions that they were being generous when they decided to give us the ability to pull 10 enhancements from a build. -
There are tons of these topics popping up. It would be most efficient for everybody as a single go to topic for both buyers and sellers. Post offers here.

Can somebody translate the ones that are name references?
-
So many words for so little info.
Most English teachers, the write so many word types, would be proud -
The most elegant system would be a team search to complement player search.
You could use just the same flags that you do now in player search. -
Quote:But that is a 50 person encounter. Both the Hive Green Mitos and the LGTF Green Mitos use the same Resistance power, so unless Castle is actually creating a new set of powers for the LGTF Green Mitos (and there has been no indication that he is), the Hive Green Mitos will not be staying at Mag 50 (well, 50-ish) protection either. The Hive Green Mitos should effectively have Mag 1 higher Mez protection due to their Rank, but that's it.
The TF has to be finishable by 6, including teams with low control.
Even 10 is probably much too high unless some alternate approach is added.
This is why the original borking of the TF happened. The design intent is to require holds because Hami is supposed to involve lots of ATs. That design intent is totally inappropriate to a TF. -
Quote:A reasonable formula should be able to filter out most attempts to trick it.IIRC this question was asked before, and the general answer was "No, because it's too exploitable." Though I don't know how it's any more exploitable than the current setup, since a team could (if they so desired) start a TF, log out for an hour, and then come back to finish it up just to increase the complete time. But I doubt there's much of this going on, because obviously the people who do speed runs are too impatient to try this strategy. I mean I agree with you, but I think they've already said No.
For example, just ignore any TF fail that is considerably shorter or longer than the average success, or any in which most of the team is not there. That way they would have to get a near full team to sit and quit, synchronized, within the average. Thus it would take much more effort than simply doing it. -
If you ask me it sounds like a terrible idea. I like origin being free.
-
If this means what I think it does (autocomplete means less search spam as users type), it could be even more efficient if it just required you to press enter or click search as opposed to spamming searches automatically.

Quote:You didn't include the ability to right click and get info, which can be a very big deal with some of the items, especially temp powers.1. The most recent transaction(s) in-progress or most recent items bought or sold should be auto-magically placed at the top of the appropriate tab (to include the ALL tab also) and not the bottom like the current design. (High)
2. The TAB key should advance the cursor from "bid price" to "quantity" (High)
3. The ESC should clear the field in which the cursor is active (High)
4. Please bring back the "transaction state" colors. Specifically, on the ALL tab, shade each item/row in the following manner: Bright Green for BOUGHT, Medium Green for BIDDING, Bright Blue for SOLD and Medium Blue for SELLING. Grey for STORED is wai. Color each tab name accordingly, as well. [See Smurphy's posted graphic upthread] (High)
5. Move the "Other" category back to the top of the recipes listing as opposed to alphabetizing it within the entire recipes listing as it is now. (High)
6. Implement a "classic" market U/I option if at all possible. (High)
7. Let us opt-out of persistent bids or remove persistent bids all together. (High)
8. Selecting a category in the left hand tree should narrow down search results accordingly. (High)
9. Implement the ability to search with each of the left-pane categories. (High).
10. Upon clicking a left-pane category, the search bar/field should be cleared and cursor placement should default at the left justify position therein. (High)
11. Implement persistent market U/I dimensions (High)
12. Implement "INF marks" at which we would receive transaction fee warning notifications. E.g., >=100K, >=500K, >=1M and >=5M. A discrete slide bar (like the one already used in the main U/I for changing font size) could be used for this.
13. When placing bids, there is no obvious/intuitive feedback that your bid has been placed. Alternative: Have the item flash Medium Green (to imply "Bidding" like in #4 above) two or three times before it auto-magically "slides over" to the actual BIDDING tab.
14. Let the user opt-out of receiving the "salvage warning" notification for common recipes. That is, the user would still receive the warning for all other recipes unless the user opts-out of the warning completely.
15. Implement the ability to minimize/contract an item in inventory after you have maximized/expanded that item.
16. Implement the ability to search for "For Sale OR Bidding" at the same time without using the FIND button workaround. Note: This could be a bug.
17. Add "up and down" arrows for the "quantity box"
18. The user should be able to color customize her/his market U/I just like the user can do currently with the "main" U/I.
19. Implement the classic U/I "string search" functionality
20. Give Temp recipes their own tab with the left-pane expansion
I would also propose that clicking the tree SHOULD NOT refine a search to a specific type as it did before, but rather there should be a dropmenu that lets you specify what type you want to search. It would be more consistent with the level and rarity search options.
There should also be no "invisible" search settings. For example, if you search a specific item, like a recipe, then edit the search bar and search again, you will still be searching recipes only, even though you just entered text, so there must be some kind of invisible recipes setting.
What do you mean by #10? -

I tried this... and discovered that most of the random statements were inappropriate to most situations or just not that funny. What I want is a guide to WRITING them.
-
Since the subject has come up, even after this is addressed, could you guys please revise the merits formula to take failed TFs into account? It's incredibly unfair.
-
Quote:Can somebody explain this? Does it infinitely spawn exp or what?
Removed Koago (of the Minions of Igneous group) from the list of selectable bosses. Any missions that contain this critter may now be invalid. -
Quote:It's actually the opposite. Brutes would get less benefit from it than any others due to their low base stats, and proportionally even less since they are buffed to start with.you'd run the risk of having Kinetic Melee become the new Super Strength, a set that supercharges itself without the need for any outside assistance.
That is true of SS too. It's just that Scrappers and Stalkers don't get SS. -
I don't even know how to respond to that insult, especially since I didn't specify which they copied. WOW being solid as a base is very much debatable opinion.
-
That's the big thing. This game is more unique than the others, which is among its best advantages.
Even CO included lots of cliched MMO features that don't particularly work with it. -
Now THAT is a taunt. I can actually believe it would get their attention rather than just being a gameplay mechanic. And it looks ridiculously cool.
-
I like this particular bio quite a lot. It makes him sound morally ambiguous quite effectively.

Awesome suggestion.
Demand for respecs is too high precisely because of IOs.
We want a way to switch IOs.
The economy needs some inf sinks.
The market needs more supply.
This idea solves 4 things at once! Elegant!
Quote:It would be much simpler and better at increasing supply to simply buy it straight from the fixed price menu. There's no need to make it bind either, since it is a fixed price. How it works is that when the person crafts it, it creates
The salvage required would all be cheap (ANY 6-8 white salvage of ANY level), the crafting cost would scale at 1/3 the price of everything posted above until it hit the final permanent crafting cost of 1/3 of 3,000,000.
As you can't trade it, it's bind on creation. The resulting IO would be stuck in your tray. (They could increase the tray to 20 if necessary, but not required)
It should be:
Buy from fixed price
Slot it
DONE!
I don't understand why people want to make MMO features annoying for no reason.
Quote:As much as I'd like it, I don't see the devs going for it when they stand by so firmly on keeping us locked into our enhancements.
What does it accomplish? It would be an inf sink with SOs, but with IOs it is more of a supply sink.
Quote:I'm suggesting yes there be a small chance the Zero IO will eat your IO and you get nothing. A small risk like 1% anything to make it not just a pay to get your IO back. Because if that is all it is then way bother with a Zero IO in the first place just have some NPC that can unslot stuff for a price.
What possible reason would there be?
You'd also be scaring people from using it, thus canceling its inf sinking supply increasing capabilities.
Quote:you might not be but this idea is not really about you it is about the game as a whole and as such we need to take into the account how it will impact people like framers. Who with this system could IO out there farm build and farm away until a patch or issue makes that build less effective. They could then unslot every IO for the low low cost of some Inf (after all these are farmer they are swiming in it) and useing the new mail system mail them to there new epic farming toon.
Quote:The only one that comes to mind, and probably not popular, is a limit/cool down timer.
As I understand it, one of the reasons for a limit of 10 in a respec is to act as an inf sink. I could see someone using this to get around that sink by stacking up on these IOs and using them to replace a number of sets. They could easily do the same with multiple respecs. Will it have any impact overall? No idea and don't really want a timer either, but just tossing it out since it is being asked for discussion.
So if there was a limit of say 6 (the max slotting for one power) IO set with a time between (24 hr/1 wk?) between the 6 uses. This idea would be great to replace one set for a power already slotted and not hassle with the full respec process.
Like I said, it is not an inf sink to have locked enhancements. It's a supply sink. Unlocking actually sinks inf through market fess if you try to trade the IO you get. -
Neutral improvements: (fixing things that were bad)
Accolades Exemping - No more perma-30 until you get everything.
Patron Respecs - Led to me actually using them.
Elec Armor Energize - Very elegant solution to the set, really impressive that they did this while obeying the cottage rule
Oro Replays - Even if they are kind of clunky (let us invite people!)
Dominator Buff - They're much better
Postive improvements: (actual additions)
Fautline - I never even went there before Issue 8, but it's a great zone
Co-Op Teaming - Plus how fun the ITF is
Difficulty Settings - Customize as you wish
Issue 9 - Inventions & Market
Power Customization - I wasn't excpecting to care about it, but it's amazing -
Any AT name: Blast/Defense
Guardian: Buff/Melee
Trickster: Control/Defense like Faultline (with some minor attacks in place of 1 or 2 powers, so they can solo)
