Gun + Sword would make a better Assault set, and I would totally /sign on that.
But absolutely /unsigned for a Scrapper set. You're not getting a variety of ranged attacks in a melee AT where other sets are lucky to get one, even if you do sacrifice Build Up to achieve it.
-----
Claws and Kinetic Melee each have one ranged attack, and Spines has one ranged attack and a wide-ish PBAoE power. They don't all have 3 ranged attacks doing moderate to high damage. -
I was very "meh" on it. I think I actually preferred X3.

I never saw the big deal about storage when doing respecs anyway. All the enhancements are either going right back in (or possibly into a different power) or are cheap enough that I don't mind the loss (SOs, common IOs, occassionally something cheap from a set that didn't work the way I'd hoped).
I know some people like to strip IOs from one character to give over to another, but that's not really the intent of the respec system is it? -
That shouldn't matter. Your ownership of the Steampunk gear is in absolutely NO way tied to the CoH installation on your hard drive.
-
Oh god, signed a million times.
(Although I admint I'm not entirely sure what being a solo player or not has to do with respeccing.) -

Quote:What do you expect him to do, walk over to NCSoft's headquarters and push the "let South America buy booster packs off our store" button? You patently ignore the complaints coming from South American players why?
The situation sucks, it really does. But all Z or Beastyle or anyone else employed by Paragon can do is relay the complaints to their parent company, who actually runs the store. They have no control over the store itself. It's like complaining to a guy who works at KFC that the grocery store by your house doesn't carry Pepsi products--Pepsi owns KFC, but the KFC worker can't exactly tell Pepsi how to run things... all he can do is tell his boss, who can tell his boss, until it either gets up to someone who can do something about the problem, or stops at a person who doesn't give two shakes.
And if the crappy service NCSoft contracted to sell their product in South America is still paying the cash for their end of the contract, what motivation does NCSoft have to break that contract for an unknown but unfortunately relatively small portion of the playerbase who would receive a benefit? -

Are you in /sgmode? Do you have it set to show your SG's chest emblem?

The point that Rajani Isa was trying to make is that the "Player Questions" forum is for players asking other players for help. Technically, this thread should probably be located in the Suggestions forum.
Even more technically, you should probably PM one of the board administrators or Black Pebble to (politely) state your case and why you feel this is hurting business, so they can pass it on to the people who actually run the store (who are completely separate from any entity that runs this game or message board). The store site is actually run by Paragon Studios' parent company, NCSoft, and Paragon can't do much about the format they use. -
So, you're starting a new thread to discuss an ongoing thread, in a separate area from where the ongoing thread that pertains to the problem is correctly located?

No, but apparently my eyes skipped back up and read the pre-beta info twice. But thanks for implying I'm an idiot after making a simple mistake.
(Edit: Apology accepted. I probably over-reacted.)
Anyway, looks like everybody's going to be requesting that everyone slot Destiny heal for this one, much the same way everyone asks you to slot Lore Seers for MoLambda now. -
Wow, good pack for a good price. If I didn't already have it on both my accounts, I'd be grabbing at it like zombies at a meat packing plant.

Quote:Can't you just quick beat him up right before you finish saving the third reactor to get this badge? The 90% HP damage taken every 30 seconds will require an incredibly tuned team that will be at the debt cap IF the trial succeeds (I don't think most will get beyond the 2nd reactor if they attempt this).
I have to agree, this is how I read it as well. -
Just found out the other night that the arc in my signature isn't working because one of the NPCs is named "Lieutenant Nelson" (after my good buddy Eric Nelson and patterned after his main character). "Nelson" is apparently copyrighted.
I assure you that the character in question is not, in fact, a surly yellow pre-teen boy in a torn denim vest that points and laughs "HA-ha" at the misfortune of others, and is in fact a female Spines/Invuln Scrapper in a Longbow costume. -
Simple solution: don't drop from your SG when you shift to villain-side. You won't be able to access your base, earn new prestige or any other SG-related things, but you won't be forced to drop from the group either. And when you return as a hero, you regain full access to your SG and nothing will have changed (including your prestige counter).
If you DO drop from your SG for whatever reason, your prestige counter will be permanently lost. -

I'm only buying on one account until they allow us to recolor hair with the new hats. (I want to make a steampunk leprechaun on my second account, and brunette hair doesn't really work for him.)

Quote:I had zero lag on the Victory surge, but on the Freedom one, I could bearly move across an unoccupied zone (Galaxy City). I stuck both my accounts in a mission so they could add to the concurrent users total and then took my girlfriend out to dinner.the lag was pretty bad on victory when the event happened, i couldnt imagine how much worse it would be on the freedom one
(The restaurant screwed up her steak the first time and the waitress didn't come back for 20 full minutes, so the manager comped it--got another steak, and I only had to pay for her drink! S'been a good evening!)

Ta da!
You could read this post from Black Scorpion that says they're adding a menu option to disable movement speed buffs from other players (but you still get, say, the recovery buff from Speed Boost). -
Quote:Like Tech said, I agree with just about everything in your post except for two things.I figure I might as well put it here, too. I have a few problems.
1) You left out the Steampunk hats not having colorable hair. I think I have maybe two dudes with dark brown hair--the rest are either grey, blonde, light brown or black (or are unnaturally colored). This is my #1 problem with the Steampunk pack (and I'd really like to make a redheaded steampunk leprechaun with the new steampunk derby).
2) I personally DO like faces that show a bit of emotion. I think there's been a trend in the newer faces to look soulless (I've heard others describe them as "faces like dolls"), and I wish there were more options like the default male face introduced in CoV with the snarky smile. Having a face with some emotion to it can showcase things in the character's personality that either highlight other costume options or reveal things the rest of their costume might not show.
My main villain, dressed simply in a black tank top and grey cargo pants, uses the "snarky face" mentioned above to show that he means to cause mischief. My cowboy uses one of the scowling faces in conjunction with a wide-brimmed hat to show that he's a loner at heart. My goth demon uses the straight-eyebrowed frown (one of the mystic faces) as a complement to his other goth attire.
While I agree with the first paragraph of Sam's point #5 (the new faces certainly show more definition, especially around the nose, but generally look worse than those introduced in Issue 15), I would argue that they continue the trend of looking like soulless doll faces rather than those of a superpowered avatar of justice/malice. -
I think I figured it out: Devs don't hate Villains... Devs hate Masterminds!
Anywho, yes, I totally agree with the suggestion in the OP. Masterminds have enough problems to deal with being the anchor point for a bunch of suicidal pets. Given what's now being made available for all other buff sets, there's no reason to continue punishing their endurance bars. -
Quote:I wouldn't doubt those will be coming in later issues once the rest of the Incarnate Slots have been released... but for now, they want people to keep working at the four newest ones. And how about vouchers for the rest of the incarnate slots, not just alpha? By far the most tedious part of the system right now is actually unlocking the slots.
Anyway, totally /signed on Ian's suggestion. -
I want Energy Aura on Tankers (along with Broadsword) too... but then again, a Tanker slapped my mother in front of me when I was just a child.
I very much want Energy Melee/Energy Aura ported to Scrappers, though.
I'd also like to run a Plant Control/Poison Controller in as near a future as possible. It just sounds thematic and awesome.
