I don't think case by case works because.... well people are biased
[/ QUOTE ]
I disagree with this statement in this case because it isn't a player decision. The Devs will be making it and I don't think they would be biased towards a commemorative salutation based on a community event regardless of what it is. -
[ QUOTE ]
Besides, there are lots of history plaques like that--ones that mark where something significant occurred. I don't see why highly-supported player events can't be as much of the game history as any authored storyline that has a plaque commemoration.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree with _mr3_ on this as well as many other that have supported this request.
The fact that it's been primarily on Champion should really have no bearing on the final decision as CoX history is (game) world wide. This would be an honouration to the community as a whole.
Another reason I support this is because it is inspiring. We, the players as well as the Dev team, laud the game as a social one. Furthermore, countless forumites and new-comers have stated repeatedly that the community here is one of the friendliest and helpful of all MMO's.
Player events have been a highlight of my time here for the past five years and an event such as TT has been and continues to be a welcomed and anticapted pleasure to participate in month after month.
So don't see this as a server event. I would prefer to look at it as a product of community service to all players brought about by the love of the game and a dedication to assisting others. Through answering questions about methods of play, builds, AT sets, and performing tasks which normal team play usually doesn't encompass develops the sense of comraderie by proxy that TT has given many players over the years.

And this does what for whom exactly? -
Yeah, so now when we see a toon with those powers we don't know if they're a newbie, concept build or an 'elite' pvper.

The following is from another thread with regards to a returning player asking about the reasons for the i13 pvp changes.
[ QUOTE ]
Another reason given was they wanted every single AT to be equal in damage & survivability.
[/ QUOTE ]
If this is true, and by all accounts it appears to be, then that is the most ridiculous decision ever made in this game. It goes against the very foundation of which the game was built around.
Years ago we heard over and over from States and other devs that characters shine in team play and that the game wasn't built to be centered on single player design.
Now we know that fight club was very popular on certain servers and to an extent even many arena matches were exclusively 1v1. Sure this was in part for rated matches. In this aspect of gameplay even the pvpr's knew that the scales were tipped towards certain ATs over others.
What I'm trying to get across is that in team based pvp, especially casual zone or larger arena matches FOTM builds were still noticeable, but less so because a fairly good team based pve player, or a group of them, could be put in a pvp team and with a little understanding that players won't stand still and get beat on as critters do, could end up doing fairly well in a match versus similar skilled players.
Now of course ladder teams/ sg's would kick their butts, but I'm talking about the players that the Dev's say they want to pvp more -- casual pvpr's or newbies to pvp. Back in the day I could take any of my characters and if I got on a team of varied AT's it was hella fun. Sometimes it went bad, but it was still fun.
Large scale pvp, even the idea of it, is where the game was at it's pinnacle for me. That doesn't happen. I think I've heard of 1 or 2 sg vs sg arena battles on my server. I've heard it said on these boards that even in base raids the AT's and builds don't really matter as much. I believe, in part, that this is because with more allies the holes can be filled making it harder for a wipe or loss. In these cases it comes down to skill and not how a player developed their character.
There should always be some AT's that will almost always beat another in 1v1. That's the nature of having different AT's. To me personally a 1v1, while it can surge the adrenaline, is nothing compared to a large scale scenario.
IMHO it wasn't the so much the initial design of pvp that made people deter from it, it was the lip smackery that came with zone pvp. People weren't used to getting beat and lipped off at the end of a fight or duel. But that's not what I wanted to discuss here.
To sum up I wanted to say that changes made in i13 didn't accomplish anything except make the people that did enjoy pvp pissed off. Some of them, perhaps, don't like change or adapting although that is the nature of an MMO. Players need to adapt, though adapting to a system that is less fun and a heck of a lot more confusing than before is not good for the game or the playerbase.
There were a lot of whacky changes made to pvp in i13 that has almost every player scratching their heads over. If this is the beginning of a revamp of the pvp system I truly hope that we see where the end solution is headed soon or at the very least we get some dialogue from the Devs regarding pvp and what they're doing to make it better. Keeping in mind that the game is rooted in team play.
Yeah, yeah tl;dr -
Sometimes it seems she can't get enough of her own voice.
It's awesome though, she's pretty smiley; always has one for us when she wakes up. -
Our soon to be 4 month old (she will be next week) started real giggles on Tuesday. That's when I first saw/ heard her do it and mommy did last night.
I'm comfortable enough to say it was sooo cute! Quite a spectacular little laugh, I must say. -
Ah, the mezmories. I remember this thread.
To be on topic... I killed nobody in pvp last night 'cause RV was empty. Shocka. -

But spanking you is enjoyavle for both the spankee and spanker.
Nice to see you on the foums more often Showe. All teasing aside you are always great fun to PVP with in SC.

Though it's been a while since I've been in game, or here for that matter, I whole heartedly concur! -
Yes. All pvp zones exemp/sk you to the max level of that zone.

Once your faction (hero or villain) has control of all the pillboxes you get extra Prestige for killing the opposite faction. The longer you control all pillboxes the more Prestige you earn per kill. The slider is on a timer and goes up to 1000!!!
And robots are cool. -

CoX will be a better place with EM adjusted.
[/ QUOTE ]
That may be true, but /em currently is a good balancer for regen stalkers and scraps.
I'm not saying nerf one for the other though, believe me. I do think /em in some capacity may need some tweaking. We'll be able to tell a little better after the toggle drop changes. I would much rather see the other secondaries raised somehow to compensate for the disparity.
I am waiting for the fear to sink in over -

We ARE going to do something to the 22+ mobs...
And I'm definitely going to get to work on that darn mission difficulty slider (since the higher level people love the increased mob levels...)
[/ QUOTE ]
Really?
Thats funny, I seem to recall making numberous posts that emp defenders have a near impossible time with indoor missions BEFORE the recent increase in difficulty.
I can't imagine why any of them would want indoor missions made even more utterly impossible.
OHH, wait, I just remembered.
The only people you listen to are the broken classes, scrappers and blasters, both of whom can easily solo there way through hordes of high level mobs.
Yeah, I can see why your pet classes would want the increased level mobs to stay.
They need to keep uber leveling so you can keep thinking the games too easy and increase the difficulty even more so the non scrapper / blasters can get fuxxxored just a bit more.

Numerous as in 48? I'm not knocking your count at all, believe me, but how much could you have said on the subject?
From the tone of this post I'm not surprised your others were overlooked. -
To compensate for the potential debt to be had, the missions in the zone and the mobs give higher than normal xp return. I don't see this aspect changing.
-
I really can't see why everyone is getting up in a bunch for. The rules of the pvp zones have been the way they are since they released them.
All of you complaining that it's a free for all, no holds barred deal now should realize it's always been this way. Debt from mobs, tp'g have always been legal.
The difference, and it's the crux of the issue as far as I'm concerenedd, is that the majority of of players, especially on Champion, have far more respect, honour, friendship and the urge to have fun than to do any of this most of the time.
We pride ourselves on being the social, friendly and event server regardless of whether or not the rules allowed debt inducing gameplay. Most of us wouldn't do that to our fellow players. I see multiple instances throughout the week where both heroes and villains are apologizing for giving debt or others mentioning in broadcast that they were helping someone on the other faction in order to prevent debt.
I don't see how people are just now realizing that this is the way the zone can be played. The only illegal things to do are bits of outrageous language, hospital/base camping inside their respective safe zones and tp'g others into flaws in the maps. That's it.
Now, if certian individuals want to be rude, inconsiderate, and immature in order to wreck more people's fun than the immediate ones they are affecting they can. My only recourse is to do what I can to help my fellow players to rid those actions of the disruptive ones as best I can or refuse to team with those types of people. Those 2 options are really my only route of legal action.
Don't start saying it's bloody murder in the zones now. For the most part just about every participant plays by the "rules" of social interaction when others are participating in a common hobby. Champion we're better than this. The stupid actions of a few inconsiderate players should not set the norm. -
Sorry to hear you'll be leaving us, Alexa.
It's been a pleasure having you around and you'll be missed.
Best of luck to wherever life takes you. -
May the path be soft underfoot and the wind's gentle breeze keep your brow cool.
G'luck! -

ok let put it this way, me , i dont care about fotms buils or tp to drone,or tp into 20 villians, all is fair in pvp and i never whine or talk smack about it, i got tp to all thos villians too, i didnt care, all is fair, even tp to drones, drones/pwn lol, i have been tp to drones more than once and i even do the kamikaze [censored] to avoid a villian kill me and head myself to drones ( got to try it), if you have such odds against you 20v 8 , wouldnt you do it if you have tp?, now i wasnt leader of my team, and no one said "hey tp those guys to drones" the one tha was doing it , is cose he was getting tp to all of you same way, can you blame him for doing it?, does drones couse debt? when drones did get you debt was a cheap [censored] tactic for sure, but now is fun, comes with camping a enemy base, both sides does it when they can,
Warbug, yea i didnt say " you guys sux cose you used stormies and blasters" i mean that i was hoping for same villians, cose thats what i understand in sirens, i guess is my bad,but that it was fun, it was hell of fun.
pvp is fun and is the same [censored], in any place sirens, bb, warbug , arena, test server, is the same [censored] to me, i do understand one of my team was talking bit more than he should , but then im no nanny, and hepays his [censored] and so do i, you cant control anyone opinions ( but i wish there were someway to tho), you guys were rocking when we were outnumbered and no one on heroes side were talking [censored], im almost pretty sure, sorry when i figth i almost dont pay attention to broadcast, i saw the dirty talking after when, heroes were in middle map, by that time you guys still had a corruptor or 2, i believe life cycle something , and mind dominator something, i really sux with my memory, that for me was the best part of all night, it was perfectly fair in my book, i saw more than 4 stalkers in zone and more than stalkers with that SG, if anyone here know me, they know i dont lie.
Now to end this, yesterday was hell of fun, and i hope for more, just no bragging , no smack talk and [censored].is just pvp and in my book pvp is for fun and to try your best. we did our best in sirens and so you guys did in warbug. who won? thats easy, since i think everyone had fun =).im always up for healthy Pvp.

I think Machete might be stronger than my fire/mace tank, Pang. I even think he's lower level. This is just an observation, nothing more.
Had some fun on the weekend in Warburg when I got an invite from Hippy Hater. It was a a lot of fun, but I think I need more slots in taunt. It just didn't seem to last long, or barely at all, when trying to protect the squishies.
Anyways, practically anytime I saw Machete I would take at least one swing at him. A few times we stood toe to toe for awhile. I'm certain I noticed him causing more damage to me than I did to him. I don't think he ever beat me 1 v 1 ( wretched blasters and stalkers when they see I'm hurt).
After a while it was a little crazy when HVND and LMC brought in a full team or 2. But it sure was good to be a part of and to watch the battles as I leaped in to the beachhead after yet another boat rez. -

That was the fastest level and a half I've gotten in a whle. Great team which yielded great fun. -
Tiandy I should've paid better attention to your sig before.
I didn't know you were Blue Neutrino. I knew you were Gulag, though.
You were the one that fought Kamfer on his Warshade after I duelled him, right? Jeez, if so, where were you that day, Sig, was calling me a liar. Hahah.
I'll team with you anytime.
