I think this thread is doing pretty well. The OP doesn't make any sense at all, but the rest of the thread makes me smile.
Just for the record, I have a long history of a number of different gaming and internet interactions with people from all over the world, some of whom I have met in person, and it's done nothing but enrich my life. The more the merrier I say. -

Yeah, something's been bugged on this for awhile. None of the DE summon swarms anymore.
-
Random rolls are going to be more valuable if you have a large enough sample size, but for some people, the whole concept of random just drives them crazy. They don't handle the uncertainty well, and they just end up feeling ripped off. For those people, I would recommend ignoring random rolls entirely. After all, what's the use of doing something you hate in a game?
-
If you are upset about booster packs, shouldn't you be more upset at the devs/publishers of the game for actually making the decision to do the booster packs than at a random forum dweller who has no power to decide anything?

I never try to increase prices when I fool around on the market. There's plenty of money to be made with the existing price structures.

I've always had stamina on basically every character. Running out of endurance is the opposite of fun for me, so I try to build characters so I never have to worry about endurance. Apparently, this is a moral failing according to some people, but none of us are perfect.
Anyway, it looks like I am going to be doing quite a few respec when i19 comes out, because I have stamina on basically every character I have, and I will definately be able to benefit from it's change to an inherant.
I'm basically continuing to take stamina on characters when I feel it's appropriate, because I am still not interested in running out of endurance if I can avoid it. What's a few more respecs to do when I already have so many ahead of me? I figure a couple more aren't going to kill me. -
Besides, who the heck is going to waste time flipping common salvage when there's so little money in it? Do people really do that?

My policy is to assume that anyone who uses the term fanboy is always wrong. It works really well and saves lots of time.

Quote:Why is an interesting question, but in the long run it doesn't matter. What matters is that some people are offended, and will always be offended, by swearing.Ok..I read most of this thread..and I tried to resist commenting, but just can't. I'm not saying anyone on this thread is wrong..or right. Everyone has made rather decent points in some way or fashion. My question is this. What exactly is it about the F-bomb, or the "S word",...etc. etc. that people find so offensive? Again.. I'm not trying to start a arguement, nor am I talking down to those who happen to find cussing offensive. I'm simply throwing out a thought.. or question.
WHY do people find cussing offensive? Is it because of religious beliefs? If so..no where in any text does any form of lord/god..whatever you wanna call it/him/her..state that the "F-bomb" is a swear/curse word. That was something detemined by society..meaning humans. If its because of the way a person is raised..again..its based on someone's opinions and views being imposed on someone else as they grow up. Once more...I'm not downing anyone beliefs or views, I'm simply asking a question.
What terms does a word have to meet in order to be classified as a curse/swear word? Cause I might wanna make up some new ones. No I have no point in all this. Again, just tossing out a thought. As far as the "children play the game" movement. I get that, but hey.. guess what..my oldest son wants to play CoH...but.. I won't let them. Why? Because I know there are alot of people just like me in the cursing sense that play the game. I curse in front of my kids..not alot.. but it happens.. now heres the important part..I don't let them do it. If I hear my kids cursing..they get in trouble. "How can you punish them for something you do yourself?" Easy.. I'm 31 and daddy, he's 8 and my son. Meaning...my house, my rules. My point here is.. letting your child play CoH is the same as letting them watch a movie alone.. a movie that you know NOTHING about. You have no clue what they might see and/or hear, so maybe you should think twice before letting junior hang out in Pocket D.
You can do whatever you want with this information. You can swear anyway and not care that they are offended, or you can modify your behavior because you don't want to offend, but you are going to have to make this decision without ever knowing the why, I think. -
The conspiracy theories in this thread are delicious.

I'm pretty sure that the reason power pool customization is delayed is that it would take a major update to the concept behind character creation.
As it stands currently, you can customize all the powers in your primary and secondary that you could ever get throughout the life of the character in the character creation screen(s) when you create a new character. If you have power pool customization, you'll need to either allow people to customize pools that they might never take, or not allow them to customize until they have selected the pool power, or something else I haven't thought of. Any way you look at it, power pool customization is probably going to require a major update to the character creation system.
In contrast, it's pretty easy to imagine alternate animations working quite smoothly with the systems already in place for character creation. My guess is that's why they went for alternate animations first... because it's easier. -
In my experience, it almost always is worth it. Usually it's not even close.
-
I'm quite pleased with the alternate animations. What a nice surprise.

Quote:Just for the record, it's all one market, across all servers and since i18, for both heroes and villains. So whatever is happening on your server is happening on all the servers. It's intuition.
My intuition tells me that the Dev's cut the drop rate on purples to force people into hero mission grinds.
Hence the price of your average purple on my server has doubled in the past month. Even the formerly cheap "proc" purples that were selling for 30 to 50 million pre expansion are now selling for 300 to 400 million. -
A good thing to think about as you go is the question of what you want to enhance with your set bonuses. If you look at sets, you can see that you can get set bonuses that enhance almost any aspect of your powers, but through trial and error, people who slot sets have determined that there are a few things that you can get from set bonuses that can make your characters MUCH tougher and harder hitting.
At the top of the list are two things. The first is global recharge. Having all your powers recharge much faster gives you a lot more flexibility in your build. For instance, you need fewer attacks if they recharge faster, so you can use more power selections in other areas. The second thing is defense. Adding to your defense, especially ranged defense, can make your squishy characters a lot less squishy and your tough characters practically unstoppable.
You'll notice that almost all the truely expensive set IOs enhance recharge or defense or both.
Other useful things to look at include max endurance, endurance recharge, regeneration, accuracy and damage. -
Thunderstrike also goes over the ED damage cap buy a good amount, if I remember right.
-
Let's not forget defense, especially ranged defense, for squishies such as doms, corrupters and blasters.
-
You guys do realize that after every new issue, people start complaining about accuracy, right? It's as regular as the tide.
-
And of course, after I posted this I figured it out. The missions are down in the 25-29 range because they are in Sharkhead, so they top out and a higher level.
So, nevermind. -
I moved my badging hero over to the villain side, and I've been running around grabbing villain badges. I've been using Ouroboros to flash back to the villain badge missions to get accomplishment badges.
I went through the 1-15 category in Ouro and did the 4 badge missions there, no problem.
But when I look at the 16-19 category, none of the badge missions I expect to see (Paragon of Vice, Seaweed, Strikebreaker and Slag Reaper) are there.
What am I missing? It's probably something really obvious, but I just can't seem to figure it out. Do I need to unlock them in some way?
Thanks for any help in advance. -
There was a power you could get as part of the Valentine's festivities that allowed you to heal others, if I remember correctly.
EDIT: And other power that gave you confuse, I think. -
One of the best things to use against ghouls is knockback. Scatter them all over the map. Bring a stormie. Or two stormies. You just have to think outside the box we've all gotten stuck in.
Strikes me as good game design.
