Mysterious heal badge credit -- Where did it come from?

So I just noticed that my Scrapper has over 42k points of credit towards the first heal badge, and I can't figure out where it came from. I've never used an Amy, I've never completed the Katie Hannon task force so I've never even had an Amy, and I've never done a gladiator match. I don't have any ally heals, and I haven't used any ally heal or rez temp powers, at least not to the tune of 42k points of healing. I do have Siphon Life but it shouldn't be counting.

So where could I be getting all this badge credit from?

Combative healing allies in missions that you escort out of the mission can sometimes count for credit as well.

only other things would be pets from missions, or possibly you confusing someone using temp powers (nectar comes to mind..)

Trying to think of missions that have healing allies, and I can't think of any...I have rescued Ravenstorm from Hollow Point's Council quite a few times but he only heals himself, so not sure if that would count. I will have to check next time I get that one.

Nope, I haven't been confusing anyone.

There was a power you could get as part of the Valentine's festivities that allowed you to heal others, if I remember correctly.

EDIT: And other power that gave you confuse, I think.

Have you used the [Coolant] on the Heroside Respec Trial's Reactor at all?

I wasn't sure. I never really looked. It was worth a shot anyway. We have to explain it somehow! lol

Do you have vengeance, and have you used it?

have you ever rescued Lady Grey in her Vanguard Arc, she has a heal and uses it a lot once the ambush happens.

Yeah I've got a Peacebringer (without the Glowing Touch ally heal power) who has a few thousand points healed to her credit.
I figure it can only be from missions like this one. *shrugs*

Perhaps the mechanism that excludes self heals is bugged? Seen a lot of progress on this badge for my Tank too.

The Fortune Teller from the Negotiator badge mission might be some of it, but at level 14 maximum, it couldn't be for very much. I say this because my Claws/Willpower Scrapper has something like 30 points of progress without having done any of the RWZ missions, the Katie TF, or being high enough to rescue Ravenstorm in a tip mission, and I suppose that I got it from that mission.

I didn't do the Valentine's day missions, I don't think. This character mostly solos anyway, and when I'm on a team I'm too busy killing things to use temp powers on people, so even if I had it I wouldn't have been using it.

I have maybe rescued her in the mission from Serpent Drummer but that one completes once she's rescued, and being /Shields I would have probably clicked out once Lady I'm Going to Kill that Lieutenant Over There started "helping." I doubt I did the mission in Gaussian's arc, as I usually autocomplete the "save the idiot from their own stupidity" missions.

If it is that would definitely explain it.

Ok, the mechanic says healed other heroes, but I will tell you now from personal experience with my regen crapper, dark armor brute and stone tank, self heals also count. They honestly shouldn't, but they do.

Now don't go setting your heals to auto or anything, it only gives credit when you actually healed damage, so if you're at full or have max HP boosted and you're only healing the boosted part, it won't give credit. That's why you don't see that many melee characters with healing badges. None of the 3 characters I mentioned actually have the healing badges, but they have a lot of credit since they heal themselves often. Actual regen doesn't count either, only green numbers from click heals like Reconstruction, Dull Pain, Dark Regeneration, Siphon Life and Earth's Embrace (and any other click heal used when you are actually damaged).

Edit: I forgot, inspirations also do it.

I would like to play one of these. I have years of experience in this powerset.

I'd agree with that. My NW only has vengeance, which is applicable for a team heal, but I have quite a bit more healing badge points then all my task force vengeances.

Vet pets that heal? I know back when they were testing the 48 month vet pets they experimented with giving them a little "micro-brawl" attack power but never heard of them having a heal power bugged or otherwise.

You sure you weren't thinking about Gladiators?

I don't know i don't have one myself but my friend had the little fairy one and it was earning him credit toward heal badges. This was back around when they lowered the amount needed for the badges and i was wondering if they where going to nix the gladiator credit so he was messing around with what would get credit and when his pet was in use he was getting credit.

Wow, I guess you learn/hear something new everyday...
I'm not denying what you're saying is true - just never heard of it before. *shrugs*

I would not have noticed that regardless because I managed to get Empath on my main about a month before they lowered the original requirement. In fact I half-jokingly think the Devs lowered it when they did because they knew I was finally done with it.

Anyway that'd be a pretty cool "side effect" considering these vet pets supposedly only provide little buffs, not heals. I assume whatever was causing that was quickly fixed because that'd be a pretty nice trick for people wanting heal badges.

You know i should say i think this was in beta and like i said it was second hand so i don't know the circumstances so who knows might not be true. He said it to me so i figured i would through it out there as a possibility.

Yeah it's possible that along with the little "micro-brawl" power they considered giving them a little "micro-heal" power as well. Maybe if that power existed and was left in the code that somehow a bug could have happened that allowed it to function again.

I realize that sounds semi-impossible but you have the remember the Devs hardly ever completely "delete" anything from the code. If they develop something that they decide they don't want to use they'll usually just let it lie dormant in the code rather than totally remove it. This could just be a case of a bit of "zombie code" that was allowed to work again as a bug. Who knows?

The Vet pets don't heal. Your friend meant that if you use a heal on one of those pets, it grants you extremely large credit toward the healing badge. Even though they only have 10hp, you can heal them for thousands, and it all counts.

If you get a small group of people together with their pets and start running a healing aura, you can get the badges much faster than the standard Gladiator Heal farm.

I /bugged it a long time ago. As far as I know, it has not been fixed yet.

Edit:
I just re-tested and it still works. Healing a pet shows about 4x the healing above it's head, and it all counts toward the badge.

Here are some pics:

It's one a "regular" base hit point that counts, according to the progress on the characters I've been using this mechanism on for SG healing badges. As in, my defenders got their unmodified base hp at the level they were at even if the green number appearing over the veteran pet was a lot larger. I have no idea whether it is AT-specific base hit point or the "normal" base of (at 50) 1070.8970 hit points - I just know that set bonuses or accolades didn't change the amount received. I would lean towards the latter since I doubt AT hp-modifiers would matter. A bunch of veterans with AoE-heals could quickly accumulate both Empath and SG-healing badges using this method. It's fairly fast solo, even.

Also, in response to where the healing comes from, I know for a fact that self-healing mastermind pets accumulate healing towards this badge (well, they did when I was playing that Necromancy/FF that got healing badges). Since Ravenstorm is Dark melee/Dark Armor, both of which include self-heals, I expect that those may count based on previous experience.
