Mysterious heal badge credit -- Where did it come from?

If you get a small group of people together with their pets and start running a healing aura, you can get the badges much faster than the standard Gladiator Heal farm.

I /bugged it a long time ago. As far as I know, it has not been fixed yet.

Edit:
I just re-tested and it still works. Healing a pet shows about 4x the healing above it's head, and it all counts toward the badge.
LOL! Well again like I said earlier I guess you can learn something new every day.

I've noticed whenever I've healed my Vet Pets that the green numbers over their heads always seemed pretty large but I never realized any of that counted for heal badges. Go figure. I doubt I would've gotten much use out of this knowledge since I've had my Empath badges for a long time but I guess if you still need to get healing badges then you can have fun with this.

I frankly never understood why they never nerfed Gladiator healing but maybe the same kind of problem that keeps them from nerfing that keeps them from nerfing Vet Pet healing too. Whatever works (or doesn't work) I guess.

I have no idea whether it is AT-specific base hit point or the "normal" base of (at 50) 1070.8970 hit points - I just know that set bonuses or accolades didn't change the amount received. I would lean towards the latter since I doubt AT hp-modifiers would matter. A bunch of veterans with AoE-heals could quickly accumulate both Empath and SG-healing badges using this method. It's fairly fast solo, even.
Yeah. You are right. I had forgotten about that. I did test it out a long time ago and found that it caps just over 1050 credit per target. I guess since my aura above didn't go much higher than that, I didn't do the exact math to realize that 100 of that in my picture didn't count. lol

That's still better than your average heal farm.

there seems to be a bug with the credit counter. on a brand new out of the box sg which had only been started for 1 day, we had 246 kills towards the 250 for PvP. no one had been PvP'ing. when 2 of us went in and killed each other the counter reset to the correct amount of kills.

I have a DA scrapper toon and use DR quite often and have.... 6 points toward the heal badge. have never, ever figured out where those 6 points came from and I first remember seeing it last year.

Now don't go setting your heals to auto or anything, it only gives credit when you actually healed damage, so if you're at full or have max HP boosted and you're only healing the boosted part, it won't give credit. That's why you don't see that many melee characters with healing badges. None of the 3 characters I mentioned actually have the healing badges, but they have a lot of credit since they heal themselves often. Actual regen doesn't count either, only green numbers from click heals like Reconstruction, Dull Pain, Dark Regeneration, Siphon Life and Earth's Embrace (and any other click heal used when you are actually damaged).

Edit: I forgot, inspirations also do it.
I'll go out on a limb and say you are wrong. Especially since I know for a fact that inspirations do not "also do it".

If self-healing click powers counted my Fire/Fire tank with Healing Flames would be an Empath by now.

Yes, and I'll tell you why. You get healing credit when 2 conditions are met:

1) The critter doing the healing 'counts' as 'you'. So you count as you and your pets also count as you (for example, you get kill credit and rewards when they defeat an enemy).

2) The critter who is being healed has to count as 'not you'. For this purpose, pets count as 'not you'. So a healing pet healing ITSELF will count. A healing pet healing another pet will count. A healing pet healing YOU will NOT count.

P.S. Referencing another post, and based on the above, healing yourself does NOT count. If it did, my /regen scrapper would have gotten Empath a lot easier.

Since Ravenstorm is Dark melee/Dark Armor, both of which include self-heals, I expect that those may count based on previous experience.
Ravenstorm is Martial Arts/Dark Armor actually, but he does have Dark Regeneration, so I will just blame him.

And I learned something. I thought pets healing me would count. Guess not.

They're certainly not intended to do so if you click them, whether they do if you use them on pets I don't know but would imagine that should be allowed.

I suspect the imaginary damage from Illusion may also count when it wears off - assuming you haven't killed the target of course.

Using inspirations on yourself doesn't count, and never has. Using inspirations on your mastermind pets DO count, and always has. The person I was responding to was claiming that inspirations used on their own characters (scrappers) counted. It doesn't.

As someone with an Illusion/Empath controller that has been active for nearly the last 5 yearrs, I can verify that critters healing imaginary damage doesn't count either.
