Will I'll tell you what I'm doing now, I'm going to change all my builds and reorder my slots since I can now choose 3 new powers, wasn't thinkin about my fire/kin yet tho.
-
Thanks for the replies, and I'll take all that into account, at this point I'm going to hold off for a bit, it sounds way too depend on micro-management. I am looking for a combo to keep me busy, but not super busy. Got a 50 dm/sd and a 50 fire/sd so that'll be fine for now.
-
Quote:Indeed, that's what I got as well as what I was thinkin. With a perma Hasten build F/K with 10 FS's you can get 251.2 points of dmg before enemy resist. Minus Softcapped Def Unless your really shooting for it. Compared to a Perma Hasten Softcapped F/K/Stone doing a 251.8 with fissure at 10 FS's.
So i can see it becomeing a alternative but Fissure still recharges 3 seconds faster(not aracna time) then Dark Oblit with the recharge im running (around 170%) so Stone will still be king imo due to the extra .6 that will round up instead of Dark Oblits .2 that rounds down. -
So I was thinkin about make a new kin Scrap, but was wanting to know what people thought about kin/regen/soul before I draw up the plans and made the concept, anyone have a fair assessment of regen and kinetics together?
-
I'm going to have to agree with Arcana on this and say that the devs in question only really look at the numbers, rather than just the feel, I can only think of a hand full of times that they changed a set due to feel, survivability and or under performing, or using all the mentioned. Not so much due to the feel, or as I'll call them "Equal Debuff Resistance Rights." Or any type of interrogation for that matter.

I'd do a search on the web for getting mids hero builder to load on windows 7, that's what I did and figured out what I needed to do. Maybe even type in what your computer is telling you and put mids hero builder after.
-
If I'm not mistaken Windows 7 already has the framework, there must be something I'm not explaining right... Man.

Ok all I'm going to say holy cow, slotting for def for smashing and lethal is bad, but possible.
I've thought about it a little and decided that unless there's something you don't understand then I wont go into a lot of detail.
First, you got 46% to s/l def which is what a lot of damage is in the game. recharge and damage isn't the best but you got a little plus a lot of procs to fire off at a time. You also have 71% to s/l in resist, which means if you do get hit for s/l you'll take so little damage it will be laughable. Plus with kins -att effect they'll be doing even less damage. No real range to speak of, but you'll be in close range more than anything anyway. Your end drain is ok for having fire, and even better you have consume for end recovery. The real problem is all the IOs required, and alot of Kinetic combats are needed.
You have more than enough KB pro and imm pro. Again any questions I'll post as soon as I see them. -
Ok another thing you can do, is do the same thing, but instead go to properties and then go to... Compatibility and look down to a checkbox that says Run this program as an admin under privilege level. Almost done with build.
-
Ok, I have little to no time with the combo and really haven't built a plan for this kind of toon. I do however have good build building skills and knowledge on how powers work for the most part. I'll build you a plan and explain what I am doing.
As for the mids builder problem, I have had the something happen and know what to do.
Windows 7 is based even more on permission then most windows before it in attempt to combat a lot of viruses. So what you need to do is first, you need to download the program via Foxfire. Then when the download window comes up you need to right click on it and click on open file location. Once there you need to right click on the file and click run as an admin. then it should work... post if you have success or failure. -

This is by no means perfect and on a negative hand, it's poorly put together, but if you want perfect you got to give me about 3 months.... XD But I've lowered end usage, recharge, and reordered and reslotted alot of powers... some I took, some I switched for the better fitting powers, and now you add some befit to a team if your on one. More Acc is a must, even though you can hit most whites and yellows with 120% acc, I always try for at least 150%. post if you have some questions. -
I'm not going to be a downer on this, so I'll whip you up a build that I would use. I'm not so sure I would use ice, but I'll see what I'll go with.
-
Quote:Very valid and good points, I'm by no means trying to be a jerk or anything, I was just trying to keep the people who seem to think they are better than you and have a lot better opinion from posting foolish stuff. I am by not means saying any of the holds, stuns or confuses are better, but with confuse you do run greater risks. Stun and hold are the "Safe" powers. That's why in my build I've based about 50% of the integration with knockdown. So do you think fear is right up there with the rest?I think you are seriously wrong here.
Confused enemies for all intents and purposes are held. Okay, they may not be immobilized which can possibly be problematic, but by confusing them you are still completely disarming them. A confused boss will stand there and take a beating and not retaliate. If you are lucky, he might even buff/heal you while you do so. If you are luckier, he will have 3-4 pets/pseubopets which will all be confused as well.
The only thing that holds have that confuse does not is that it offers containment and like you already mentioned, immobilizes the enemy. :-) -
Ya afraid so, Dread is right. The recharges are felt on my dm/sd. Since I'm slotted for def, my recharge is not too great. Maybe with enough recharge,it might actually help enough to put you at damage cap after one group. I'll run a build with my current F/k and see if it would be worth it.
-
I totally forgot about procs in my lastest and easily favorite toon now. I feel so dumb... XD But one question, if the power it's self misses, does the proc still have a chance to hit?
-
I've been looking into another god for farming, I'll post a movie when I get there.
-
Now that I think about it a little more, I've realize that the recharge on Mass Confession is completely insane.... 240s just cause it's a Targeted AoE... Mass confuse is indeed better, but it's recharge needs halved... it's over half the time of a t9 on a buff set.... oh and don't forgot that its base acc is 15% less than other confuse powers not in t9 slot as well... very nicely balanced game....
As for the procs, I don't use procs in smoke, flash arrow or any power that has a no aggro flag pinned to it. World of confusion, Mass Confusion, Seeds, all confuse powers get that special proc from the confuse IO set on my toons.
Edited:
Before some of you say something about AoE holds being 240s or how I can't compare confuse powers, I'm going to stop you here.
AoE holds are on a whole different lvl, they can and will stop a baddie from attacking and moving. Where as confuse, doesn't immobilize, stop from attacking, or keep the same exp you get from the baddies.
And All confuse powers do hold one thing in common... they confuse a group or single enemies. -
lol. This set is by no means top dog, and I doubt there will be a set in the future to replace Earth. They are working toward different kinds of control sets so they can get more than cookie cutter sets of boring. I like the dev who worked on this set, and I hope he makes more like it. They have lots of room to expand, and I hope they explore. This set is about in the middle, of unique, cookie cutter, control and damage, oh and utility.
-
Another thing to think about is dominion only effects you, so if the power summons a pet or a pueso-pet it will not effect them.
-
If you can be patient enough. you could make a new toon, and roll a mind/stone/psi Dom like me. I have a strict plan and things will be all to easy, just doing AE and normal Ali mishes, TFs, and what not.
-
I find it funny to see f/ks on a normal team, since most of them try their solo tactic out and get rolled shortly. I've found that f/k's roll better as soloist since they can play with maps at their pace and not have to worry about something not firing at the right time. Too many times has my FS missed it's target cause of the steamroller teams a nukin them before it can be useful.... I usually lead off with flash fire, then with my normal plan. FS is usually 3rd in line and hardly is any use to me or the team.
-
By George I think you've got it, I approve.
You keep the uniqueness and turn DS into a actual useful power, it would be better if they could change DS in a power like snow storm. -
So the recharge can be reduced then... cool.
just not directly.
-
The way the set looks has drivin me away, not the sound.... but the sounds doesn't help. maybe more of a Tesla coil sound would be cool.
-
Martial Manip it is, I approve of this message....
Oh a side note, don't ever listen to Je, just laugh. His/her post are to die for.... XD
