Farm build - Earth Mastery or Soul Mastery?

Broken Voltage

I know that, prior to Going Rogue, Earth Mastery was king of the farm build APPs given its access to Fissure and Earth's Embrace.

However, Soul Mastery now comes along with the addition of Soul Drain and its sweet delicious damage bonus, as well as an equivalent ranged AoE attack to Fissure in Dark Obliteration and Dark Consumption's PBAoE Damage/+End ability (not that the latter is necessary if you're farming using a /Kin, but whatever).

What are the current opinions on the best farmtroller epic power pool?

Dark Consumpion won't help you on a Kin.
Soul Drain won't help you on a Kin.
Dark Obliteration has a 12 second higher base recharge than Fissure.
Dark Consumpion and Soul Drain could be considered more AoE damage except for the fact they have horrendously long recharges.

Ya afraid so, Dread is right. The recharges are felt on my dm/sd. Since I'm slotted for def, my recharge is not too great. Maybe with enough recharge,it might actually help enough to put you at damage cap after one group. I'll run a build with my current F/k and see if it would be worth it.

With a perma Hasten build F/K with 10 FS's you can get 251.2 points of dmg before enemy resist. Minus Softcapped Def Unless your really shooting for it. Compared to a Perma Hasten Softcapped F/K/Stone doing a 251.8 with fissure at 10 FS's.

So i can see it becomeing a alternative but Fissure still recharges 3 seconds faster(not aracna time) then Dark Oblit with the recharge im running (around 170%) so Stone will still be king imo due to the extra .6 that will round up instead of Dark Oblits .2 that rounds down.

Indeed, that's what I got as well as what I was thinkin.

Partly I was looking at the fact that Soul Mastery has three AoE attacks instead of just Fissure in Stone Mastery (although it does lack Earth's Embrace)... But Dread is right, the recharges are quite long--unenhanced, the recharge times are 6 min on Dark Consumption, 4 min on Soul Drain and, as has already been noted, 32 seconds on Dark Obliteration (up 12 from Fissure's 20 seconds). Plus, you can slot an LotG recharge in Stone's armor power.

Anyway, I came to the conclusion that this is what Dual Builds are for. I'll do Fire/Kin/Stone on one and Fire/Kin/Soul on the other and just play with whatever I feel like at the time. I'm only planning to use common/cheap IOs anyway.
