  1. I'm a fan of Hasten at 6 Stamina at 20 and Rage at 22 when leveling so something like.
    01. Punch and RPD
    02. Haymaker
    04. Dull Pain
    06. Hasten
    08. Knock Out Blow
    10. Hurdle
    12. Res Elements
    14. Super Speed
    16. Unyielding
    18. Health
    20. Stamina
    22. Rage
    24. Temp Inv
    26. Res Energies
    28. Invincible
    32. Foot Stomp
    35. Tough Hide
    38. Unstoppable

I feel the natural brute HP with Hasten backed Dull Pain is plenty to beat the easy mode game pre level 25. Once you get there it ramps up a bit but you'll have (almost) all your armor powers in 3 more quick levels anyway. Rage is at 22 because it's basically more annoying than it's worth before you can slot SO strength level Recharge and Stamina Enhancements. The difference, when you are running this build, between 21 and 22 is "night and day."

There are some gaps in there for you to flavor with pools of your choice. I've got 1 build with Medicine pool and another with Fighting. The Medicine pool build is nice on endurance for when you aren't IO tricked out. The Fighting pool with tough+weave is easy mode but rougher on end. You could also make a build where you get tough+weave style benefits from IO's and keep Aid Self or get Darkest Night too, etc.

Seeing that you already are running tough+weave in your current build try Kick at 30, Tough at 41 and Weave at 44 if you want to work them in. Also, since you don't seem to be a fan of Unstoppable you can drop it for Combat Jump to fit your old build even better. I don't think you will need more than Super Speed+CJ+Hurdle to get around, IMO, and you can always flashback a Jetpack or get one from a day job or bank heist or a myriad of other ways.
  2. This thread has some Market forum regulars actually praising the direct purchase option a bit. Might be time for a forum showdown on the topic?

I've run all of the arcs from 20-34 and all are fun, but the Croatoa arcs are especially nice because you never have to leave the zone, unlike most of the other arcs which require running back and forth to the contact.

I love the Freakalympics (boo to lethal resist, imagine a DM scrapper would roll) and its gigantic merit reward, the first mission is kind of a clear all but otherwise goes pretty quick, maybe 1.5 hours if I'm serious.

Starting to do the Villian side arcs with a Ninja/TA MM...17 merits in 1.5 hours doing some 20-24 arcs, I think it feels slower, we'll see.

**XP advice, run the difficulty slider at 1/+1 level/no boss or AV for xp bonus upon mission completion when "ghosting" so many missions.**
Red side is pretty much ALL like Croatoa, mission doors in the same map 9 times out of 10. Very nice!

I'm going to go try your tip on the mission complete bonus. I've been unable to get it to change the bonus at all with a variety of settings from -1/0 all the way up to +3/8.
  4. What are posters supposed to do when it's a Known Issue but they've been asked to post it here?
  5. QoL things like this are always welcome IMO. There are though, as stated vehemently, virulently and venomously, some logistical problems to be worked out. We've added all kinds of elements from other MMO's (loot, rest xp, etc.) so 10-30-60 minute duration buffs as appropriate to the buff would be welcome, I guess?

I agree and, not to be pendantic or symantic, but I think you mean "threat" rather than skill.
  7. That is my experience too, Zombie Man, it had such a strange name I was like, "Zuh?"
  8. After being contacted by Arbiter Kim and asked what missions I saw it on I decided to run a few variety to see if it's happening outside RWZ... I just tested that arc specifically (Code Merlin) on -1/x4/no and got a 49 to drop a 45. The Possessed Scientists were the "Psychic/Rocks" type and a minion was the culprit. The 45 was a Damage recipe. Got a 46 SO while doing that arc too, sheesh that's "wrong" lol.

I've taken to running hero stats and logging my chats to help verify this bug, very handy when you see the bug flash by in a big crowd of AOE. I will try with bosses set to Yes and your settings just to see if maybe it's the "bosses Y/N" causing it. I've also tested it quite a bit in RWZ arcs on my Scrapper now too and see it happening heroside.

Edit: Ran one Code Merlin with 0/x6/y/n, got the ice/earth/forcefield scientists and got 48 and 49 Set Recipe and SO's but did not see a 45 Generic Recipe. There WERE significantly less drops even though spawns were larger than x4 teammates but that is just anecdotal on that part. So I'm still seeing most of the drop bugs sans the generic 45 bug. Going to try it, 0/x6/n/n and see if I get the generic bug.

Edit2: An additional run, at 0/x6/n/n also did not yield a 45 generic. Seems like 0/x6 is the magic bullet? This run had earth/dark scientists though. Wish I could get a consistent set of scientists but it's hard to do that with having to wait for the oro portal to reset between TF resets. I've recorded runs a -1/x6, -1/x7 and -1/x8 and seen the generic 45 recipe bug. It's fascinating, to me, that it's nothing to do with the actual level of the mob or anything, it seems, but rather the a mix of -1 and 0 level modifier and the number of virtual teammates.

Edit3: Ran "Horror of War" the original mission i noticed the bug in, with 0/x6/n/n. Did not see Generic 45 bug. I HAVE seen the bug in this mission on 0/x1 and 0/x2, if I had not then I would say this is completely related to simply setting difficulty to -1. Getting a little burned out testing although I have got some great drops to make up for all this "work" for once. Regardless, these missions have level 49 and 50 mobs in them and none of the 50's seem to be able to drop level 50 recipes. IE: All non-generic recipes drop at 49 whether the mob is 49 or 50. I also have not seen a purple recipe in a week of running this stuff and I usually see them (far?) more frequently than that. I did just get a Respec Recipe though. SO's are also affected, sometimes dropping at 47 off of level 50 mobs and frequently dropping as 48 and 49, "never" 50.

Edit4: WOW, the x6 teammates setting is really weird. It definitely has an effect on the bug and it also seems to really bork the spawns in some missions. Every mission barring the 1st and last mission of "Horror of War" refused to spawn 49's but I also did not see any 45 generics dropping off the 48's, all while using x6 teammates. In conjunction with -1 levels it also caused gigantic ambushes of Rikti drones to swoop in, kind of like the spawns you see rarely with a ton of Drones and a single LT but as ambushes and level 48 heat seeking you and your poor, poor hostage. LOL. I think I'm done data mining this one, it's easily reproduce able with a simple -1/x2 setting.

Edit5:And in the "it just goes to show" pile, I just got a purple recipe on -1/x2 so... there goes that bit of info.
  9. Paragon Studios, composed of former Cryptic employees.

All rumors I've seen on Going Rogue and openCL seem to be very, very vague and coming from generally mac-centric websites.

Keep an eye out for generics when you can. 45 generic should not be dropping off 49's let alone 50's.
  11. Sorry for the double posting but.

I'm wondering if this is related to the TF difficulty "bug" where I notice that -1's in flashbacks is giving us 48's and 49's in level 50 missions. (Should give us 49's and 50's.) I also notice that +1 or higher difficulty is just rounding out all the mobs to an even level 50. (Should give us 51's and 52's for +1.)

    =======

Also, you think varied ammo types will apply to the assault rifles also? (guess prolly not) and why would we ever pick lethal? (laughs)
I didn't vote for it, I voted for the Psi weapons which I thought they could simply insert some dual wielding options for and kill two birds with one stone. C'est la Vie.

Would this be the Microsoft QA guys from E3 about 3 years ago? Because that guy had it right, as anyone with any real paid experience would know. And that's all I will say about it.
  14. Running some of the Oro missions that just got fixed in the new patch and I'm noticing that any mob not level 50 is dropping level 45 generic IO recipes? I only noticed this when I went to test with -1 level settings of course. IIRC 47+ drop level 50 recipes...

Edit: Further testing shows this is happening with SO's as well but those tend to fluctuate wildly anyway so it's harder to tell.

Edit: boggled to learn that my settings were actually +0 level?? Regardless, 49's should be dropping 50 generics.

So further testing, double and triple checking settings, oro flashbacks at level 50 from -1 to +1 level of difficulty and +0 to +7 virtual teammates I still randomly get level 45 generics off of some level FIFTY mobs (!!) and randomly get level 48-50 SOs and have gotten a level 49 pacing of the turtle acc/end off of a level 50 Rikti. Crud.

Edit: Dunno if it's related but as a 42 in PI fighting Zombies I got level 30 recipes?

    Any QA Left?

There is some hilarious stuff on both sides of the fence in this topic. "Rhetorical Questions" was funny and "testers do attempt to find bugs and FIX those bugs" is pretty dang funny too. Testers fixing bugs... lol. I too know people that work at Paragon and I wouldn't say the testers are working any kind of exceptionally hard or long hours for the gaming industry like some people here are claiming. You might also note that they've had a publicly posted positions for a QA in Mountain View for months now, maybe they are just looking for GOOD testers which can be hard to find in the seas of EA QA and CQC throwbacks here in the Bay Area.
  16. Neat, thanks!

I should point out that it definitely was not during an event though, that was the first thing I thought of.

Same thing with the Safeguard Truck in PI... You can click on the building nearby to enter the mission as well.

That's just how the doorways work. The doorway itself isn't linked to the mission, but a location itself. You enter a mission or instance by clicking on a door near that mission's location. That's why you can click on any of the 4 doors (that are really separate objects) to get to the same place. That's also probably how the MA buildings accidentally got flagged as a mission location, yet there was no door at that location. Glad that got fixed.

I believe this is also why they moved the original location of the SG portal in RWZ.. because there was a door in the hallway around the corner that would also act like the SG portal when you clicked on it. Problem being.. that door would sometimes pop up for a mission as well, and you could be locked out of your mission if the SG portal took priority. Likewise, I clicked on the portal to get to my base and ended up inside my teammate's mission. I /bugged it, and it was eventually moved to it's current location.

(I don't know if this has anything to do with the OP's issue. We know that there are problems with thumbtacks and waypoints in Mercy, so it could just be a location problem defaulting to that door as well. *shrugs)
That's a good call actually, I forgot that I used to love to go in the little guard shacks in front of Tina Macentyre at Portal Corp to get inside rather than the front doors. This is extremely likely the case here.

  19. Villain side, Matthew Burke contact gives a mission "Steal book from Ghost Widow" sends you to door on the ground floor but when you complete the mission you exit from a door up near Kalinda and the Arbiters etc.

I noticed it doubly so since he usually sends you to that door EVERY time like it's a fixed special door for the mission!

Not a big deal but was interesting to be like "hey, where the heck am I?"
  20. Not a gamebreaker in the least but the NPC's you used to be able to click on to get the server time and such now always report "0:00" as the time.

Just shy of 63 month badge here. I play more Brutes, Blasters, Scraps, Masterminds than I do anything else but I've multiple 50's of each AT both sides. Least played would be Defenders and Dominators, only one Dominator I had made it to 50. Veats and Heats a bit more than Defenders and Dominators, Heats were quite rough, fun but rough.

My first toon, Inv/SS tank. Second toon an ice/em Blaster. First villain was a rad/rad corruptor then a ss/inv Brute. I normally tank in MMOs like WoW but I find in CoX that people aren't very fast with the damage (imo) so I pick up the slack here. Dragging along teams full of lazy defenders and such while being the primary damage dealer on my inv/ss tank was not fun, hence the blaster.

Hero side I remember enjoying the ever loving **** out of my bs/regen scrapper with 6 damage SO's and focused accuracy, lol. ED and GDN ****** that up good and I never really enjoyed anything else quite like that. Villain side I almost fell in love just as strongly with an EM/Ela brute but hey, they nerfed and ****** with EM to ruin that too.

Currently playing a lot of my AR/Kin corrupter, I love that people think it's terrible combo yet they all love to team with me. Farming merits on a ss/inv brute via oroborous quite a bit and Hero side been enjoying the awesome synergy of sonic/devices blaster. I think the hardest thing in CoX to deal with is going from high damage to low damage toons, you really notice the slowness in contrast.

I've done QA, professionally, personally, and can vouchsafe that this is, indeed, a crap *** QA job or QA was over-ruled by management. Test server doesn't enter into it, internal QA is what is being blamed, IMO.
