elevators and doors make mastermind pets become lost

I play several masterminds. Since Issue 16 went live, my henchmen occasionally get lost when I go through a door or elevator in a mission map. I've encountered this problem most frequently when going through elevators in office, Arachnos or Crey maps, but anything that takes me to a separate map in the same instance can trigger it. Sometimes all my pets get lost, sometimes only some. When it happens, the missing pets will respond to commands but not actually execute them. From their speech bubbles I can tell they're outside the bounds of the current map, usually running straight north or west. I've seen them leave elevators only to re-enter them, sometimes teleporting back and forth while doing so. I've also seen them march sideways through a level, walking through the walls, targetted by enemies they passed. If I dismiss the errant pets, they teleport to my location before doing the dismissal animation. The "summon teammates" power will successfully grab the missing pets (as well as any current teammates, of course). On occasion the pets will show up if I wait long enough, but most of the time I have to dismiss and resummon.

In the screenshot below, I'm at the north end of the Steel Canyon mayhem map, looking northwest. I've just commanded my ninjas to follow me. Several are nearby, but one is outside the bounds of the map. When I entered the bank shortly before, none of my ninjas followed me inside. I went back outside and found that all of them were outside the map boundary. While I set up the screenshot options (and dodged a horde of Longbow), a few of them reappeared on the map, but two never did.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to discern any pattern to the problem, or find a way to trigger it on demand. I've encountered it on Infinity (Tokusatsu), Guardian (Necrocaust) and Virtue (Dr. Spinebender), with ninjas and zombies, at a variety of character levels.

(I have reported this with /bug, incident 091015-001440. One of the devs at HeroCon suggested I post a screenshot here.)

Very well-written first post But ultimately, this is a known issue.

I have not had any problems with this so far. My biggest issue is that sometimes when pets zone with you they don't stay under your control. When this happens, they still follow you around and attack stuff for you, but you can't dismiss them or see them in the "Pets" window. This is very annoying, especially since mine all end up on Defensive/Follow when they do this (at least, I think that's what they're on), and end up getting wiped out by the first spawn I pass.

The only way I've found to fix it without rezoning is to use one of the upgrade powers on the wayward minion(s). Unfortunately, this only brings the targeted minion back under my control, even though it upgrades the whole group and thus uses a huge chunk of endurance. I usually suck down several blue inspirations to finish this if my whole group of minions decides to stop listening to me.

If I can get to whatever mission I'm doing, I usually regain control of them upon entering it. I'm just tired of having them aggro street mobs that are 3 levels higher than me as I race to get to the mission entrance. Death is not fun, and makes trekking across the map to a mission that much more annoying. On the plus side, this will only happen once, since the minions will die when I do, and I'll wait to resummon them until I get inside.

In short, MM pets are really buggy right now. Hopefully, they will be fixed "Soon".

Yeah, as Obsidious stated, this is very much a known issue. I've had them do the same exact thing to me constantly now after Issue 16. It seems to have gotten worse lately with the recent patch that came out a couple days before Halloween. When Issue 16 first came out, occasionally one or two pets would get stuck at the elevators; now they all get stuck.

It's deeply frustrating as I really enjoy playing Masterminds.

What are posters supposed to do when it's a Known Issue but they've been asked to post it here?

File a /bug report in game (done), get the incident number and include it in the post (done), then PM Arbiter Kim the link to the thread. Checking the Known Issues and noting that in the post as well would be preferable. Note that they were told by a dev to post a screenshot here (done).

Be sure to note all of the above information in the post, then when someone points out any of those items, politely ask them to reread the OP and note that it was already done.

Because apparently they didn't read the part about being told by a dev to post a screenshot of it here.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Black Pebble is my new hero.

Update on uncontrollable minions:

I was playing my Bots/Thermal MM yesterday, and I discovered that putting one of the fire shields on a bot brought that bot back under my control. I'm not sure if using a targeted heal on a minion will have the same effect or not. This warrants further testing.

Targeted buffs do it as well. I had similar problem with imps on fire/kin. Giving them SB or ID, puts them back under your control

Same problem here.

Though, on the issue of them not being under your control (only happens when I exit a mission), if Anything happens to them, they revert to your control. If they're attacked by an enemy (note, only if THEY are attacked, if they do all the attacking and don't get hit back, it doesn't work), if they get healed, buffed, anything, they revert to your control.

Easiest way is just to refresh my Fire Shield buff, and I have happily named ninjas again.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I didn't know where known issues were posted. Now that I do, I'll keep an eye on that forum, and the test server forum, for more info.
