Optimising PI radio's for Toxic badge

Hello everybody,

am still working towards the Toxic and Guardian badges and using the advice given in an earlier thread I am using the radio mishs in PI.

This is mainly because with the new PvP changes I was getting a hammering in RV and at the times I am usually playing it is virtually impossible to get 8 others just to farm the STF first mission.

So today I ran 23 straight Arachnos missions set for +0 foes and to 4 Heroes spawns. I wanted lvl 50 recipes to maximise earnings whilst I badge hunted.

I cleared every map except for one foe when I wanted to reset and cleared completely when I wanted to change mission.

In the 23 missions I defeated three Mu Guardians and four Toxic Tarantulas (2 in one mish!)

This seems to be way low compared to all the other foe types that were consistently spawning?

Any ideas how I can optimise my diff settings to increase the spawning of those two foes?

I am fighting bosses but no AV's.

Thank you for any thoughts/ideas, as I would like to get these badges before I die

Cheers

Can you get 8 people together for 5 minutes in IP ?

If so start the statesmans task force with them, let them go on their mery way and then farm the mission by your lonesome. You can achieve even greater efficiency by broadcasting on your servers/Badge/TF/etc channels that is exactly what you want to do. You can probably get at least a few people that will help you out getting the badge because they want it too.

Another suggestion would be using the Dr. Khan TF.

Edit:
I've found that trying to do radio missions ended up getting 1 toxic every twenty minutes or so. It just isn't time effective.

You might try for setting for 8 person team, with a +1 or -1 foe level.

Given a limited number of teammates, I think RV is still your best bet. If you can find just one person to help, it makes it much easier to take down a tarantula.

Alternatively, rather than PI radio missions, you might try the door missions in Warburg. These are available for anyone level 30-50 and, by picking the right missions, you can be assured of Arachnos in every mission.

Personally, I used both of these methods. I found a lot in RV because I was in there long enough to defeat 1,000 pillboxes anyway. The Warburg mission was best if you had a large team but now you can 'simulate' a large team with the new difficulty settings.

I like the STF one myself. That's how I got it back in the day. I advertised what I was doing, and it seemed to get more interest than I though tit would get, and I ended up with too many people, so we swapped people out depending on who got badges the first couple resets.

The Silos 'TF' was a good way of getting progress for me. the 2nd mission especially.

I farm for badges at -1x8, No bosses, No AV.

With No Bosses set, you still get bosses, and at 8 man spawns, there are usually 1-2 per spawn, but they all scale down to Lts. And they still count for the badge, even scaled down.

As far as earnings go, you still get level 50 common IOs, and you still have the same chance for a purple drop. Your Set IOs are a mix of 49 and 50s, and you get a bit less Inf per kill, and you lose a bit more by scaling the bosses, but you're killing more, quicker, so it balances out fairly well.

If there is a large number of players in the RWZ then you should see quite a few around the SE portion of the map as well.

Well, on hero side its still much easier than on villain side.
Plus villains need the badge for an unlockable easily outlevelled contact.
And the lowered the requirement for the badge from 200 to a mere 50.

??? Gville they freaking POUR out the doors and are level 40-41 easy peasy. Just run a little loop of 5-6 of them so they respawn.

This.

Run a circuit in the SE area of RWZ. This is how I wrapped up my Toxic Tarantula, Mu Guardian, and Fortunata Seer badges. All three of these mobs types spawn in this area.

It's tedious, and I'm not sure how time-effective it is, but you can do it any time, and is solo-friendly.

Q. Just wondering Posi, where are the new dance emotes we were told would come with GR?
A. Positron: Whoops, my bad.

1387 badges, and counting

When I was doing these, I used the Warburg missions. They usually spawned a few Toxics.

Outside of that, you can use the first mission of Statesman Task Force, which generally has a fair number of Toxics as well.

Questions about the game, either side? /t @Neuronia or @Neuronium, with your queries!

LOL I did indeed

I also did spend a fair amount of time in the RWZ on the nights that the Raids were running, just patrolling the South East part of the zone and had a minimal amount of success. Think I got 2 toxics in total.

I have been grinding out the radio mish in PI and have finally achieved the badge for Toxic defeats. Must have run it about 150 times! Yes I know, I need to get a life

I also picked up a few Mu Guardians, but with no progress bar am in the dark about how much work I still have to do for that one.

But what I really wanted to say was thank you to all of you guys for your help and support, it is muchly appreciated.

Cheers

They're easy in RV. Get a Heavy and shoot them down as they come flying out of the redside base.

I just finished this badge in Siren's Call, in the North East corner. There wasn't a ton of them, took about 2 hours or so to get the 16 I needed, though I was also working on Warrior Bosses at the same time, so it wasn't bad.

Also, doing the zone "Hotspot" fights usually netted another 1-2 Toxics.

I farmed Toxics and Mu Guardians in RWZ. It will be more efficient If you can get few people with you. Bind "targetcustomnext "Mu Guardian"$$targetcustomnext Toxic" helps a lot.
