Quote:Yes you can.You probably could do it quite easily with the right team. Dropping 8 HVAS and Shivans with /FF /therm and /pain buffs on a mixed group of MMs, controllers and defenders would probably drop the +8s in short order.
Just remember that all MM pets get the ability to feed insps to any pet of theirs, including HVAS and shivans. I don't think the pets are debuffed so they'd be level 50 (not 100% on that though).
Can you unslot your incarnate slots (blank it) to deliberately do the TFs debuffed like that? -
Quote:Eh...redraw bothers me to much (I say this with plans to obtain the Mu Mastery on my DB/WP later, purely for concept reasons...and it makes me tempted to reroll my main just to avoid the Redraw) to go the Empower -> Energy Torrent routeYeah, this is my exact concern. Post I19, I'm running the AV & Sweep combos so the only attack I didn't take was NS. If I drop VS for NS, I get the Empower combo instead of AV for no dropoff in defenses (same Kin Combat set in either). If I were to pick up Hasten, I might have to give up on some of my defenses (capped S/L/E/N atm).
I'm gapless for my BF + AV combo w/o Hasten or any other buffs (constant global rech bonus of 43.8%), and I'm wondering if the Spritual slot itself will allow me a gapless Empower + SS chain. This...
...makes it sound like the answer is no.
Maybe just as well since I'd be pretty screwed if I exemped down below 46, but it would've been nice to have Empower up for Energy Torrent.
If you can run BF -> Attack Vitals gapless, I'd say you're doing enough DPS. Currently I don't have the -Resist Proc in SS, which I think will increase my DPS, which is roughly 180 DPS, using BF -> Attack Vitals (instead of the -Resist Proc, I'm currently using the Eradicate Energy Damage Proc in SS).
Now, DB/WP isn't the highest damaging combo, but it does well.
-
Not worried, they can make the differences noticable with other routes...
This TF the Defense Softcapped could be a god.
But THIS TF Defense sucks, but Resistance based sets can be OMG!
And I don't know about the rest of the forums, but I've run with a lot of people who don't have these UBER Optimal Builds.
Or people give up DMG for better defense, because they don't want to or just can't figure out how to make their build UBER.
I've seen quite a few players who just don't bother with IOs. -
Quote:Ice/Cold Corruptor or Cold/Ice Defender. Thanks for all the responses everyone! I learned a lot more than I thought I would.
Still haven't decided on an AT, as I'm currently busy respeccing and outfitting my main (SS/INV Brute) for i19, but it has certainly given me something to think about.
I'm curious though, which Ice builds would work the best in the end game? In large teams on the hardest TFs, which would bring more value to the group?
You just can't go wrong with more buffs/debuffs! And look, you have some control to add to the team as well!

Quote:If memory serves...BF -> AS -> SS requires way to much +RCH, and thusly best to go with BF -> AS -> SS -> AS.So I know this has been discussed before, but I couldn't find anything definitive searching for it in the recent (last few months anyway) threads. Can someone please list the top DB DPS attach chains and how much recharge is needed for them all? My understanding is thus.
Assuming the Achilles proc in Ablating, the top chains are:
1) BF -> AS -> SS
Rech needed is very high
2) Empower combo -> SS
Rech needed is kinda high
3) BF -> Attach Vitals combo
Rech needed isn't bad at all.
Is that right? What are the actual recharges & DPS involved? Reason I'm asking is for my DB/WP, I'm using (3) w/o Hasten ATM, but I'm thinking w/the Spiritual alpha, I can get to (2), which means I could drop VS which always annoyed me as a long animating attack. Kinda wanted to make sure I had the recharge needed before respeccing though.
We discussed it in another thread, and BF -> AS -> SS -> AS and Empower -> SS where pretty equal.
Myself having an IOed out DB/WP without Hasten, I'd suggest stick with BF -> Attack Vitals.
The higher DPS chains just require A LOT of extra +RCH, which means it will eat into you defenses.
Admittedly, my build is setup for Exemping down to as low as lvl 30 and retaining my set bonuses, and going with lvl 50 IOs could sway it a bit, but that still requires A LOT of Recharge in attacks.
Those top chains require BF to have a recharge of like 3.8 seconds (roughly) -
If I recall (and I can be off on this admittedly), wasn't Fire Melee the one set (out side of other factors, like pairing it with shields) that Brutes made out better than Scrappers?
This is of course assuming you're not going afk every minute (the stop and go play style mentioned earlier).
If that's true, and you're able to just keep going, Brute seems to be the ideal AT for going Fire Melee/Willpower.
More damage and better regen/hit points, not to mention higher resist caps when team with ATs that can grant +Resist. -
I don't use them all the time, but I make use out of them from time to time.
I just go down the line and start grabbing the buffs I think I'll find useful, untill I can't create any more of them

Quote:Well, with WP you can softcap your defenses (or concentrate on just S/L) and it come with the added benefit of decent Psi Resist/Defense.I personally would pick up Intimidate and Invoke Panic from the pool for Batman's strategy of using intimitation to throw off his foes. That's the way I went with my MA/SR Scrapper.
OTOH, if I were starting over with it today, I would probably agree with the previous poster who went the Dark/Dark route. Perhaps Dark/Willpower. As the Fear powers are built into the set, they are a lot stronger than the Pool versions, and don't need to be slotted as heavily before you start to get effective results.
While it does seem more like Batman's style to be dodging attacks instead of regenerating health at an accellerated rate, I've come to the conclusion Super Reflexes is more geared towards "super" reflexes, that is the like the Flash or Spiderman. Batman's agility is just one aspect of his defense, he also has body armor, superior conditioning, various painkillers and stimulants, and he probably does heal faster than a normal person.
Ninjitsu is probably the best fit, even though you have to go Stalker for it. It concentrates more on the Confuse and disorient in Blinding Powder than Fear, but you can role play Placate as frightening your foe into not attacking you. I essentially play the same character as my MA/SR Scrapper as a Stalker, but he uses Placate for Intimidate and Blinding Powder for Invoke Panic. And of course doesn't have to go to the Pool for Stealth either. -
Quote:True. I was just commenting on the images.Yeah it is amazing what slightly different hair styles and makeup can do.

I just grabbed those two pics after a minute of googling because they both showed Heather as a cheerleader which is what Buffy was (at least in the original movie).
I'm just assuming this Buffy reboot is going to be more of a "movie Buffy" reboot than a "TV Buffy" reboot.
And yes, she was a cheerleader in the series, or rather, she was a cheerleader before she arrived in Sunnydale. I believe she joined and then quit the cheerleading squad in Sunnydale, but I can't remember if that's right or not, but I swear it happened that way. -
I want to know why anyone would willing change their hero ID from Impulse to Kid Flash.

Impulse just sounds so much better.
Artemis and Arrowette are also two different characters inthe YJ cartoon, according to the creators, as Arrowette is suppossed to make an appearance. -
Quote:I find I can usually get 1 - 2 attacks off once the blue circles appear.I can honestly say I've only died once to the blue patches of death, and that was my first time running the Apex TF in beta. If you're aware of your surroundings you'll never die from them - just look for the visual and audio queues.
Also, if you time it right, you jump away and have an attack go off on your target as soon as land.
On live I've only died twice on the blue patches (so far)...1 on the all scrapper Apex we ran on test, where I got stuck under a building and between another scrapper, and once on another run when I jumped away, qued an attack (confront) and landed in a different blue patch while taunting BM

Quote:Like I said, high level TFs.There are time's I'd die and he's still out there pounding enemies. With his debuffs and heals, I find him to be near invincible. In large groups, maybe that changes, but he always starts the battle with me and comes back as soon as he's back. While he's there, he doubles my heals, holds, and debuffs and I can't imagine not using that (especially as a mastermind).
Not meaning to argue, but I wonder what circumstances you're in where he's dying so fast? With my own debuffs, the enemy is paralyzed anyway so how are they going to kill him?
Fluffy doesn't seem to like Cims. And Cims don't like to become paralyzed. And with my own Ranged defense, Hover and -ToHit, Cims become less of a problem for my Defenderss.
And I've never seen Fluffy still fighting after I've died. Never. So you're lucky.

I haven't lost a Tin Mage or an Apex TF yet. In fact, I have the Master Badges for both of them.
I can only think you've lost if the team doesn't have the boost slotted, or their general builds are under slotted (Ive had lvl 50's join ITFs and say all their enhancements are red). -
Quote:True. I'd most likely go Resist shield and softcap Ranged Defenses.A dark blast attack chain(unenhanced -tohit) can get up to -30% ToHit consistently, both ST and AoE. It's easy to get 15% defense with Arctic Fog, Maneuvers, and a slight IO investment.
I'm not saying the scorpion defense shield is useless(you won't have -30% on everything all the time and some mobs will resist the -tohit), I'm just saying that compared with the resistance shields, it's not as good as it could be on other powerset combinations.
Infact, that's how my Fire/Cold build is planned, untill they come up with an Ice Mastery Epic, as that will likely be a S/L Defense shield. -

Quote:The problem I see, is this is the forums, I really don't think the majority of the player base wants a skirt for their male models, so basically a lot of work, for very little of the player base.Um.... seriously, there's a huge issue here. Why can't a male samuri toon have a panda on his shoulder? Why can't male toons have the dragon/cloud bracers?
Long hair works for guys... like this one
http://www.finalfantasycosplay.net/w...hiroth_ff7.jpg
Skirts work for guys! Maybe no minis, but the long and pencil ones would. Could easily be called the lower half of a tunic! Didn't african tribesmen and hawaian guys have grass skirts? There's lots of options.
Guys are totally be left out here!
And this might be great for CoH Developers because all the meshes are already made! Maybe a little tweeking but otherwise would be easy compared to making something from scratch!
Not only that, some will take the options and could try to make something (and act it) to what others may consider offensive. Believe it or not, people can people quite uncivil.
Not that I don't want some of these options mentioned, just something to think about, on why some options aren't ported over.
That said, I'd love a Baron Jacket for females, I'd love for them to make it so I could use the witch jacket with the fur shoulders, and males should for sure have the Hacker Top Design added to their list of top designs! -
Personally, unless it's a new zone like a Moonbase or Atlantis, I'm not to keen on the idea of a new "part of the city" zone.
Have enough of them as it is imo. While not a big redside player (mostly because I just prefere to play a hero) that is one of redsides draw to me...less zones!
I'd much rather see updates to the zones! I'd love to see a partially destroyed Kings Row due to the invansion.
I just don't know if it would work, due to KR being a low level zone/early in the story, while the TF is like a later event. -
Quote:Truthfully, I have to agree with Tenzhi. I found Fluffy to be useful for a bit, but later on, he just died way to quickly even with DN going on (I do a lot of high level TFs tho), and I wouldn't even notice.*GASP!*
Jordan <--- stunned. Very.
You can use him as a decoy when clicking glowies, you can use him to absorb alpha strikes, you can use him for dedicated healing.
I guess with the right gameplay style, he might not be as useful, but enough to not even take him as a power? Mind = blown
He's Jordan's friend and protector in my world
*image here*
It's a fun power, it's a fun RP power, but gameplay wise, I didn't find him to useful with a fluid attack chain and softcapped defenses.
That said, I kept the pet myself, but I stopped 6 slotting it, using it more as a set mule that I'd summon just for the hell of it

I hate the outdated look of the dark sets.
Otherwise, I love the look of the soul powers from Ghost Widow.
I think dark sets should be updated to look like soul, like a kind of "dark soul force" to tap into.
The current dark powers look weird when colored and I dont like the skull for the dark blast, or the tentacles for dark melee.
Dark Blast would be so much better with a little Ghost Widow treatment! -
I'm for some toggle buffs, but I'd rather see it in new sets, rather than put into place on current sets.
I could easily see a set like the VEATs secondary working as a toggle/click based Debuff/Buff set. -
Quote:Love the Dark Zero pic!Pretty much my exact thoughts. Though my character comes from another galaxy and lost all his powers in the process. So I just thought of it as him getting some of that back during his whole time in CoH. But since most level 50s are incarnates, it's barely anything acknowledgable.
-
That explains why I saw someone dancing on a STF and wondering how they werent seen.
I figured he had the +perception like other AVs. -
Quote:I know on my Dark Miasma users when they relied on -tohit and when they relied on -tohit and Defense.Dark Blast doesn't have DN(corruptor forums, remember?
) and has -ToHit built into its attack chains. I'd take a resistance shield over a defense shield in this particular case, if it fit my concept or offered me some other powers i could use.
It makes a HUGE different in survivability!
Not to mention, with softcapped defenses, -tohit works even better as enemies with -defense have a harder time of stacking it.
While I've never gotten to 50 with a Dark Blast, I have used it to the mid 20's, and I didn't find Dark Blast's -tohit to be that impressive of a survivability boost. Not saying it's not noticable, but it's not all that either.
And remember, this is a Dark/Cold build the OP has, so there's no -tohit in their secondary, just a bit of +defense from Arctic Fog. -
I'd choose 1. First off, I don't think there ever will be an end of time. So the second choice would be impossible.
Now assuming an end of time is possible, I'd make out so much more with choice 1!
As for what I'd say, truthfully, I think the first question would be why would they want to basically have just 1 hour left to live. -
Quote:Well for the APP/PPP, I think a lot of that comes down to personal choice. What APP/PPP is good for a Dark/Cold?
Also, I am inclined to go for Spiritual Alpha but what else is good for a Dark/Cold?
Many thanks!
Mace Mastery has the advantage of a S/L Defense Epic Shield.
If it was me though, I'd likely go Soul Mastery (Soul Storm) or Leviathan Mastery (closest to an Ice Mastery).
Alpha is even more subjective...what's you're slotting like for instance?
