They have to graduate someday but Brittany, thought she was a lifer.

Anyways the article only says being considered and there is still a chance that she'll be in both.

I don't see why she can't do both, though Glee in a more limited capacity. They wrote out Puck/Mark Salling for a few episodes to promote his album, they could write Brittany out of the first few (or last few of this season) episodes of next year to overlap with summer hiatus and give her enough time.

Santana: "Where have you been!?"

Brittany: "I don't know. It was weird and there were vampires. I kept thinking I'd meet wolves, too, but everyone just sort of sang about mustard."

Santana: "Sweetie, we talked about eating jellybeans before bed."

Considering the Buffy reboot is the MOVIE only.... she can certainly do both.

(TV execs aren't desperate enough to try a series reboot... yet)

The new Buffy is a sitcom where Buffy is happy slaying vampires.... but, uh-oh... suddenly she has to share an apartment with one. Can these two opposites learn to get along, or will they SUCK all the fun out of the situation?

I don't even watch the show but the few times I tried she always had the best lines. My GF on the other hand is now married to the show and would probably die if any of them left.

Well I'm coming at this from the point of view of never having seen a single episode of Glee (the whole idea of the show makes queasy) but having seen pretty much every episode of Buffy/Angel and the original Buffy movie. From that mindset I look at Heather Morris:

And can accept that she at least "looks" like a Buffy when you compare her to Kristy Swanson and Sarah Michelle Gellar. I really have little faith in this Buffy reboot (without Whedon's involvement) to begin with, but I figure they could have considered someone worse than Heather. *shrugs*

I see the first image and think...no way...not Buffy. Looks terrible.

I see the second image and think...okay maybe.

I hope they get Donald Glover from Community to play Pee Wee's character,
or Luke Perry's role.

Yeah it is amazing what slightly different hair styles and makeup can do.

I just grabbed those two pics after a minute of googling because they both showed Heather as a cheerleader which is what Buffy was (at least in the original movie).
I'm just assuming this Buffy reboot is going to be more of a "movie Buffy" reboot than a "TV Buffy" reboot.

Perhaps they should simply Glee-up Buffy or would it be Buffy-up Glee? Have the character in Glee become the slayer and there can be a song number around a vampire slaying each week.

total kick to the gut

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

True. I was just commenting on the images.

And yes, she was a cheerleader in the series, or rather, she was a cheerleader before she arrived in Sunnydale. I believe she joined and then quit the cheerleading squad in Sunnydale, but I can't remember if that's right or not, but I swear it happened that way.

It should be called "Buffee the Glampire Slayer"

Why does Buffy need a reboot? A sequel or prequel I can understand, but not a reboot since it was one of the better shows that aired during its time. It is like asking for a reboot of Lost. There are other stories that could be done like Mercy Thompson that feature vampires and werewolves. Anita Blake could also be done as long as they don't deal with the later books. Everything after Book 9 is to be avoided or heavily censored.

The first step in being sane is to admit that you are insane.

Especially if the vampires from Twilight show up all sparkly. I think they have the makings of a hit on their hands.

You said Lost, so I magically appear!

Like has been said, this is probably more like a reboot of the Movie Buffy than the TV Buffy.

Y'know the movie that featured Paul Reubens and Luke Perry was very cheesy compared to the TV show. And had very little of the same mythology. The original movie and TV show are vastly different in tone and style.

One way someone could look at this is this way: SMG doesn't want to return to Buffy, never wanted to be appear on the big screen as Buffy, so this is the closest we may get to a serious big-screen Buffy (if it hems closer to the tone of the show than the first movie).
