Hmmm...see, this is what we need...

    MA/Ninjitsu/Weapons Scrapper - Batman
    Dual Batons/Ninjitsu/Weapons Stalker - Nightwing
    Staff/Ninjitsu/Weapons Stalker - Robin

We also need Swing Line travel power!

Am I the bad roleplayer for refusing to MUSH with them, or are they the bad roleplayer for insisting on playing a character that doesn't fit the AT they're playing?

Of course now that I've posted this and read Eisregen's posts about Peacebringer angels I want to make a Peacebringer that /thinks/ they're an angel. I'm sure it's already been done though - along with the Warshade that thinks they're a demon.

I do, however, use asterisks sometimes when emoting something while on a team, in a mission - and thus my teammates are very likely to be /just/ out of range of the emote even while in the same room. I usually emote normally with ; (the even shorter than "/em" shortcut) when participating in local RP.
Actually, the PB who thinks they're an angel or the WS who thinks they're a demon, may actually be different.

I've only ever ONCE, ran into a PB or WS who followed the storyline of the merge creating a whole new personality. Usually it's "I'm merged and the same person as I was before" or "I'm merged and I talk with the symbiote" or other stuff in that vein.

Them thinking they're something else could just be an amnesia thing as they forgot who they are. Of course, everyone around them could just as easily say, "You're a PB or WS" which they might just reply "That's non sense"

Could be fun, could be annoying (on your part).

I'm finally getting into build strategies, so I just wanted to hear some opinions on what looks to me as two equal options (if money, time, and slots were no consideration).
    They'd be pretty much equal.

You're at 45% to typed defenses on the one build, 45% to positional defenses on the other.

Now if the typed defenses is lacking the 45% to PSI defense, then the 45% to all positions wins out.

But with you saying you're working on builds. there's more to it than just defense. There's which one has the better regen, resists, and other things.

That really depends on the build. The fact that you can have them all, means you can switch them out as you see fit as well.

I tend to stick to NERVE on my DB/WP for a bit more added defense/acc, but I swithc to SPIRITUAL when I do Hami Raids, Hami on the LGTF, or Apex TF.

I'd want different team make ups to only need to use different tactics, timing, positioning and lose the need for an extreme kiting does all as an option. That option works well for Trick Archery which is effective if it is seen just as much as a controller as a debuffer. We should be playing differently on account of what defender we've got anyway and this would especially show around AVs.
I actually like the fly and taunt option, as it means the rest of the team is concentrating on the towers, and therefore, taking them down faster, rather than 1-3 members out (the tank and how many ever needs to support the tank) with less people on the towers.

More and more people however are making tanks that can stand up to Recluse on their own (or their own and just inspiration usage), but there's stil a lot out there who need the backup.

Seriously. Is it that hard to put some basic thought into one's roleplay? Are people in some amazing hurry to roleplay that they cannot come up with posts that look like actual posts instead of some asterisk-infected fanfiction? Is it your "habit": a physical impossibility to not press shift+8 before and shift+8 after every pose?

No. It's not that hard, people aren't in that kind of a hurry, and there is no such thing as "habit" when it comes to consciously pressing a series of keypress combinations on your keyboard. Unless you have such low control over your own actions that you are completely incapable of avoiding such a thing, you CAN type /e at the beginning of your emotes instead of making yourself look like a tool with asterisks.

    Seriously.

Or you could do something like this...

*Gives a passing glance at the nearby bar, deciding, heck, why not? Could use a drink anyway. A few quick strides and he's at the bar, leaning over the counter and giving an nod to the bartender.* "Hey. What's up? Can you grab me a beer?" *The bartender acknowledges him, and within a few seconds he's acquired his drink. *

Same amount of thought put into the RP, and it uses asterisks!

Increased your S/L/E/N Defense, lowered your F/C Defense, with a NERVE Alpha Boost, you should be softcapped to all positions.

End Recovery is enough that you can run FA full time and still be gaining END.

BF -> Attack Vitals -> Repeat for hard single targets is also possible with this build.

  15. You know Sam, it could be that they see your character, see the wider sliders, and assume it's a female player.

You hear it on the boards all the time...girls don't make super skinny girl characters. Girls don't make characters such and such way.

Of course, none of that's true. There is no rule as to what a character will look like, based on the gender of the player. But people other like to think there is, and maybe you're just catching those players.

Now do the Apex or Tin Mage TFs with 1 Alpha Boost Slotted, and the rest at -4 Levels.

Yes, a team of four who can complete Tin Mage and Apex, can thusly complete the TFs with 4 unslotted

All that being said scrappers sort of scare me, I don't have my head wrapped around the mechanics of it.

Further I want to say I have no clue how resurgence got in there.. And I went for the Physical Perfection line but just thought about my recent no hold LGTF episode and was tired quitting because we had none. Been in 4 or 5 of those situations in the past few months.. Very annoying.. Maybe there is a temp hold I can make for those situations. Will have to look into that.

Finally I can clearly see you guys/gals know your DB chain attacks.. I don't have a clue about that either. Was wondering what was important and not.. Just trying to memorize the chains ( I know its not that many ) and what they do.

I didn't work with the Miracle +Recovery because of the 180 million it was going for.. Just seemed to steep.. Many of my full defense cap builds go for that price, I was a bit shocked having to spend that price for 1 IO. hehe..
Well, BF-Attack Vitals, is enough ST DPS really (I'm clocking in at 180+ DPS on my build using that chain).

As it's easy to obtain, it's not hard to concentrate on your defenses.

My build currently uses the Body Mastery Epic Pool, but that's only untill I go rogue quick enough to pick up Mu Mastery (for concept reasons...though the same with you, I see the benefit of having a Range and a Hold...just sucks you have to redraw with DB).

I get by just fine without the Sweep Combo, but I did take Typhoon's Edge (BF-AV Combo-Typhoon's Edge-Repeat is my combo when dealing with mass enemies).

Because in those chains, GC will be fired off more often, thusly the Procs will be fired off more often in those chains.

Also, purple sets don't give the best END Reduction, and the tier 1's tend to be lighter ont he end.

Now if your attack string doesn't use the same attack multiple times, then which attack to put the purple set in, makes a difference.

On my DB/WP...I put the purple set in Alabating Strike, because it's the only attack I could slot the -Resist Proc in. And 4 Kinetic Combats plus one additional enhancement doesn't give me all the enhancement I want in most powers.

Drop Resurgence. If you want a self rez you can keep a Restoration in your inspiration tray. You could take Strength of Will instead. SoW might be situational but at least you can use it to mule a setIO from the resistance category.
Drop Hasten. It is completely superfluous on a DB/WP (you don't need much global recharge to run BF – Attack Vitals gap less).
Take Leadership Maneuvers and perhaps Tactics, too. This will help to softcap defense vs. S/L.
Drop Melt Armor. It's rubbish. Seriously.
You should consider dropping Blaze Mastery and taking Body Mastery instead. Physical Perfection is a nice add on to improve endurance management and gives some extra regeneration, too.

    Slotting goals:

Try to softcap defense vs. S/L (45%).
Defense vs. E/N/F/C should be in 30s range, when you reach the S/L softcap. It is possible to softcap E/N/F/C, too (Eradication is the key). But you would have to give up damage in exchange.
Boost your hitpoints. This will also help with regeneration.
Don't bother with endurance too much. With Stamina + Quick Recovery + Physical Perfection you should be good.

    Enhancements:

High Pain Tolerance should be slotted with IOs from the heal category to boost HP and regeneration. Give it 3 slots total, to have enough slots for other powers.
To get to 45%+ in S/L you'll need 5 sets of Kinetic Combat. Remember that you can slot them in Brawl and Boxing/Kick, too.
You'll probably need Obliteration in one or two of your PBAoE powers.
Blinding Feint is a part in the BF - Attack Vitals chain. You should slot it like an attack, not like a buff.
The 5th Reactive Armor IO is not really worth it, imho. Better use the slot somewhere else.
No Miracle unique? It's not that expensive. Get it! 3 slots total in FH should be enough.
Slot Indomitable Will with LotG: Def/End and the +7.5% recharge. Drop the 3rd slot.
Slot RttC with 3 Numina or Miracle IOs. Do not slot it with ToHit debuff.
With QR+Stamina+PP 3 slots in QR are probably enough.
A ResKB in Tough is a wasted slot. Indomitable Will gives all the KB protection you need. You could use it as a mule for the Steadfast Protection +3% defense and/or the Gladiator's Armor +3% defense. I would give it at least 2 slots total, to improve its +res and lessen the end cost.
Drop the Def/End from Combat Jumping unless you REALLY need the extra 0.3% for your defenses (Combat Jumping already has very very low end costs).
On the talk of Hasten, it can have it's uses.

    1) Empower -> Sweeping Strike is suppossed to be an awesome DPS chain, but my testing of it hasn't shown it to be as such (on Pylon runs)...as such I'm personally dropping it from my build and getting Hover back.

    2) It can be used as a psuedo Slow Resist. Won't cover being heavily hit by -RCH, but being hit by a little of it, Hasten can overcome it.

I do have to agree though...if you're going to take Sweep Combo, skip Nimble Slash (if you can make use of Empower -> SS).

It's useful for when exemping below lvl 21, but other than that, meh. Empower just isn't all that great in my experience and neither is Weaken.

There is benefit to having Fire Mastery, though I agree to skipping Melt Armor (it really is worthless). The benefit to taking Fire Mastery however, is having access to a range blast and a hold for the LGTF.

Resurgence is a give or take. It's actualyl a terrible self rez, as it doesn't work while in combat, but if you have the extra power pick, not all that bad.
  23. I'd understand it if it was for the Apex or Tin Mage TFs, and would deny people for not having them myself, but for everything else? o.O
