  1. I don't think there's anything wrong with the tip drops, but you might just be getting a bad luck streak. Earlier tonight I decided to reinforce my Rogue alignment, and didn't get any tips in the second mission I ran. However, on the way to the third mission, I stopped to hit a couple lvl 44 Toxic Tarantulas and got a tip on the first one. Maybe you should focus more on boss-level mobs in case that makes a difference.
  2. I remember there were a couple discussions recently about the plusses and minuses of running CoH from a SSD, but I'm curious if anyone has tested running it from a good old-fashioned RAM drive? I used to use one for small things around Win95-era, but is it still possible to make one with Win7? Of course, you'd have to have at least 8GB of RAM to copy the PIGG files and still have decent system memory, but I'd have to imagine it'd be wicked-fast to play this way.

    I did actually notice this when I was fighting my first pylon. I thought "Ah, that must be the resistance kicking in" if I got hit by two consecutive blasts before I had a chance to heal myself.

    Day Jobs Over.

    Finally finished my day jobs yesterday afternoon. I would've gotten done a couple weeks sooner, but I didn't realize I was logged out in a duplicate location for one of them.

    Now I'm just trying to decide whether I cycle around through hero and back to rogue (since I didn't use the build-switching bug), or wait for the anniversary event to get those PvP defeat badges.
  7. I took your suggestions into account and revised my build a couple more times. The first version I was able to soft-cap Melee def without using DA, but it left me feeling like a one-trick pony. The second version reinstates DA, but also is able to soft-cap Ranged def (or at least 44.3% without Maneuvers), and most of that is good down to level 17. Here's that second version.

  8. With the revelation that lower-level content will be included in the WSTs, I got curious how my Kat/SR will perform while exemped. I first went through the Ouroboros mission list and found missions at five-level increments, noting my defense stats along the way. I discovered that the combination of powers and IO levels that I chose for my primary build really drop off in the level 25-20 range.

    This is my proposed secondary build for exemping to no higher than level 25. I tried to be mindful of IO levels for set bonuses, but it's hard to know for sure since Mids hasn't implemented the exemping feature yet. I realize that the cost/supply of some of these low-level IOs could be prohibitive, but that's what merits are for, right?

  10. The Cardiac Alpha boost will definitely help for your longer fights.

    Got one more tweak, keeping Aid Self 5-slotted and returning GSFC to the build but this time putting it in Build Up. That way I can still be capped without having to run Stealth, which further helps to manage my end usage. Of course, both Stealth and Hover are there if I need them while fighting certain mobs.

    Any final thoughts on this version?

  15. I'd already done one rebuild after I19, but I'm looking at another tweak to increase defense. I was able to cannibalize some slots out of other powers and switch in some HOs, without touching my attacks, in order to get the full Perfect Zinger set. The only thing that was really sacrificed was global recharge, but that's what the Alpha slot is for.

  16. Heh, with as many purple and PvP IOs as you have there, I can imagine it is looking nice. Unfortunately, I'm not that flush with inf to manage something like that. I will move the Kismet +acc to Focused Fighting, though, so I don't have to have Hover running for it.

    And the copy tool isn't working again...

    So what I'm looking at now is leaving Build Up at the two slots with Adjusted Targeting. I don't think the extra 5% recharge will make that much difference, and my attacks are sitting at a base accuracy of 280-290% with Focused Accuracy running. Moving an end redux to Assault and Stealth, and adding an end mod to Physical Perfection seems to be a practical choice rather than trying to modify a whole bunch of other stuff.

  18. Thanks for the feedback. I'd thought about putting some of the leadership powers in my build, but instead opted for the utility of Recall Friend and a LotG mule slot in Stealth. However, your build did make me realize that I could drop one recharge slot from Practiced Brawler and still have it be perma. I think I'll take that extra slot, put it in Tough, and put in two Ribosomes I have laying around. That'll bump up my S/L resistance a bit, in addition to the Cardiac boost.

  20. I've been tweaking this build for a while and I think it's finally ready to push live. The last changes I made were adding the Winter's Gift slow resist, taking slots out of fly (because I didn't realize that it was already speed-capped) and adding end redux to Stealth and Tough. Combining those with a Cardiac alpha boost and occasional Conserve Power seems to solve my end problems. At least enough so that I was able to solo my first pylon tonight.

    Positional defenses are in the 51-53% range with both Hover and Stealth running, which gives me a buffer depending on what I'm fighting. Anyway, comments or suggestions are welcome before I use my last I19 freespec.

  21. Anyone over level 20 can go through the alignment switching system. You'll first have to do tip missions to work your way from Hero to Vigilante to Villain. From there, you can do your patron arc to get access to Soul Mastery. This is assuming, of course, that you have the Going Rogue expansion.
