Anyone else having trouble with tips dropping?

I've been street sweeping in Talos and PI for over an hour trying to get tips to drop. Before anyone asks, I have not done any tip missions (teamed or solo) in the last 24 hours and do not have any in my tip inventory. I am a Rogue at the moment and am currently trying to complete the transition back to Hero (my alignment meter is 7/10 right now).

I'm not sure if anyone else has been having issues getting tips to drop. The last few days, I've only been able to get a single tip to drop each evening. Then tonight, nada. (I even went back to redside and cleaned out all the tips from my inventory there, to no avail.)

Could it have something to do with me spending a lot of time in RWZ, with the new strike target being the Lady Grey TF? Am I just super unlucky lately? Or is there a bug somehow blocking my character from getting tip drops?

I don't think there's anything wrong with the tip drops, but you might just be getting a bad luck streak. Earlier tonight I decided to reinforce my Rogue alignment, and didn't get any tips in the second mission I ran. However, on the way to the third mission, I stopped to hit a couple lvl 44 Toxic Tarantulas and got a tip on the first one. Maybe you should focus more on boss-level mobs in case that makes a difference.

Well, one way or another, the problem got resolved. I'm theorizing there was some issue stemming from the fact that I was the last person out of a LGTF. Everybody else quit the team and left me alone cleaning up Rikti in the last mission. I called in the TF when I exited, but I'm wondering if the game was still considering me in TF mode for tip-dropping purposes or something?

Anyway, I joined a team for an ITF, and picked up two (Rogue Isles) tips almost immediately while fighting atop the wall of the fortress while the team leader was scrounging up more players.

Once that TF was over, I dropped from the team myself and headed back to Paragon, and was able to continue earning (Paragon) tips at what most would consider a reasonable pace.

I had a similar experience. Rogue corruptor trying to pick up Heroic tips, was getting them at a rate of one tip every four to six hours. That was four to six hours of doing practically nothing but obliterating spawn after spawn of level 21-25 enemies in both Talos and Dark Astoria. But if I went back to the Rogue Isles, I'd get three tips within a span of ten minutes. Tested it several times, same results, Rogue/Villain tips would drop like rain, but only one Hero tip a day, and that one only after I'd defeated thousands of enemies.

I know it's not the AT or the Rogue status that caused "it", because I'd taken a Praetorian Heroic corruptor full circle (started Hero, went Vigilante at 40 to gain access to the PPPs, got to full Villain status, unlocked PPPs, went Rogue, and back to full Hero) without seeing any problem with tip drop rates.

That problematic corruptor did have one Rogue tip completed, and one Villain tip completed, so I'm wondering if that, having three open morality bars, was the source of the issue. I'd test it, but I'd honestly prefer to suffer another collapsed lung than deal with that again.

Was having problems on one of my vils last week. I'd run x3 and had almost a dozen missions under my belt without a drop (was trying to finally get them rogue). Griped about it in-channel and had a friend invite me to a Scrapyard GM beatdown. In under 5 minutes I'd gotten 3 tips, and was able to finally complete my transition.

It also seemed to break the deadlock on me getting more tip missions as I was able to remain full for tips after that.

But yeah, I could see how simply street sweeping for tips could be slower than trying to get snot to run uphill in January.
