Rogue Isles Tourist - What to see?

I've never played CoV much, but I just moved a level 50 hero to vigilante. So now I'm going to head over to the Rogue Isles and do some sight-seeing. Anything in particular that I should be sure to look at, or punch in the face, while I'm there?

Check out St. Martial's casinos at night, oooh so pretty....

Editing this alrady :P That said, just look around at all the "boring stuff" too. I personally love the architecture on just about every island more than blueside.

I think if you pursue the exploration badges you should see most of the cool sights there because it takes you to the shipwreck and thorn tree in Nerva, the big TV in Grandville and the casino in St. Martial among other locations.

total kick to the gut

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

That TV sucks. All they ever show is "Everyone Loves Reclusie", 24-7.

Definitely go after all of the Exploration badges if you want to get a good feel for the zones. Also, there's a nifty island in the far Southwest corner of Cap. Or is it Port Oakes? I can never remember.

And I like the tree with the Skeleton hanging in it in St. Martial. (Dead Man's Tree badge, you can only see the skeleton from a certain angle.)

And if you've done all the Faultline missions you've already seen that exact same episode on a big screen television in one of the missions.

You've probably also already seen the thorn tree in one of the hero missions. And the half sunken ship. In fact pretty much every really cool bit of architecture has been ported over to some blue side mission. I would say the couple of different things worth seeing are the abyss and Grandville.

Honestly I find most of the sights dreary and depressing in the isles. Yes the textures are more complex but it's all run down. It's like driving through a slum and being expected to ooh and ah over the fact that there are rusty cans in overgrown front yards.

My favorite sights of the Rogue Isles are the Golden Giza and Casino strip in St. Martial, the Thorn Tree and Agincourt in Nerva, (look for a tunnel to a prison area, also there's a Crey warehouse FULL of captives in Crimson Cove -- very disturbing, both places) and the Freakshow "city" in Sharkhead. The Sky Raider's base in Sharkhead is also pretty neat, although you might have seen it in the Alignment missions. (I know it's the setting for a Rogue Alignment mission, you may not have seen it as a Vigilante) And you've got to go to the bottom of the Pit at least once.

I've also really loved the clock tower in the middle of Mercy Isle, and of course there are the "horns" of Mount Diable. I thought at first they were in the distance and unreachable, and they are when you first see them from Port Oakes, but then when I got to Cap Au Diable and realized you can actually get there I had to take a screenshot of one of my characters standing on top of it. It's the villain version of the Status of Atlas, I think.

Aeon City also looks awesome. But by the time you've visited it for the thousanth time, it's not so impressive any more.

This is the main reason I didn't mention the big lake in the middle of Primeva. It seems every mission in the new Praetorian updates end up taking you there. Plus, the new winter mission is set in Agincourt. My SG were all like, "Wow, these new maps are SO COOL!", and I said, "You guys really need to play your villains more often..."

It's still awesome to see the sights as they were originally designed, though, with the proper spawns and all, and Agincourt is frozen over in the winter mission, so that makes it pretty different. Somewhat like how Croatoa would seem to a villain seeing it unfrozen for the first time.

I like the courtyard of the crey office in Nerva where they have spec opps acting as tour guides telling visitors how great Crey is.

The Eye of Horus oil spill out on the sunken tanker in Port Oaks is cool from the air.

In Grandville, getting into the underground tunnels and coming out on the island with the power plant is pretty fun. There are some explore badges for that. Plus the power plant is really, really big.

The Sky Raiders HQ is ok as a tourist ,but to really appreciate it you gotta do a Silver Mantis Strike Force. The final mission is a raid on their base and it is one of my favorite bits in the redside sub-50 strike forces. (the climax of the Barracuda is my favorite overall with all the ambushes and every AT having a special unique power, etc, way way cooler than Dr Khan).

I can be found, outside of paragon city here.
Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.

The tiny little desert island, complete with castaway skeleton, way over in the corner of Cap au Diable. "Because it's there."

Of course, the Eye of Horus oil spill is worth taking a gander, just once.

And you should go join the people watching Television in the gutter neighborhood of Grandville. Television is everyone's friend, including vigilantes like you. Television is always there for it's friends.

There's a tree in Northern Port Oakes called the "Hangman Tree?" that I thinks really cool. Some dude in the old days tried to cut the tree down and no his soul is trapped in the tree. According to legend.

The Pirate Fort in west Port Oakes is pretty cool, I didn't really enjoy the ghostbusters mini game though.

Go to St. Martial at night. VEGAS, BABY! MAN, I wish they'd do more with in-game gambling there, I'd never leave the zone...

There's some gorgeous stuff around redside, and yes, hitting the plaques/badges will show you a lot of it.

Warning though, as you go zooming through Cap... BIG RED ELECTRIC THING. Do not taunt Happy Big Red Electric Thing. (Not more than once, anyway.)

Check out the Abandoned Monkey Fight Club on Sharkhead (it's near the Natural store, IIRC)... the Abyss is also neat. The Fab is impressive (though I wish they'd do more with the place)...

Crey's holdings in Nerva are spiffy (and thoroughly investigate Agincourt when you can do so without getting shot out of the sky).

And should you find something scenic that's really impressive, let me know - I'm always looking for film locales!

The Abyss was certainly interesting. Similar to the Hive, but with more story, and even more dramatic geography. I like it.

I've been working my way through the Easter Egg list. I have a feeling I'm going to get lost trying to find the Dev Dungeon, but I'll try this weekend. I've been gathering exploration badges, zone by zone. I had forgotten how fun that could be.

Shiny! The first time I passed through there it was day time. I'm glad I went back!

There's a nifty cave behind a waterfall in the Primeva area of Nerva Archipelago. When I was there last to collect the exploration badge, there was a couple in there doing adult things. I skittered out of there quickly. Of course, that's not terribly uncommon on Virtue.

Yeah, I was just there, collecting exploration badges! Luckily it was empty when I went by. A really nice little spot. Always seems to me it's a waste of a perfectly good waterfall if there's no cave hidden behind it.

Heading to Grandville now. Wish me luck with those tunnels.

It's interesting how similar Crey and Longbow look from their prisons.

I hadn't seen any of those before, except I guess a snow-covered Agincourt. What do you mean by the Pit? The Abyss?

Right now I'm in Grandville. I found my way into the tunnels, but I haven't found the dev dungeon. Anyone have any hints?

Eye of Horus? I saw an oil spill at an exploration badge, Driller. Is that the same place?
