The Pit is the big strip mine in Sharkhead Isle. As the name implies, it is a very deep pit.

I ought to look this up (but don't feel like it, correct me if I'm wrong), but I believe the Eye of Horus is the name of the ship which caused the oil spill. Probably the same one you found, as I don't know of more than one spill. (Again, correct me if I'm wrong.)

Look at that oil spill from the air.

I find when I'm just out looking to look, following streets gives me a good idea.

I guess after all this time, the parts that there aren't any real reason to see are the ones that interest me the most. The industrial plants and complex walkways of Mercy, the waterfront and drydocks of Port Oakes, following the Orange Pipes of Doom across Cap Au Diable, the actually residential-looking neighborhood and the Pit and Villa Requin in Sharkhead, the road tunnels among multiple levels of industry and the narrow alleyway full of body bags in St. Martial, all the hidden odds and ends of the Primeva temple complex in Nerva, and of course the tunnels and The Fab in Grandville...

There's lots of places to see! Maybe not so much in the same sense as what a real tourist would want to see, but to realize the detail the devs put into making the odd disjointed bunch of islands actually seem like it could sustain the weird criminal empire/functioning country that is the Rogue Isles.

Ah yes, I stumbled into the pit when I was getting exploration badges, but I hadn't noticed the name.

I think the ship was called Cairo or something else, Egyptian but not Horus or Osiris. I tried looking at it from above when I first found it, but maybe I wasn't at the right angle. Or maybe I lack imagination. I have trouble with constellations too.

I also recommend going to Thorn Isle in Nerva at night. The floating lights are a great place to take screenies of your magic-origin toons. You see them sometimes in Cap as well, but the atmosphere is less evocative.

Martial has a lot of interesting architecture, from the Tiki Bars to the many, many other casinos besides the Giza (out in the Jackpot), to the permanent Carnie Camp in Fortune's Wheel.

As for the Dev Dungeon, it is pretty difficult to find because the entrance is hidden behind one of those big black machinery pieces of wall detail. There's just enough room to squeeze behind it to find the easter egg. If you're in Grandville anyway, might as well stop by Monster Island to visit Arachnos' Loneliest Wolf Spiderâ„¢ who could always use a fishing buddy.
