"Point System" retrofit?

What would the chances of getting the Dev's to retrofit ALL the Defeat badges to that system be. The 1 for Mins, 2 for Lt's, and 5 for Boss' like in Praetoria? That would be soooooo much nicer! I'm guessing the chances are in the "0 to none" category, but it still would be nice.

To be fair, that could be a "cannot comment" sort of situation where it's planned somewhere down the line but they're not allowed to spoil it yet.

Any that deal with specific enemies, like Rikti Monkies, Tsoo Sorcerers, or Freak Tanks would have to be left out of a revamp like this. But generic "Kill Stuff" badges, yes please!

The majority of the old defeat badges are for specific foes. I'm not sure there are really that many that would benefit from it.

The only thing that made some of the older defeat badges "semi-difficult" to earn usually had something to do with the fact that you were trying to get a badge that was "counter" to whichever side you were Red or Blue. Examples of this were like Heroes trying to get Longbow back a year or two after CoV launched or Villains trying to farm Warrior Bosses or Rularru in a handful of redside door missions.

Now that we have features like Flashback and Crossover almost all defeat badges can now be easily finished point system or no point system. I'm not against the idea of retrofitting the system back on older badges. But likewise I don't really see the overwhelming need for it anymore either. *shrugs*

Yeah but some of the defeat badge criteria is still a bit of overkill: 1000 monkies, 1000 LB, 333 Cage Consortium.....

Eh, there are ways and places in the game to literally blast through hundreds of those critters in the timeframes of an hour or two if you were so inclined to finish those badges ASAP. On the grand list of what I would consider to be the currently "hardest/most tedious" badges to get I doubt any defeat badge would crack my top 50. Illusionist might, but that'd be the only one to get close.

P.S. Zookeeper was "overkill" when it was originally set for 10,000 monkeys. Now at 1,000 it's easy-peasy.

Let's see:

All the Croatoa defeat badges - 333 each
Reformed - 1000 Longbow
Spider Smasher - 200 Wolf Spiders
Silver Bullet - 200 Warwolves
The Slayer - 200 Vampyrii
Warden - 500 Prisoners
Man/Woman in Black - 200 Shivans
Kill Skulz - 500 Skulls
Zookeeper - 1000 Rikti Monkeys

And those are just the hero badges. A lot of them end up being tedious to get simply by sheer number. I'm glad that some of these are being aleviated by the tips system with the uncommon NPCs like Longbow, Carnies, Malta and in the case of Monkeys there's now half a dozen ways to get them from street-sweeping Crey's Folley to partaking in a Zone Invasion as well as the RWZ arcs and even in the Incarnate initiation on the right settings.

Having the 'points' system would make nabbing them through normal play a bit easier and make the introduction of any new badges simpler as well.

I'd love it just for Reformed and Prisoners. Even with the Tip mish's with Longbow.

Villain, the original badge for Reformed (and what I like to think of the first badge of GR) - 1000 Longbow
Sharing everything except for three of the Croatoa defeats (Fir Bolg, Ghosts & Cabal) and 'Warden' on the previous hero-only badge list but including Kill Skulz (who only show up on Mercy and occasionally Oakes and time-sensitive mayhems) in limited numbers.
Goon Squad - 333 Consortium guards
Strike Buster - 200 scrapyarders (confusing when there's one for Scrapyard's Scrapyarders set at 100)
Infiltrator - 200 Paragon Protectors

I include that last one since you have one mission they appear in redside but they showed up in a tip in droves last night. Still it would go a long way to helping pure villains achieving in normal play especially if they don't have GR 'to just side-switch'.

Again; it's nice that they are using rare NPC groups in tips. I got a VigiVillain tip with a mission full of PPs in the 40-50 range. If I'd gotten it at 40 I could've set it to x8 for a redside farm. It would be even better if other side-rare groups got to show up in tips, especially since tips can be gained by anyone, GR or not.
