I recently got my stone/wp to 50 and i gotta say it was a fun ride. i almost exclusively solo'd (partly from lack of options..damnable AE..and partly just to see what this combo could do). I was running at +2/6 after getting tremor and just steamrolled almost everything in my path. Now with some rather extensive IOing Im nigh invincible in most situation(-def or -regen being my only real weakness). All the KD, siesmic smash to hold problem foes, and now soul mastery for the -tohit means versus most things if I cant keep them on their butts, they arent hitting me anyways. Also...no end issues...unless I pop hasten while running all my toggles..then it might get down to 75%..maybe

if you want something effective right outta the box i highly recommend willpower. its amazing on its own and a good primary you will feel like a god soloing most mobs. then once you sink some IOs it becomes even more incredible. i myself just finishing outfitting a stone/wp and its easily going to cure my altitis from its sheer awesomeness. picking up soul mastery kinda broke my toons concept but i could suck it from how much it helps with soloing/tanking/etc.
having a primary that gives you some mitigation will also really help out. i went with stone cuz it just 'feels' powerful swinging that mallet. also spamming fault is not only humorous but very helpful b/c i can literally keep mobs on their tails while im beating them into mush with all the KD
mace, DB, claws(its like it was made for brutes), and SS also gives decent mitigation in one form or another if swinging a stone hammer doesnt tickle your fancy. dark melee is also loads of fun since you can spam a healing attack in your regular attack chain
/ELA is still a very viable secondary for any of these primaries, but as for other secondaries SR & shield are nice only needing a few sets to hit those softcaps, but shield takes a lot of rather expensive IOing to really shine. other sets that are late bloomers are EA and dark, they need some IOing to be more manageable but if you do it right they are loads of fun. -
Soul mastery is total win. i ran with mu on my own stone/wp first for the extra aoe dmg but then respecced for soul to see the difference and WOW...my survivability went higher than i ever would have thought. just the other day i did the ice mistral sf and mowed through the entire ambush archus spawns. while the rest of my team(an invuln tank included) eventually died i kept killin till the entire army was dead and the rest of he team was speechless

ok...swappped maneuvers for hasten and picked up an extra slot from tremor to get gloom all set. it was just nagging at me all night lol
im just not sure if i want decimation or devastation in gloom

Took me forever to get around to gettin his mids in line but i think i have an idea of what i want
getting gloom and not slotting it was absolutely painful but i just didnt have the slots and was more after dark oblit and DN anyways...
i know this needs tweaking but its something to work with

what do you plan on doing with this build? more soloing vs teams? or some of both?
whatever your plans i think you need more recharge. DM and FA both benefit from higher rech. that means soul drain and healing flames are up that much more and those 2 powers are absolutely critical for their respective sets.
while i normally say beef up your defenses this is a build where you dont need defense 'as' badly. shoot for 30-35% s/l and then just keep small purp insp to put you at softcap and have a little breathing room for defense debuffs.
another thing, you forgot to take into account FA's complete lack of KB protection, id recommend adding a steadfast +def unique and the KB prot into build asap. then id you're tight on slots use winters gift IOs in cj/sj/ss. 12 points of KB will cover you almost anything the game can throw your way
i dont think you need both consume and dark consumption...id give my vote to consume since its radius is twice that of DC
here's an very rough build but its a step in the right direction for you. i kept most everything similar, making only a few changes as far as powers go. it keeps in line with DM's ST attack chain to maximize efficencty on your dps, i got burn b/c once you can immob things via midnight grasp things will melt in front of your eyes.

part of me says go mu for more drain(i have an IO'd out elec/kin/mace corr so much love an appreciation for -end)...but the other half says soul for 2 reasons...besides the fact you could get 2 solid attacks, it'd add some extra flavor to your attack type arsenal so you could cover smash, energy, AND neg energy. then of course DN...that power alone is what helped me make my decision for my ss/dark.

I actually dont know why i didnt catch the winter gift for SJ. took one out of the KBs out and put it in rage for the reticle bonus to s/l defense.
i dont plan to pvp..ever...just not my thing. i just wanted a DA toon that can keep up with my elec/kin corr when it comes to mowing through mobs. i somehow managed a farming toon from elec blast, dunno how that happened but it works..i even out-perform a couple brutes i know and boy were they surprised. they only thought that they just need me for buffs!
other than that i guess im good to go...now just to lvl this monster!

Back in the beginning..like pre-issue 5 days, I had a storm/elec def..and it was good..really good.
But now we have corruptors and they are BETTER!
So like in the title I want a /storm but not sure about which blasting set to go with.
ive played almost every ranged set into 30s and just wanted to hear of anyones experiences as a /storm corr -
My ice/ff troller, Arklide, my longest-running active toon, has largely taken a back-set due to everyone's excitement over cold domination and my own altitis, but now thats over and this old dog needed a few new tricks.
I had previously specced him for soloing but even that still proved too slow compared to any of my other toons so Ive rolled him back into team support.
I think I'd be quite content with these numbers since I sped most of my time right there with the melees so I can get more mileage from AA.
Barring buying a purple set or 2 I dont see too much room for change but as we know its harder to critique our own work so I wanted some other opinions.

I just thought I'd post my planned build for my own brute here since several persons seem to be pretty knowledgeable about the set. currently he's lvl 20 and im doing my best to hold out till SOs and more importantly, energy drain.
I was always taught never to put all my eggs in 1 basket, so I try to go as cheap as possible so I can spend that saved influence outfitting my many many alts. i still manage to softcap s/l/e with f/c at 41% so i can live with that
I tried squeezing in as much +HP and rech as i could so i can last between energy drains and if nothing else hit aid self. also got soul mastery to ramp up dmg and darkest night should definitely help with keeping me alive longer. figured if i know ima be hitting energy drain as fast as it can recharge why not go ahead and add 1 more toggle lol

I by no means mean I must softcap to s/l, but anything over 30% i can pop a small insp and be at softcap.
Permadom would also be nifty, but Im not sure if it's as necessary for ice compared to other sets like fire or mind. -
Ok, Ive never made a dom past 30 but after seeing the masteries available an ice/fire dom just sounds too fun to pass up.
Ive played an ice controller for several years now and its by far my favorite set, but it always lacked the added oopmh of other sets(his /ff secondary wasnt much help either hehe).
But now that i have the time and infamy to blow I want to roll a dom but i lack much experience with the AT at higher lvls. I know i will be spending a lot of time in melee(AA is my bff) so I want to slot for as much s/l defense as i can. Im just looking for good advice on what powers i can hold off or skip altogether

Ive been toying around in mids but id like to see someone else's take on things before I post anything, I dont think my ego could handle the blow lol -
Ive decided to bring out my brute now that my main toon is IO'd out.
I plan to solo mostly with him, teaming mostly just for TFs and such, but I was looking into whether I should stick to my original plan of getting more aoe dmg via the mu or soul mastery pools, or settle for less aoe and get energy mastery..even then i will probably get energy torrent just for the extra attack -
Im also giving a nod in favor of WP for DB...having to constantly stop attacking to hit your heals can mess up your combos, whereas spamming the sweep combo is about all you need to get most of any lost dmg taken with RttC on.
I _highly_ recommend tough and weave on both, but aid self shouldnt be needed for wp. unless you just really want it.
BrandX was spot-on for the differences between the 2. Regen means watching health bar and mobs to maximize combos whereas Wp is just make sure all those toggles are on and get to hackin n slashin -
DB on either one can be amazing. brutes will slightly have higher survivability but scrappers are always a blast, especially with all the crits.
one thing to know ahead of time is which combos you want. at higher lvls i usually just have sweep and attack vitals. with enough recharge i can use the combos almost constantly and keep my attack chain flowing with no problems.
since you said you want to make good use of combos id recommend picking up either maneuvers/tactics or just focused accuracy -

So Im wanting to roll a dark armor anything...tank or brute preferably...maybe a scrap if i get real crazy but I dont really know what to pair with it. Ive looked into ell the option and im tryin to weigh the pros/cons. Ive had one of those +end procs begging for use and i cant take it anymore. I mostly team but Id like to be able to solo at a decent rate should the need arise.
TANK
Dark--fits the theme, solid dmg, not much mitigation, extra heal
SS--its just good...really good lol
Ice--less dmg but much higher survivability. i took one to 40s pre-changes to frozen aura and still enjoyed it just fine, prolly way more fun now too
Fire--dmg out the wazoo, no mitigation to speak of
KM--no clue but its pretty and has some mitigation via KD
Electric--good dmg, nice mitigation with all the KD
Brute/Scrap
--anything from the tank that can apply--
Claws--had fun with the set as a scrap, but idk how well it'd play out here
DB--i know itsa solid set and as a brute i can drop nimble slash later(hence why no tank)
As for masteries depending on the melee set i will prolly go body for the extra end rec or dip into the dark side and use soul mastery for darkest night(god thats tempting too) and the extra attacks
I tend to avoid purple sets cuz im cheap(tho far from broke) and gear for more s/l defense but as a dark im wondering if going for some of everything would be better since ill be spamming dark regen anyways -
Ive used my elec/kin corr to off-tank stike/taskforces. Let the real tank handle the mobs while I hold the AV or vice versa...depending on the mobs
most of the team was crapping their pants when I charged the Riders during lgtf's...id just giggle and tell them to keep up or shut up -
This is my current build on this toon, Im just looking to see if I missed any glaring holes that need attention. This will be my primary so no expense will be spared if I can help it.
I built him mainly to be a team's best helper(hence stealth/tp) at the cost of some personal survivability.
Also I havent really picked which incarnate Im using yet so any recommendations would be welcome
I also know its weird that I use lots of end reducs as a kin but I find Id rather be blasting, buffing, or even healing than hitting transference all the time. I use trans mostly as an opener on the highest ranked enemy and follow up with a FS+short circuit combo.

here's another thing i forgot to mention..repulsion bomb...it puts the fun functional! its my only spammable hard control power for my toon, but besides that its still worth noting. mediocre dmg, but the knockdown/disorient component is very nice.
ive played every controller secondary to around 40 so I can understand why people love playing an empath, but personally id only ever play it again as a defender. tho i guess 4 numinas would also make each heal fuctional so you'd still have slots for mind.
either way i recommend one thing. learn and use keybinds like your life depended on it. my numpad is set 1-9 to target the respective teammate, and lastly my pet. then * and - are my shields. empathy could benefit from setting heal other and fort for more intense fights(saved me and my teams *** SO many team on my own emp).
one other thing, tend to more openly praise empaths vs ff b/c they see the results more clearly. empath is a more reactive support whereas bubbles passively reduce overall dmg. so if you love to be praised, be the emp. if you can be content knowing you do your part, go for ff

Mike has the right ideas for pros/cons. Ive played an ice/ff for over 4 years and all I say is its my 2nd favorite troller secondary. FF is a very easy to play set..turn on disp bubble, bubbles allies..get controlling. Its also requires less commitment for slotting(I get away w/ 4 LotGs per bubble). Mind is definitely a better way to stay occupied until its time to refresh shields. I had room to pick up the med pool so I can do quick heals for others and myself.
I get lots of compliments b/c I stop incoming dmg via added defense and slows(since I lack much hard control) but mind can easily manage multiple groups. I just like that FF gives me more freedom to focus on my controlling and other tasks.
As an added bonus FF makes is easier to softcap to range. Mine is currently softcapped to s/l and range. -
My elec/kin is my best overall toon EVER. Electric is on the low end as far as damage, but has decent mitigation with all the end drain(and the animation most mobs go thru when you hit them with potent ones like short circuit), plus a hold. Kinetics makes up for the lack of oomph in your attacks and gives you plenty to do if you're A.D.D. like myself. My toon is built to be a pve/taskforcer so I picked up powers from concealment, teleportation, and speed.
Basically my toon is now a healing, blasting, buffing fiend that can even stealth/tp allies all before lvl 20. With i19 i dropped fitness, picked up leadership, and even the sentinel for alil extra dmg on the side.
His concept is a kid who's body is flooded with nanites passed down from his super villain mother, so I feel ya on the tech theme.
I specced for defense as best I could. I wanted to be able to stay in the fray and survive the aggro I always manage to pull.
If kin isnt your cup of tea, devices would be a solid second to keep your theme. Plus the shield generator is just awesome. Rad would both also possible, but it'd be much harder on your blue bar to maintain(even though its less clicking).
If you need some help coming up with a workable build I can prolly whip up somethin for ya that you can tweak to your taste.
