Ive decided to bring out my brute now that my main toon is IO'd out.

I plan to solo mostly with him, teaming mostly just for TFs and such, but I was looking into whether I should stick to my original plan of getting more aoe dmg via the mu or soul mastery pools, or settle for less aoe and get energy mastery..even then i will probably get energy torrent just for the extra attack

Stick to your original plan. Darkest Night isn't quite a Godmode for a willpower, but it does make diving into packs of x8 arachnos less annoying - and fury fueled aoes are always fun.


Weight training: Because you'll never hear someone lament "If only I were weaker, I could have saved them."

I don't believe Darkest Night's -damage attribute is resistible, so it's a rather nice resistance toggle. Not to mention that DN is really just extra gravy; Gloom is the real gem of Soul Mastery. Gloom is one of the highest DPA attacks available to Brutes.

Took me forever to get around to gettin his mids in line but i think i have an idea of what i want

getting gloom and not slotting it was absolutely painful but i just didnt have the slots and was more after dark oblit and DN anyways...

i know this needs tweaking but its something to work with

I'm assuming it's a respec buid, but still, not taking Fault until 47 is going to make exemping down very painful IMHO. It's an awesome mitigation tool and is part of the synergy Stone Melee has with Willpower to begin with.

Looking at base values, it only does 30 or so less damage than Heavy Mallet.
By having it as part of your attack routine the additional knockdown also helps keep the mob you're fighting bouncing.

I'm sure you can get by without it, but I just like having the power.
