so i really want to build a elec/something corr, tech oriented, kinda like a power suit or gadgets thing, and not sure what secondary to go with.... and on top of that i didn't see ANY elec/* guides at all in the guides section.

anyone make an elec/* into a decent corr? doesn't have to be uber powerful munchkin build or anything, just solo'able.

oh, and i'm kind of a "theme geek", and since this is tech based.... no /storm or /dark, as i can't see those as tech based at all..... i know, i hobble myself with these stupid restrictions, but it's my neurosis, and i like 'em

Oh yeah, that was the time that girl got her whatchamacallit stuck in that guys dooblickitz and then what his name did that thing with the lizards and it cleared right up.

screw your joke, i want "FREEM"

I've a friend who went Elec/Kin on his Corrupter and uses it to sap the enemies of End. In addition to whatever else he does. I'm busy blasting myself, but he does good with it.

Elec/Traps would be an interesting combo that you don't see very often.

Electrical blast is low-ish damage, since it has no Tier 3 Blast like Power Burst/Blaze, but gets Voltaic Sentinel instead, which I belive does not Scourge.

However, think of this as front-loaded damage. You can cast the Sentinel, run in and drop your Traps, and its blasting away for you as you spend animation time laying Acid Mortar and so on.
Elec Blast also has no cones, and traps requires you to be in the thick of things, so that helps.

So there's a bit of synergy there.

Trip Mine will help with the low damage.
Traps may help you get away with using Snipes in combat too. Acid Mortar and Seeker Drones tank, and Poison Gas Trap keeps the enemies busy, allowing you to get off a shot.

And it fits your concept of a tech themed character quite nicely.

Sentinel should Scourge, the Dom version does.

My elec/kin is my best overall toon EVER. Electric is on the low end as far as damage, but has decent mitigation with all the end drain(and the animation most mobs go thru when you hit them with potent ones like short circuit), plus a hold. Kinetics makes up for the lack of oomph in your attacks and gives you plenty to do if you're A.D.D. like myself. My toon is built to be a pve/taskforcer so I picked up powers from concealment, teleportation, and speed.

Basically my toon is now a healing, blasting, buffing fiend that can even stealth/tp allies all before lvl 20. With i19 i dropped fitness, picked up leadership, and even the sentinel for alil extra dmg on the side.

His concept is a kid who's body is flooded with nanites passed down from his super villain mother, so I feel ya on the tech theme.

I specced for defense as best I could. I wanted to be able to stay in the fray and survive the aggro I always manage to pull.

If kin isnt your cup of tea, devices would be a solid second to keep your theme. Plus the shield generator is just awesome. Rad would both also possible, but it'd be much harder on your blue bar to maintain(even though its less clicking).

If you need some help coming up with a workable build I can prolly whip up somethin for ya that you can tweak to your taste.

*grins* yeah I have an elec./dark ((I know you said no storm, or dark)) his tech origion was an overexposure to an experimental sample of carbon gathering nanites...the electricty was the static millions of tiny creatures generate and dark powers mists and swirls look awesome thinking of them as a swarm of vicious critters....but he isn't a power blaster but debuffing, healing, invisable machine...

Look in the Blaster section for an electric guide. They are the same powersets.

I went Elec/Kin... very nice....

Electric/Kin is often recommended for the synergy in the End draining. I personally found myself bored. Kin just doesn't have a lot of tools and toys for playing around, I found myself essentially doing the same thing all the time. Siphon, Short Circuit, blast long enough to take some damage, Transfusion. Lather, rinse, repeat. Yawn. I was doing plenty of damage, and not in any danger, but I just wasn't enjoying it.

Surprisingly, my best results were with an Electric/Sonic. The damage was still low, as Electric tends to be. But I picked up a Revolver from the Market, and with Sonic's Res debuffs I found that one attack was all I needed to get a rounded-out chain early on. On a team you will probably find that there is always a tank or something to anchor Disruption Field on. Solo, you may have to use a trick like I did, I got a Red Wisp Vet Reward and cast that on him. I usually had to keep recasting him if he took a hit, (one HP ) but most of the time he was able to lay out the AoE Res debuff for me.

Although I have never tried Electric/Traps I agree it could be a good combo. Acid Mortar will help bring your damage up, and the "pets" of Traps will work conceptually with the Voltaic Sentinel.

I am also recommending Elec/kin; but /rad is also a good debuffing secondary which can leave room for extra pool powers if you want more versatility.

I'll somewhat agree with Jade here and admit that you're gonna hit the same combos pretty often, but with the sapping and good heal going on, your damage values could be floored and you'll still be reasonably survivable. My elec/kin does a decent job soloing EBs & I don't have any significant defense value.
