Quote:All of the sound effects are all pretty much the same too. However, it was Crypitic Studios that originally made CoH, so I guess those sound effects are technically their property.you know, after checking out the travel powers from CO from a youtube vid ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noayIOJP6EQ ) I notice ALOT of their animations... look extremely similar to ours, especially the flight ones with hover and in flight, arms, legs, poses... all practically 100% the same... and the wing flap. you figure they would at least make the shoulders move to simulate the muscle flexing the wings to make them flap but nooooo..... lol in my mind after watching a few youtube vids on CO... I gotta find my eyewash cause I feel dirty...

Your saying Pick powers like a blaster until 20ish for stamina, then respec into more of teh secondary powers you missed before? I generally do that on my Corruptors, none of which got past level 17, mind you, and they were all still pretty boring.

I'd much rather slot a build for survivability ona brute then waste that many slots dedicated to recharge. Have Rage up all the time, and that only takes 2 slots (I advise Adj Targetting Rech and ToHit/Rech, and the few set bonuses for recharge that end up in your build should be enough. If not, 2 Generic Recharge would be fine.

Electric Armor isnt bad for Tanks, though still lackluster in a sense that Fire Aura isnt as survivable as Invul etc etc.
As for the Shield or Invul question, both are great sets. For teaming though, I'd say Invulnerability. Check out Call_Me_Awesome's invulnerability and the Defense Softcap guide for slotting advice. Allow to explain this decision.
Shield is well known for its +DMG Taunt Aura and ability to softcap positional defense with a bit of cash. The set does come with Grant Cover which is, in all honesty, mediocre. The set itself is pretty good on Endurance, and comes with the nifty shield charge. However, survivability is ultimately your goal, and Invulnerability shines there with high resists and typed defenses. It also comes with a Self Heal and +HP Clickie that Shield lacks, as well as alot of Def Debuff Resistance with the recent (not that recent, but whatever) Invulnerability tweaks. Your damage output wouldn't be great single target, but your AoEs (Thunder Strike, Chain Induction (kinda) and Lightning Rod) will make holding aggro on multiple groups much easier when coupled with Invincibility and Taunt. Shield's ability to put out extra damage is based on the number of mobs around you, and that shouldn't be a concern of yours. On teams you need to hold aggro of big spawns and of single AVs alike, and Survivabilty is key in that area.
Not to mention having 2 attacks that teleport you is just silly. -

Wow. You see, some people don't understand the meaning of this thread. It's noa bout complaining about the 3rd mission, it's about pointing out that it's been this way for so long. Keeping it this way, especially on one of the best TF/SFs in the game, doesn't exactly speak well for this game's development team. This merely meant to help the developers in their quest for ultimate game playability.

My Rad/EM Is a monster on test, even with the 4/8. I plan on slotting him for recharge either way, and I could probably get the recharge down to about 1.5 or less sec on Neutrino Bolt and fill it with procs.

I like the redside 'split up' mentality, mostly because almost everyone redside has a certain degree of self-sufficiency that they can handle it in small groups.
In an AE Farm recently I was on a near perfect team, only problem was, there was 2 Brutes tanking, together, they were fine, apart, they were crushed. No one believed my Crab Spider coul tank, so I decided to prove it. I went back to the beginning and started from the end and soloed half-way up the opposite side and ended up meeting the rest of the team there. Both Brutes were prompty kicked on teh next run.
I swear, most people just dont understand that I can tank AND give 21% defense to all for the entire team at the same time.
Also, I frequently jump ahead of my team to start tanking a bit early, and I usually yell "POWER!!!" in a 'Dark Lord of the Sith' kinda way whenever I solo multiple mobs that I overaggro with. :P -
Quote:WANT.I also want to be able to attack civilians on Mayhem Maps. Add a new set of badges:
Defeat 100 Civilians: Attacker
Defeat 200 Civilians: Life Taker
Defeat 300 Civilians: Psychopath
Defeat 400 Civilians: Sociopath
I agree with the angry statements about the lack of redside shinies, and would love a 5th patron set, but the fact remains that there isnt a 5th character to be a 5th patron yet. Perhaps Lord Recluse himself with a patron set/arc? Maybe a non-arachnos villain to choose as apatron, with an arc based on eroding Recluse's power base?
Fire Mastery for Scrappers is fine, but if every other class blueside is getting new Epic sets than us redsiders deserve new sets too. -
Also, if you play through the whole VEAT Specific story arc, you end up leaving the army and proving how amazing you are by beating the crap out of anyone in your way, INCLUDING Kalinda, to the point where you officially are a Destined One.

Algorithm, a monday night Static team on Villain-side, has an open spot for 1 more person. Our theme is of misfits, brought together by the scientific, technological andoverall maniacal hands of 'Mister'. He is a mysterious benefactor that pulled our group together using the strands of fate that he put in place. RP-Wise, the group s tragic, eventually being tied to Mister indefinately and doing his bidding. However, that point is far from now. The group is a partial marriage of PvE, Arena, and Roleplay. The group so far consists of the following...
Doctor Volcanna (Fire/Pain Corruptor). The group's token scientist, known for creating very experimental devices.
Noxtech (Radiation/Traps Corruptor). The Technological Tinkerer and criminal, though none of his tech is of his own design.
Ann Arckey (Mind/Fire Dominator). The group's psychic, known for her immense power potential and occasional 'episodes'.
Shatterswift (Mace/Willpower Brute). The Cyborg, containing the still living remains of a young girl who has developed a tast for carnage.
Arcwave (Electric/Willpower Stalker). A man whose electrical conductivity was to be used as a weapon. His abilities are used for reconaissance and assasination purposes.
We have room for one more person, preferrably another Brute or Corruptor. The team is currently around level 15ish.
Anyone interested can apply here, post your character concept and AT/Powersets.
The team meets onday nights at 8pm EST, if you cannot commit to meeting at that time, do not bother applying. -
Neko and Vis and myself are here waiting for the rest of you.

Play a Hero and you'll never fight Blasters again. Except in Warburg.

Archery/Energy is an amazing PvE combo. In PvP it's somewhat lackluster compared to Rad/ (coming soon), Psi/, Sonic/ Or /Fire. In that order.

1.) Only Masterminds can control their pets directly, everyone else just hasthem follow them around 3/4th braindead (MM pets were already half braindead).
2.) Yes, the build is generally reffered to as a Crabbermind build. The build focuses on +Recharge trying to get the pets perma, while taking groups buffs and the AoEs, but not focusing on them as much. Its a form of survivability, however, even with the Disrupters on Perma, the spiderlings will still genrally die before the power is done recharging. It's still a viable road to take however, so dont count it out entirely.
I personally believe that Crab Spiders can offer way more than just pets, so I usually suggest that people who want them, take them, but use them only when needed. It's a choice you have to make, considering all of the other amazing build options you have as a crab. -
I use it in Tactics, and, while it's hard to notice going off, I'd say 6 slot focused accuracy with Gaussian anyway just for the amazing set bonuses. I'd say it's more of an asset than a loss in the long run either way.

No, sadly. Sirens level is 30, right? The END Drain powers and debuffs come at level 35 and 38. I would suggest Sonic/Pain or Sonic/Rad for Sirens. Radiations key powers are early in the set.

Honestly, if you're not going /Psy Blast then roll a corruptor instead. Scourge makes PvPing a little more bearable, not to mentiont they just put out more damage in general.
