    1) The AT I have been playing all this time: Controllers. /Kins specifically. With one or two exceptions I have every type of /Kin Controller at 50. Fully IO'd.

    2) My ice/kin controller, Frost Aura.

    3) My Fire/Psi dom. Thought I'd say a controller didn't you?

    EDIT: Current fav toons though are my VEATs. I have 2 of each--soldier and widow. Both with both builds. 1 NightWidow/Fortunata. 1 Bane/Crab.
  6. Interesting discussion.

    An easier (in theory) way to test this is to make an AE mission, go into playtest mode and set yourself on invincible and put in an AV.

    You'll be doing the damage to defeat them but won't die.

    Make them like the "nukes" my Fortunata and /Psi Dom have.

    tl;dr: reduce their damage, up their accuracy and drop the crashes.

    Yeah, I'm laughing at folks that think realistic physics has ANYTHING TO DO WITH ANY MMO ON THE MARKET AT ALL. Not just the superhero ones.

    I can EASILY see the devs handwaving away the breathing underwater issue.

    Folks take their science in comics and mmos waaaay too seriously.

    If we are going to go that route then a man/cyborg/whatever in tons of plate armor should SINK LIKE A STONE. Wouldn't be so great for those that choose heavy armor for their costumes, now would it?

    Playing a Scrapper like a Tank is difficult but possible with the build and team make-up but playing it like anything else is pointless because he lacks the abilities to do so. You're not going to magically do more damage from acting like a fool and aggroing stuff and you can pretend all you want but just attacking from stealth isn't going to give you any burst.

    Playing a Brute like a tanker is only effective if you provide mutual attention to your offense. Because a taunting brute is useless but a taunting brute that is laying on the SMASH thick for doing so is not. Playing a brute like anything but a brute is a disservice to the AT itself, like playing a dominator but never using domination.

    Playing a Tanker like anything but a Tanker is similarly a disservice to the AT. With your HP, resist/def numbers and caps and the lvl you have access to your shields, it's rather unsatisfying *not* to try and take a lot of hits to see your HP move at least a little.

    Playing a Stalker like a scrapper ain't hard. In fact, that's exactly how you play them if, in fact, playing like a scrapper is simply running around killing stuff. Gah, are people so egotistical about their scrappers that they think they have something *special*? Hell, even a Blaster can play like a scrapper. My dominator can play like a scrapper. Scrappers are the *least* specialized AT in the game and practically anyone can emulate one. Stalkers probably come the closest to their outright DPS with the advantage of more burst. Playing a Stalker like any other melee AT is rather pointless as they either lack the tools to do it consistently or lose effectiveness.

    tl;dr ver: Playing a Tanker like anything but a tanker is pointless.
    Playing a Brute like anything but a brute is pointless.
    Playing a Stalker like anything but a stalker is pointless.
    Playing a Scrapper entails doing anything you effing want so stfu and play!

    You missed the part where folks explained the thing you can do while they hibernoob, or the fact that they CAN DO JACK SHITE while in it. yeah let's dumb this game down even more.

    edit: On the other hand, whenever I enter a mission at the same time someone I know has a slow system does, they only arrived inside when they were done loading. Often for like half of a minute. I was standing alone there until they had finished, and when I then talked to them they right upon seeing them enter they immediately replied, so were clearly there and not loading any more.
    So this bug cant be happening ALL the time. Or its new.
    Been happening regularly on certain maps since COV came into existence. Not new.

  19. What if they built a mechanic that increased the AMOUNT or percentage of damage done over time, the longer a mob was in the DOT? Culminating in an end burst of damage?

    Or an increase in damage in the amount each tick does once the mob starts getting below a certain percentage of health? (Someone correct me, but isn't this one how scourge currently works?)

    Or a combo of the two over various attacks, like the previously mentioned WoW Warlocks?

    Changing the OP's idea: I can't see such a set having no mitigation. Even WoW Warlocks have mitigation in addition to DOTs, in the form of: channeled heals, fears and threat reduction mechanics.

    See, it's funny how different players' experiences will differ. What you just described is kind of the ideal way something like this should work from my perspective - so what you think of as AE being "murdered", I'm seeing as AE being made worthwhile.     That issue never affected me. As there is a room that cancels out all powers in the AE. Thus I could form teams in that room and not have the frame rate drop . . . back when I had the desire to use AE.

    Now I just set my difficulty to x8 and solo farm. And now I get purples.

    Issue 16 was full of win.
