Re: Reality
While I don't particularly want to see full populations of wildlife roaming most of Paragon City there are a few places they could be appropriate. Aside from the animal companions mentioned above for various villain groups, Eden could justifiably have good wildlife for the heroes to fight. Rebuild Boomtown and put a zoo in it, then add a zone event where the animals get out (villains causing chaos or some such).
Rogue Isles would be a bit harder to justify, but I'm sure LR has a zoo somewhere. -

It is, or was, the fastest travel power in the game. It just takes a bit of practice to learn to use well. It is my default travel power of choice unless there is an over riding thematic reason to get something else. And it is by FAR the coolest way to travel I've seen in ANY game.
So I must disagree with you on this one. -
Quote:That and the numerous other stealth TP nerfs over the years have really ticked me off. TP is the coolest travel power in the game and I love it to death but OMG I wish they'd put some thought into fixing the things that caused the stealth nerfs to it. I'm glad the whole "find the magic pixel" (aka Red Target of Doom) bit is gone, but not being able to teleport while zoomed out because the camera is behind something is pretty bogus.Unless you get one of those every increasing missions where TP is supressed entirely and is the only travel power that is.
Also, the camdist nerf (range went from 900 or so down to 220 or so) really messed with TPers ability to vertically travel conveniently. Don't bother giving me workarounds, I have literally 500 hundred of levels of TP experience if not more, so i already know my way around this. -
Feeling entitled, are we?
I won't see it for at least another year as a Vet reward. And as I've just gotten serious about some marketeering I sure could use it. But I can wait.
What I REALLY want to see (besides a base AH access item) is Web access to the AH or, better yet, some smartphone apps (Android/iPhone) to allow mobile access. When I can get into the game I'd much rather be playing City of Heroes than City of Day Traders. When I can't get into the game would be the ideal time for me to be marketeering and crafting, at least from my point of view. -
Quote:Excellent suggestion!!!Here's what I would like them to do with Dimension Shift (and Black Hole too), change it from a Target AoE to a Location targeted 'pet' (like Quicksand or Volcanic Gasses) that pulses a short duration PBAoE Enemy phase, AND a PBAoE ALLY phase, and allow for the PvP mechanics for phaseing to work in PvE as well if they don't already (phased targets can attack other phased targets). The pulses would have to be set to ignore phase in order to keep mobs from phasing in and out as the power ticks, which we know they can do already cause Hamidon ignores phase.
This keeps from breaking the Cottage rule (the primary purpose of the power is unchanged ( it's still an AoE phase power)) but it removes one of the biggest annoyances of phase powers (having to wait till they expire to kill the phased mobs) by allowing you to enter/exit the phase shift field and then attack the phased mobs.
You could change the name to Dimensional Rift to match the new functionality of the power. (Dimension Shift is more of an action, where Dimensional Rift is more of a Thing.) The name Black Hole still works great though.
Quote:For a Controller I'm inclined to agree with this, Grav isn't that bad really. Sorting Propel (make it a very narrow cone and improve the animation time) and Dimension shift out, and maybe increasing the AOE of Wormhole to closer to other sets AOEs and it's done.
On a Domi though it really needs more. More secondary / soft control built in somewhere, like Ice has. Doesn't need to be -recharge but it does need something additional added in some way. -
The method I've had good luck with is KB. If he's on his back, he can't fight back. And that includes Bifurcating.
So Storm/Eng Def, Eng/Storm Corr, Elec/Earth Dom, etc, etc, etc, can whittle him down at their leisure. Of course there's no reason NOT to put him in the lava, I'm just saying that it's not necessary if you have enough KB to keep him consistently on his back. -
Quote:And even that's not up to date. We know the names of all the slots (unless they change?) simply by looking in the Incarnate interface. Here's what we know about the future Incarnate Slots according to Going Rogue. A lot more is known about it then what is presented there due to info that was released in Betas that may or may not still be relevant.

Choices are good. I'm in favor of the original suggestion, but I can certainly respect the position of those who don't want to go that route. Shoot, I have several ILL controllers, I probably don't want this on all of them.

Quote:I don't. And I got pretty upset when it was categorized as "For Fun", so please enlighten me. Here or on the RO forums if you don't want to threadjack.Do you actually know the forum history as to why it's in this section?
And for the record, I'd love to see most of the things in this thread. Costume options in particular, but APP/PPP is good too.
Been griping for the Kheldian sash as an option for a while now. Would also like to see the option to mix and match VEAT uniforms with other costumes on costume slots 2-5. -
Quote:Because MMs can't get it as an Inherent? :PNever understood why this is a separate MM attack when the Prot Bots get it as an upgrade
More seriously, I love it. I stack it with the Pro Bots version. I think the A-Bot has an AoE Stun/Diso as well, but I can't swear to it right off. -

Quote:I was thinking they would be clones of Ninja Run, movement wise, with the Prestige Power Slide animation (minus the glowie feet).Ice gliding would be nice. I suppose it would be similar to blending Prestige Power Slide and Super Jump while generating an ice road underfoot that would fade/melt over time or distance of the character from it.
What would be the other 3 powers from the set or were you thinking just individual travel powers from an alternate travel power pool set?
Yes, I said "they". I am envisioning an Element Slide power pool where you pick a branch and all powers use that themed animations. Ice Slide, Lava Slide, Water Slide (you create a nice breaker and surf the crest of it), Fire Slide, Earth Slide. Or if that's not possible then make X number of pools where the only real difference (in the travel power, and possibly some of the other powers) is the animation. -
Quote:Identical recipes (same recipe, same level) can be stacked in the market, up to 10. So can identical salvage items. Identical recipes/salvage can can be bid for and bought in stacks.Every item in the game has a unique ID associated with it.
[at least I assume it does, that's how most MMOs deal with creatable/destroyable/decayable/tradable/etc items]
I would assume that they only added one field to hold the attached
item's ID number.
Hence, 1 item at a time attachment. -
Quote:I'd gladly pay for the ability to send stacks of 10 with a 30 day expiration on the emails rather than the current 60 day.I suspect it's mainly to keep people from abusing... er using emails as additional storage space, more so then the already can and do.
That would probably do more to reduce the abuse than keeping us limited to 1 item per email.
Or even better, what I'd REALLY like to see is common storage. Share the vault between characters so I don't have to bounce all over the place trying to recall who's got that Holographic Memory I need at the moment. -
Quote:This is what I was trying to say earlier, regardless of how poorly the OP understands the game mechanics.Regardless of how well he expresses himself, I agree with JoshexDirad. We have all these invention sets for various aspects. We have 'uncommon (yellow)', 'rare (orange)', 'very rare (purple)', and 'pvp' invention set categories. Why shouldn't we have at least one set of each category for each aspect. Give me a purple Accurate Defense Debuff set. Let me see a PvP Pet Damage set. Where's the purple Sniper set?
What the set boni are for the purple sets we don't have is not relevant. Make the sets that don't exist for the powers they don't exist for and the devs can assign whatever set boni they feel are relevant. Bearing in mind that the Rule of Five would still apply I would hope they would have different boni than the existing sets. -
I've suggested a David Lopan Mandarin style hat in Jay's thread, and a Chinese skull cap with queue, so my Chinese/Oriental characters can look like something other than peasants.
"Native American" (aka American Indian) costume parts as well, there have been several heroes of this heritage in comics. I've got a couple myself and they are HARD to make in City. -
Quote:I'd say that sums it up.This is the key chord that should suggest that something's wrong with the temporary power recipes. People are just deleting them without even giving them to a vendor, much less putting them on the market.
That's my strategy as well. I delete the common IO recipes too, unless I'm near a vendor or know right off which character to email it to.
Seriously, the drop tables need to be cleaned up, not cluttered up more. -
I like it.
I'd probably add a KB protection debuff of 1 or 2 mag to Jinx to simulate the odds increasing that the target would trip, fall, etc.
I've skimmed the rest of the set, love the randomness of Roulette, and will comment on everything else later.
Nice work so far. -
Quote:Not every character can use every set. Why not put some more variety in the Purple sets? You must really hate having any holes or weak spots, and/or any part of your build not being Epic.
Why not give us some high end stuff on the drop tables now that they've been cluttered up with a bunch of temp powers.
Don't get me wrong, some of the temp powers are nice, but they're no substitute for even the lowliest Purple drop. -
The only think REALLY missing from Praetoria is SGs, and half of what you want an SG for (teleporters) isn't needed.
Still, if the devs expand Praetoria to more zones (for more levels of content) it might behoove them to give us the ability to make SGs there. -
I believe that is planed for a future release of the Titan Sentinel. You'd have to double check on their boards to be certain though.

Quote:My understanding is that the Syndicate is what the Tsoo became.Skip the Carnie of Shadows. They're existing, don't bother with them.
However, the Carnie of Light could work entirely different... maybe be that Psionic Melee people have been wanting. No idea where to go from there.
I'll admit, here, though, that the first time I saw the Syndicate, I thought they were the Praetorian version of the Carnie of Shadows. What with all the suits and pyros I saw in the first couple of missions being female, male strikers and swordmasters, and the remainder female.
I wish that was true, but it wasn't. Just odd luck. -
Additional purple sets would be good. It would help put some stuff back at the top end of the drop tables since we got so many temp power recipes in the last couple of issues.
Sure, a Slow purple set will be the step child but at least there will be one. And for characters built around slows this will be a good thing. -
Quote:That's the one. Sorry I didn't have time to quote it myself earlier. This is the part your talking about right?
"Theres been a couple of things that weve looked at in other games and said thats good for that type of game, but it doesnt fit into the City of Heroes universe. Im wracking my brains over this. The Nemesis System [from Champions Online] was something we looked at, but it was something that would be very limiting in the end. We decided against it. I think that was what pushed us even more into the mission architect system because then it wasnt pre-canned missions that your nemesis was going to show up in. You could create your own nemesis in the mission architect, and you could craft the story of you fighting your nemesis in the mission architect. Then you could go into that mission and execute that story. That was kind of where our version ended up."
As i stated before the only problem with the architect system is that it only allows you to make 3 missions. I constantly get frustrated because I cannot post the second installment of my second story without deleting my first one. And also, if I want my fourth character to have a "nemesis" in AE, I would have to delete one of my previously made missions. Another problem is as I stated before, the insentive to go to the AE is quite small. Sure there is tickets which can get you rare salvage and a chance to get a recipe that you want, but unless you play a farm mission, the ticket amount recieved is quite small. I know they decieded against it, but in the future, a newer revised nemesis system could be used to add on to the existing AE system because more missions against your nemesis system would mean better development of the story of your character and more rewards for completing missions.
