    FYI... The Vet Reward Buff Pet is so fragile, that if your toon sneezes, it will die. If there is a strong gust of wind in Faultline, it will die. If you ask the pet to "keep an eye out for trouble" as you enter City Hall to pay your Base Upkeep, it will die. If you tell your pet that WWs will be down all weekend, it will die. If two vets cast their pets and the pets see eachother, they both die. If you think your pet is cute, and you give it a gentle pat on the head, a pinch on the cheek, or some ice cream, it will die. As you read this post on the forums, your Vet Reward Buff Pet is slowly dying inside.

    This is nothing new. I have long since stopped casting it, because there is no use in having something that "buffs" you, if it's not going to stay up when you get within 1,000 yards of an enemy. The buff the pet gives is already laughable. The amount of time you have to spend in-game re-casting it because "it died" just adds to the laughter.

    So, don't be suprised if you notice your pet died because you zoned.

  2. I have a GEForce 9600M GT laptop card, and I noticed a definitive improvement in FPS... I had to put all the UM settings to "medium" previously to get a full 30FPS, but now with that new driver installed that supports OpenGL 3.3 and OpenGL 4, I can get 30FPS with all the UM settings on "high" or "Ultra" (depending on the setting).

  3. You're braver than I am... I've solo'd the Posi before (and posted a screenshot), but I would NEVER do it in human form... At level 20, human formers are in "embryo" stage, and are not fully developed... (haha) So, I did it in my tri-form build. You don't want to try to "solo" any TFs on a human-former until at least level 40, in my opinion...

    It's just closed beta. It's not like it's the end of the world or something.

    I apologize if my post hurt anyone's feelings about the matter--my intention was to clarify that what they are testing currently was two of the highest-advertised aspects of Going Rogue: Ultra Mode and Demon Summoning. Whether or not Demon Summoning (or even Dual Pistols) is a part of Going Rogue shouldn't even be a point of contention. To put it as simply as I can: you can't get access to Dual Pistols or Demon Summoning unless you buy Going Rogue. I don't believe that's ever been a point of debate.

    Now, because they ARE testing Demon Summoning (regardless of whether or not you believe Ultra Mode = i17), that means they ARE testing an *aspect* of Going Rogue. Whether or not you think you should be in CB or not is your own problem. Contact Customer Support if you think you should.

    For my part (as I stated before), I will not. I wouldn't properly be able to test for bugs because of current r/l issues, and therefore shouldn't waste the Dev's time.

    I have it from reliable sources that they ARE. That's why I don't believe all this BS about "i17 is seperate than GR," because 3/4 of what they're testing right now IS GR, as it was announced at Hero-Con...

    What I believe is that it will be done in waves, even if it means those of use who qualify for CB won't get in until a week before it goes to open beta.

    At this point, I truly don't care if I get in at all anymore... I've started to have a lot of r/l issues coming up. so I haven't spent nearly the amount of time that I'd like to in the game...

  10. Current testing includes no less than 2 highly advertised components (possibly more) of Going Rogue. I would advise that you send a note via customer support notifying them of the problem.

    And, no, I'm not breaking the NDA, because I'm not in closed beta--I'm in the same situation as you are, Robo_Knight.

    That's a nice thought in theory, but fails in practice. I had several friends in the last closed beta (for dual pistols) who had no access to the closed beta section--but they could log on to the test server. They would have never known they were in, had they not actually downloaded the patch, applied it, and tried logging in.

    On top of that, it was ALSO explicitly stated before that ULTRA MODE would be a part of Going Rogue. The entire reason I participated in the Loyalty program and dropped that huge chunk of money at one time (when I could barely afford it) was specifically to see Ultra Mode early.

    So, now that Ultra Mode is now *seperate?* from Going Rogue, we can't get access to it, even if we qualify for Going Rogue beta?

    That seems very faulty to me.

    On topic, I would love to see something like this implemented, even if it was to give EM a "no fx" option.... I would also like to have my pistols stay out when using some of the 2ndary melee powers, so it would look like I was clocking someone with a pistol upside the head...

    This is pretty much how I'm looking at it... More Kheld players are great, but if you've only played your first character up to lvl 20 before making one, then picking up a Kheld for the first time can be pretty overwhelming and complex for a lot of people--a little less so for VEATs, but still...

    I actually hope exactly the opposite. I think it's fantastic that the Devs who are associated with characters in the game (who have certain *personalities*) actually take on the character of that toon and post exactly like that person would speak in-game.

    If you've done any of the Television story arc (and actually paid attention to any of the dialogue, instead of blindly clicking through everything), you would appreciate that he posts exactly like he "speaks" in-game.

    It's awesome.

    That said, I'm a fellow Dr. Aeon supporter, if only for the fact that he promises "Ultra Mode" early...

    The point at which I hit lvl 47 and can start implementing my Mid's builds for a character via IOs/Sets, start getting accolades, doing high-level TFs, and generally doing what my hero/villain was *meant* to do is when the game gets fun for me.

    The journey there? Ehhh... The first 1 or 2 years of gameplay, it was nice... after 4 and a half years or so... Not so much. "End game" is where it's at.

  22. I just did this Strike Force a couple of days ago for the first time, and got the "master" badge for it. It helps to have someone on the team that knows the safest strategy possible... We had a Dark/Invuln Brute that had done the SF many times before, and a team that actually payed attention to directions. I believe that was the key to success there. I know at least 3 of us on the team (including me) had never done the SF before, but because we all played competently, made sure we had the right team makeup to start out with, and followed directions well, there was never an instance in the entire SF where any of the team lost more than a quarter of their health at any given time.

    Taking the two massive waves at the end in the tunnels (rather than with Reichsman) helps a lot as well.... He will not leave his room.

  23. Very cool build... For someone who wants to spend most of their time in Nova form, this is probably one of the best ways to slot for it, considering that soft-capped ranged def will keep most mezzes from hitting. I made a few minor changes to improve the build, if you don't mind...

    First, you can switch out the KB set you had in Quasar for a damage set, and still maintain your softcapped range def, and greatly improve the damage your nuke does. Also, if you're planning on playing most of the time in Nova form, you're not really going to need to put that many slots in Gravity Shield--especially if you're using your Eclipse to full effect. So, I moved those slots to Hasten, so it would have much less of a downtime... I also franken-slotted your Eclipse a bit more to vastly improve the recharge on it, so it only has about 5 to 10 seconds of downtime (your soft-capped ranged def should make up for the time it's down)... Also, I'm unclear why you had 3 of the 6 Kinetic Crashes in Gravitic Emanation at the lowest level (21) possible, so I changed those three to the level the other 3 are at (50). Other than that, everything else remains the same... Nice build!

    Depends on how you look at it... If you have 7 toggles running at once in human form (like I do), it seems counterproductive (at least in my opinion) to stand there for 15 seconds re-activating toggles after you switched to nova form for a few seconds... Every second spent in Nova form would be time my teammates would be without my leadership toggles and damage mitigation auras/holds... If you're building a tri-form build, why would you pick any of those toggles? Therefore, to me, I'm actually with fewer powers/auras with all the pool powers I've chosen on my human-form warshade if I play in Nova form in addition to the powers I already have. It's a completely different playstyle. To me, a "chance for" KB and lower HP isn't a good enough trade-off for greater damage, when on a team like the one in the screenshot above, the time difference in the mob going down when I'm in human form and when I'm in nova form will be...what? 4 seconds? Even less?

    Naaa... You stick with tri-form. I'll stick with human-form in that situation any day of the week.
