I wish Blasters would stop acting like they are the only AT that has to deal with mez..Corruptors, Defenders, Masterminds, Controllers depending on power choices all deal with mez...
They are not giving blasters mez protection.. they havent gotten it in EIGHT YEARS.. they aint gonna get it now..
Play smarter.. learn your enemies.. learn who mezzes and how.. Develop techniques to deal with mezzers.. Mez them FIRST.. Stun em.. Hold em.. knock them down.. Take them down before they take you down.. -
I would prefer it to be global.. but everyone might not.
-
And this is where I have a problem. Because it is set up as a unique I can only slot one of the procs per character. Airhammer my signature hero an NRG/NRG blaster would like at least three of these to shut down all Knockback..
PB's everywhere will rejoice !!!! -
This might make a heck of a concept toon for me.. Thanks for the idea.. unfortunately there is no cold Epic powerset
-
In all honesty I dont even see a need for Illusion Doms.. many things in the set dont benefit from domination and you can always roll a controller anyway..
I do agree that Doms have fallen way behind the curve in terms of available powersets. Personally I would rather they make something entirely NEW for Doms rather than just getting another Controller ported over set.. AGAIN..
And Dark was underwhelming to me.. and that friggin dog is annoying.. Didnt even make one when it came out on live.. -

Im surprised that you arent getting more people advocating the Dominator class. While Permadom is great and requires a high recharge it is not necessary to play a dominator. Also if you have access to IO's permadom is not that difficult to achieve. Also contrary to what someone else posted Dominators can be played at range depending on the Secondary chosen. My Earth/Fire plays almost exclusively at range. I have a few others that are like 85% range 15" melee and I have one that is almost pretty much the opposite.. about 80% melee, 20% ranged. I find that the damage output on most of my Dom builds is quite good especially when you add in the Epic Pools which are actually quite good for Doms across the board ( especially Fire ).
The ability for a Dominator to complete shut down a mob before they attack it gives huge survivability.Id suggest trying a Dominator but be patient.. they tend to struggle early and get much better later. -
Ive made several sappers..
I have found that the most effective have been my E3 Blaster, Elec/Psi Dominator and Elec/Elec Dominator.
I also made a Kin/Elec defender and an Elec/Kin Corruptor. I hated both.. especially the defender.. could sap but not any better than my Blaster and did waaaaaay less damage.. The Corruptor was slightly better... The Dominators outshine them both.
E3 Blaster is very underrated IMO and with the help of Incarnates he is now even better than before and does more damage.
I havent built a melee sapper yet.. maybe one day ill try and put one together.. I have a Elec/SS tank but he really doesnt focus on sapping.. Im sure with some easy tweaking I could make an effective sapper build.. -
Im actually shocked that Dechs hasnt shown up yet. I mean come on its page 2 already and he isnt here yet singing the praises of Dark Armor?!!
Sandstone my 50 Dark/Stone Tank has a pretty good IO build and really havent done much incarnate on him yet other than a tier 2 Cardiac to cut down on end use.
Its one of the best tanks that I have every built. Colored the Dark Armor like sand so the theme goes well with /Stone.. Easy to stack stuns on bosses with Fault and Oppressive Gloom running.. Best heal in the game with the Theft of Essence proc to help out on the endurance.
I will admit it needs some IO help and the secondary( or primary depending on your AT ) that you combine with it can definitely help survival...
But it is not the worst set out there.. -
I have a DP/Time Corruptor @ Level 50 and I found it lots of fun. I dont mind the redraw its not that big of a deal.

Hands down the Hero System and nothing else will come close. I played the very first Champions edition back in 1981/82 and IMO it is hands down the best hero system every created. I could very easily write every powerset in this game and then some. It is the most flexible system ever written for Superhero RPG. Unfortunately you cannot completely mimic all that could be done on PnP in a video game. I played Marvel, DC and VnV and none of them were as good.
I still have probably 60 6-sided dice in my house somewhere in all different colors...
and I STILL have my lucky 3... never failed ever when I needed a roll.. -
Oh how i WISH They would allow me to set TWO things to Auto.

Quote:Problem is now I dont know which motherboard to get. I was all set on an Asus z68 Pro Gen 3 board and I could still get that but I have been told that a Z68 board wont access all the features of an Ivy Bridge board...Question, are you going to be doing any uber-stupid overclocking?
If not, just go with the 3570K
The good thing is that a lot of my costs have come down.. Hard Drive prices seem to be dropping as well as the nvidia vid card prices.
Now if only SSD's would drop drastically.. I can dream cant I ?? -
Well as I have been saving money to build my new PC now Ivy Bridge is available and it looks like I can find some motherboards and CPU's for just a little bit more than Sandy Bridge. Ive been looking at I5 so I figure I will stay in that range. A few questions please..
It seems as if the Pro Gen 3 Asus z68 motherboards will work with Ivy Bridge. My thought is to stay with Z68 as its been out longer, the drivers might be more stable, proven platform yadda yadda yadda...
Now as far as the CPU goes I have seen Microcenter sells the i5 3570K for only 20 bucks more than the i5 2500K. Why wouldnt I spend the 20 bucks more to get Ivy Bridge. Should I spend the 20 bucks or wait until Ivy has been around for a while ???
Since this is replacing my old system which is a Pentium II anything I get will be light years better, I just want to make sure I do things right
Thanks in advance. -
Quote:Sandstone... all dark powers colored to sand.. Dark/Stone level 50.. It looks good..Rolled a Staff/Dark, I'm definitely still going to try /Regen, but I will probably wait and pair it with a future set.
My Staff/Dark (Sandslinger, all the dark powers colored to sand, very original and totally not done before) has been incredibly fun so far. He's at level 15 and right now the ST is good and the AoE is awesome for a lowbie. -
Nice effort... I dont necessarily agree with everything you posted but you applied some thought and that was good to see other than a rant about what isnt uber..

a few easy fixes for blasters..
1) More Damage
2) Balance out the tier 3 blasts having that ridiculously short range..
3) Fix the Snipes.. Nothing was destroyed more with ED than Snipes. You used slot it one accuracy and five damage and hit Build Up and Aim and take out at least one LT.. or put a serious hurting on a boss... now you cant beat an even con LT and you just tickle a boss.. Snipes need to worth the animation time, end cost and dps drop again...
4) Remove all crashes from Nukes. I was originally against this because the concept made sense but at the end game with everyone getting Incarnates and doing sweet damage and hitting more targets and recharging faster with no end crash on Judgement powers, it makes the Blaster Nuke look very outdated... This should be addressed...
4) Fix the Build up Aim situation where its available to all blasters regardless of build choices.. This is especially the case if you pick Devices as a secondary which is very unfair IMO....
Kheldians just got a huge buff and are actually quite good now.. and Dark Armor needs no help at all.. -
i hope they got rid of that stupid breakdancing attack or at least got an alternate animation.
-
Buff everything.. everything needs help...

here is my build on live
I didnt focus on defense... Held stunned mobs arent hurting me..
The only thing I might change is the immobilize.. I might slot it different.. but i figured loadin it up with Procs and spamming it was the way to go.

I found Soul Drain to be useless because I am not in melee a lot to take advantage of it and I dont have enough personal attacks to make the damage boost worth while.
I am almost perma pa.. Once I slot my Agility Alpha I should be perma PA easily...
Easily one of the best controllers I have ever made.. -
Welcome to the Party...
Pets
Phantom Army (2-4 seconds off perma )
Phantasm
Dark Servant
Spectral Terror
Nice debuffs
Tar Patch, Howling Twilight and Twilight Grasp
Nice buffs, defense heals and end recovery
Twilight Grasp, Fade, Soul Absorption....
I went with Ghost Widow and picked up Dark Embrace and Dark Obliteration..
So ive got perma fade, ShadowFall and Dark Embrace...
I cant even tell you how ridiculous this toon is make one yourself and enjoy it !!
( it wasnt a cheap build by the way ) -
Build it yourself !!!!!
Seriously I was wigged out about it at first but the guys on here are very helpful and there are great sites like Toms Hardware and Anandtech.com. Also New Egg has a pretty good how to build your own PC videos.
You will save some money, get exactly what you want, and you will know YOUR pc..
I am in the process of buying parts to build my own PC and at first it seemed intimidating but I have done things on my home PC like replace a bad HD, a bad Video card and put in new Ram, and I am a pretty intelligent intuitive guy.
Dont do Alienware.. The system I am building will be much less than what they offered AND will be better..
