Quote:This. You have to finish the arc, including talking to Imperious. And in case you don't have too many, check if you've still got more missions from Montague on the Midnighters arc. That was the culprit for some of my friends. Once they finished that arc all the way to the end (talking to Imperious, I believe) Ramiel would start talking to them.

I've been having having strange issues myself with my 9800GT: After playing CoH or Mass Effect 2, things get slow as hell, to the point that even restarting the PC can only be done manually. I suspected the latest driver update also, but after reading this thread I'm quite sure of it.

Quote:This is all good, but I would have the computer off while doing all this. Then turn it on once the modem and router are ready. When you plug the modem back in wait until the connected light comes on; this varies from modem to modem but there should be a power light, a data light and a connection light. Sometimes it may take a few minutes to sync up.
When all the lights on the modem are on then turn on the router. Once it's lights all come on, which should only take a few seconds, see if you have internet. If not, reboot your computer and see if that solves your issue. -
This happened to me the first time I tried it; since then it works OK.
I don't understand why we still have to wait 30 seconds, though. I guess it's for PVP, so you can't just disappear in the middle of a fight, but it really makes no sense in PVE and it's a serious drag. -
Seen it happen twice now (not to me, but to others) -- level 50, mission list not even close to full, but Ramiel tells them to "take care of other business" or something like that before he'll give them anything.
Is there a requirement I'm forgetting, or is this a bug?
EDIT: OK, it appears that you must finish the Midnighters/Cimerora arc, including talking to Imperious after the Latin student. Otherwise, never mind. -
Quote:I'd agree normally, but he's stated he plays at min settings and wants to save his cash for a new system. It sounds like he just wants to be able to play again. Given that, I'd say he could get away with spending 30 bucks even--at newegg, not Best Buy.The $50 market is basically full of junk. There's pretty much nothing in there that is going to be that much more powerful than an integrated chipset.
Forefinger: I'm going to be honest. What you should be looking for is to spend a bit more money than $50.
In fact, Forefinger, you can get the same card you picked from several manufacturers for $30-35 from Newegg. -
Well, you can always put your new card in the next computer you buy. Aside from that, it depends on what you mean by "cheap" and "runs CoX well." There's a 9800GT at newegg for $69.99 ($49.99 after mail-in rebate), which is about as cheap as you can go and still enable ultra mode (but not at max settings).

EDIT: Of course, you need to determine what kind of slot you have for the graphics card: PCI-E, AGP, or just plain PCI. The card I suggested is PCI-E, but if you have an AGP slot it's no good to you. -
To answer your question, yes a 9800GT will handle this game pretty well, although you may need to tweak ultra settings to get a decent framerate.
-
Are you sure your card is fried? I'm not sure what "My window disabled those two cards because they have problems" means, but if your monitor is still plugged into the card and you can see stuff, you might be having some other kind of problem. Have you tried reinstalling drivers?

I have yet to encounter a cordless mouse that doesn't do this from time to time. This is why I have 2 of them in my attic and a regular old corded optical on my desk.
Just my experience, though. -
Well, now that the option is listed, I have hope that it will actually work at some time in the future. Still, we should bug it (and the devs) to make sure.
-
Not sure about the missing images, but the rest of those sound like poor internet connection issues to me. It's true the servers have been taking a beating...are you on Freedom or Virtue?
-
Any error message? Does the game just disappear, or does it hang? Do you have to kill the process?

Quote:I noticed this, but actually you CAN alt-tab to another program, you just can't see the little menu thingy that shows you which programs you are switching to. In other words, if you have, say, your browser and Skype running, and you alt-tab once, it'll switch to whichever one was in focus last, but there' no visual indication that it's going to happen.2. While playing CoH, I cannot alt+tab to switch to another window.
Also, I noticed little, ghostly, thin white lines running across hallways in indoor missions, at about waist height. -

Quote:50s get them just as much as anyone else, regardless of who they're "for". Besides, they drop so much I can't even see buying them. You do know that 100k is only "regular IO range" for 50ish, right? I'm assuming the temp powers are more for lowbies than for 50s. Why would you want to charge them so much?
Or how about just doubling our recipe-holding capacity to make up for all the trash we're getting? I'd be OK with that. -
Didn't read the thread, but just wanted to put myself squarely in the "WTF is with all these temp power drops" camp. I don't want them, they drop too much. There is no godly reason I should be getting multiple St. Louis Slammers, Gabriel's Hammers, Revolvers, etc. every darn day. It's just a pain, and deleting them is also a pain.
EDIT: At the very least, up their fixed price to 100,000 inf or so, so they're on par with a regular IO recipe. -
They already did this, which I liked, and then changed it back, which I didn't like. An option to auto-accept would be great.
-
I think the drop rate for temp power recipes shot waay up with i17. I can see how that seemed a nice thing to do, but nowadays I drop so many worthless temp power recipes that it's quite irritating. It seems silly to me to look in my recipes after a few missions to see 2 Gabrial's Hammers, 2 St. Louis Slammers, a Plasmatic Taser, a Revolver, etc., only to delete them, because there are so many flooding the market they're useless to sell. And then, an hour later, there they all are again. It's too much, and it's filling up the recipes too quickly.
I think the rate should be scaled down again. Anyone else want to agree/disagree? -
-
Just wanted to pipe up and say I've been wanting this for years, and I am very, very happy about it.
And Wal Mart ARE villains. -
Everyone I know was pleased when it was changed to auto-accept. I never once heard anyone complain about it. IMHO, the fewer "OK" buttons I have to click in this game the better.
An option in the settings for this would be grand. -

This worked! Many thanks.

Yup, just "Connecting.. #3" now. Tried a few times so far. Bleh.
Also on Roadrunner in Buffalo NY.
