IIRC, the GX2 is basically two GPUs on one card? The 9800GT will be slower than what you had, but more than enough to handle CoH. The 9800GT is a legendary card, and can still hold it's own, even today, years after it was released.

I just want to buy something to hold me over the weekend. I can't stand not having video card for long period of time. lol
I'll buy that from Best buy tomorrow. I need to figure out if I want to buy another GX2 or not. Yes, GX2 is two cards.
What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.
They also had GTS 250s when I wandered though a Best Buy Saturday. The GTS 250 is essentially a 9800GTX+ which is a bit more powerful than a 9800GT (128 vs 112 streaming processors, the GTS 250 is also clocked faster than a 9800GT).
They also had the 768MB GTX 460 which is a whole lot faster than either the 9800GT or the GTS 250 (the GTS 250 is roughly 20% faster than a 9800GT, the 768MB GTX 460 is roughly 85% faster). Needless to say it's a lot more expensive as well.

Are you sure your card is fried? I'm not sure what "My window disabled those two cards because they have problems" means, but if your monitor is still plugged into the card and you can see stuff, you might be having some other kind of problem. Have you tried reinstalling drivers?

I think with the price of cards nowdays liquid cooling should of become a standard as cards are becoming hotter and hotter a heatsink and fan simply isn't enough for a gamer.

I then bought an air canister yesterday thinking that my graphic cards aren't cooling down properly due to "dust". Oh my, is my computer dirty!!! Oh my, did problem get worse!!! I logged in CoV twice and my computer completely crashed. Starting from that point, every time I turn on my computer, it is only in "Safe Mode" and even that I still get my monitor "shut down" automatically every once a while. I checked Device Manager and Window says there's problem in both graphic cards.
My friend did a Driver restore because I updated driver two weeks ago. Problem still exists. My friend is pretty convinced that the cards are fried somehow but that's why I am asking if NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT is decent enough because we are going to swap the cards tonight and test to see if it is the graphic card problem.
I am pissed because I bought Alien computer two years ago. It was like over $3200.

98% of all video cards on the market are PCI Express x 16. PCIe Version 2.0 is allows for twice the bandwidth but is totally backwards compatible. A V2.0 card will work in a V1.0 slot and a V1.0 card will work in a V2.0 slot.
All nVidia 9xxx, 2xx and 4xx series are PCIe V2.0. For AMD/ATI cards, it's the HD 3xxx and later series that are V2.0.
The increased bandwidth only seems to matter if the card is of a dual GPU variety like your old 9800GX2 (or GTX 295, HD 5970, etc) since it's essentially two cards in a single slot.

To answer your question, yes a 9800GT will handle this game pretty well, although you may need to tweak ultra settings to get a decent framerate.

I had a card burn out back in 08 and replaced it with a 9800GT and it's still going strong. It can do Ultra Mode at mid to high settings but loading times are longer. I always play on the lowest settings.

I'm still using that card to this day. I can max out the old highest graphics settings with no problem, but have to leave Ultra Mode settings on their lowest.
Of course I could get a card that could easily run Ultra mode if I stop buying PS3 and PC games......

I have a GTX 460 and can vouch for it, if you want something not too expensive that can handle full ultramode.

Well, looks like my GeForce® 9800 GX2 is fried somehow. My window disabled those two cards because they have problems. I know like nothing about computer. I got it as a gift.
The only way for me to come here and type is by using Safe Mode.
I need to test my theory and Best Buy in my area doesn't carry GX2. I found GeForce 9800 GT. Is this a decent one? It's not nearly as expensive as GX2 that's for sure but is it decent enough?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Weekend is coming and I need to buy something until I bought another GX2 or another gaming computer.
