Hey all- hope I got the right area for the question but here it is anyway.
Just got a new vid card, power supply and now a 32' display. sad part about this is I try to run COX and all I get is a black screen with a blue floaty box saying 'Unsupported'. I'm currently set at 1280x800.
At that point I can't do anything but reset my system. Can't see anything to STOP CoX and get back to desk top. I have tried playing with the Display settings all morning but so far nothing has fallen into the SUPPORTED range. So upon comes the questions...
What are the MAX resolution settings for the Video of the game?
Is there a way to change the CoX settings with out getting into the game first?
Thanks for the help!

Hey FX...I might be a little late to the party but I just got a Black Widow by Thermaltake. Thing is modular so it comes with plug in octopi for what ever connections you might need. I paid a little over $100 for it but this things has jingle bells.

Well as an update- got the GTX560 but the monster needs like 6 molex power connected to it so I had to get a new power supply as well...tired of messing around so I got a Black Widow. Yeah...pay $300+ total to play a game...I'm crazy- but it works.

Quick Update for the Mimester here...
Got the brand new vid card I ordered...it's a Ev3a GTX560 not top line but hey I'm poor...the crashing stopped. Just finished a 6 hour play test at Max settings and it didn't even studded.
Just keep in mind if you want to go for that fix - the card itself is about $200...and your power supply better have (2) 6 pin PCI ex plugs (or 4 molex lines) open or you will need to get a new power supply to feed the beast. I added a nice Black Widow power supply...all I need is some neon flashers and some fuzzy dice and I'm all pimped out.
Good Luck All! -
Thanks FX! I got a GTX560 on the way...should have it here Thursday. I'll swap and post if there are any changes.

Hi all...just wanted to add some testing info. I already sent the logs in 6 or 7 PM's...anyway...
Tried playing with vid card (geforce 9800GT) at Lowest, Mid range and Highest settings.
Lowest Settings I was able to get into: Close Screen, enter mission and fire one shot. (about 4min time with transition screens.
Mid Settings I was able to fly around a bit and get a mission half done (about 10-15min of activity)
Uber Leet Vid Settings I was able to complete a mission (about 40-45min) the first run but then crashed right after Log in entry ( >4min NO ACTIVITY)
Just ordered a new vid card and will re-post (re-send) new Logs when I get it (If it crashes still)
Hey- Sore point here...any retro reimbursement on the non-playable time or are we kind of boned here? I only brought this up because I spent $ to reopen my VIP account...then $ on Rogue...and now $$$ on a Vid Card where my old one works fine on everything else. Just Putting it out there...
*edited addition*
Just rolled back drivers to check. Nvidia 9800GT 6.14.12.6099 as well as 6.14.12.7533 both have the same Crash-o-lisiousness in all three Vid card levels in game. -
Might there be anything in that list that you would suggest and be under $200USD? I have a 9800GT, which is on the approved list, and it crashes like a drunk redneck on performance settings in game. I can't tell if it's the card or this other crashing issue everyone is having.

Quote:Jibikao! How did you solve the problem??? I have a "new" 9800GT and it works fine with all the other games I have but with CoH (which I just came back to since 2004) it crashes like a drunk redneck. Hard Core lock up- even dropped the settings to performance and it still crashes my system. I know it's not the card and everything it updated. (Drivers & CoH) anyone have a solution feel free to PM me.Well, to be honest, I am not 100% sure. The problem just got worse and worse. It started 2 days ago when I downloaded the new CoH patch. I logged into the game and my monitor would get shut off automatically showing "No Signal". I thought maybe one of the plus is loose or something. Then I restarted computer again and my computer completely locks up (which has happened a few times before). Then I restarted it again and my monitor would get shut down and the funny thing is I was on Team Speak with a friend and I could still chat with him. The computer isn't shut down completely. It just would show any "graphic".
I then bought an air canister yesterday thinking that my graphic cards aren't cooling down properly due to "dust". Oh my, is my computer dirty!!! Oh my, did problem get worse!!! I logged in CoV twice and my computer completely crashed. Starting from that point, every time I turn on my computer, it is only in "Safe Mode" and even that I still get my monitor "shut down" automatically every once a while. I checked Device Manager and Window says there's problem in both graphic cards.
My friend did a Driver restore because I updated driver two weeks ago. Problem still exists. My friend is pretty convinced that the cards are fried somehow but that's why I am asking if NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT is decent enough because we are going to swap the cards tonight and test to see if it is the graphic card problem.
I am pissed because I bought Alien computer two years ago. It was like over $3200.
thanks-
