I was thinking of making an arctic fireman (Ice/Axe) cause I love Ice as a primary. However, I can't find much info on Axe. Does anyone have some advice re" Axe? What are the must haves and the don't takes?

I have never made a dark tank before and have been toying with the idea. The only way I see it working well so far is to pair it with dark melee.
What are others' thoughts?
I have the following build in mind. It provides 33.35% S/L defense and 71/5 S/L resistance but it requires a lot of toggles.

As you can see though, while SS/SD/MU may be a tad bit better than ELEC/SD/MU, I find SS to be incredibly boring and hate the rage crash - that is just me. So don't forget to add into the equation which combo you will actually enjoy playing and it will be all good.
Plus, the build also depends on the mobs you are fighting.... For example, I have been farming as a Fire/Psi/Soul dom with a friend that is a SS/Fire/Mu Brute. We run his AE mishes which have mobs that are all fire based. Since he is uber resistant to fire we clear that fast and without probs with max spawns. I just have to make sure he has most agrro or the fire will tear up my Dom (I have mostly lethal and smashing resistance - not fire). So you can see a SS/SD/Mu on this farm would suck in comparison to the SS/Fire/Mu cause of the different fire resistances.
Thus, IMO, build your brute taking into account what mobs you will fight, what build you will enjoy playing, and the IOs that you can use to adjust the second build for different situations. -
I am pulling my ss/wp brute out of retirement... it is like 2+ years old. He def needs a respec and am looking for a few good ss/wp builds to inspire me. Any good builds would be greatly appreciated (esp a def vs a res build or a IO regen build)

I like the changes to DOM - even to my fire/psi. It's single target attacks hit like a truck now and the AOE cone is nice. Add in the Soul Matery Patron for dmg buffs and its great. Only downside of course is that PSW is almost not worth taking now.

yesterday I teamed with a fire/mental/ice blaster that somehow managed to basically tank 54 bosses. I played with some builds in mids to see how one could up their def alot and still dont see how he did it it so well. Is there some build that is out there that does this well? All I know is that he only took fire blast, fire ball, aim and blaze from primary, many mental powers and the ice APP. It was the most I had been impressed with a blaster build in 4 years!

I know part of the problem has been some lazy tanks that just run into a group and start fighting without taunting or doing anything to help get mobs that ran off after someone else.

I got my MA/Shield to 38 and can now use focused chi, Dragon's tail and then shield charge. It does some good dmg... However, I tend to pull aggro off tanks a lot - I tried backing off for a while and then doing the combo but I would still pull a lot of aggro. Could the taunt aura in Against All Odds be off some?

Thanks for the info - I was thinking of this build... it soft caps def and gives some resistance.... What do ya'll think?

Gonna roll an Ice/SS - any watchouts or advice? It will be my first Ice and SS toon so any advice from folks on this would be great. Ie, anything to avoid or focus on as I go up to 50?

I have never needed grant cover - it may be that I have just adjusted my play style without it but I havent felt it was worth it. My main issues were I needed some more resistance so that when I did get hit I didn't lose half health and shatter really helped with DPS.... I can't remember why I skipped shatter for so long - but there was a reason at the time.

ok 2 respecs later and about 50 million more I think I have finally set on a build. This build finally feels SUPER!!!!
Ranged and AOE are a lil soft but I can live with it.

Ahh good... I was worried that the rage crash woulnd't synergize well with a def based primary like ice. 10 sec def reduction I can live with.

The description for rage states that "when your Rage subsides that you are left with reduced Defense..."
How much reduced defense is there? -
Flurry is a filler.... I also have alot of attacks cause I didnt know what else to replace some of them with. I could swap some out and take the medicine pool but it feels so unscrapperly to take aid self.

I respecced tonight and now get to soft cap for melee defense and 43%AOE. I took combat jumping and manuevers instead of tough and weave. I also now have +24.5% recovery and the + recovery uniques. It makes a big difference but I am still about down to 1/4 end after a group of mobs when I solo... though those mobs are lvl 52 bosses so it takes more swings to kill them. I am going to team tomorrow on it and see how it feels. My build is below.

I need to respec my Shield/War Mace toon - he is a tad squishy and has end probs. Can folks help me with some builds that soft-caps def and helps with end? I get close but still have probs.

I dusted off a 3 year old dar/dark cor and updatd its enhancements... and dark blast still sucks. It has been years since I looked at dark blast. Has something happened that I missed or is there some way to make dark blast not suck?
