  1. PK Squadron on Guardian used to behave exactly like what I'm hearing about Goon Squad. Though I have heard it said that they mostly obeyed the directives of their masters: Ownage.

    D/A too dark

Cimerora on fire is just stupid difficult to see. That is all.

Where F is the potential fun you'll have, P1 is the probability of that fun happening, C is the consequences from that action, and P2 is the probability that you'll have to endure those consequences. If A > 0, the act occurs, and if A < 0 or A = 0, the act does not occur. This is a not-so-basic mechanism for weighing deviant behavior in individuals. Unfortunately I read the equation a long time ago, so I have a strong feeling I have butchered it from the thesis I originally read it in.

Though if I just need a name change, I suppose I could go with it. It'll be hard to match the genius of the exploding fish military captain.
If you are that certain that your fun will outweigh other people's pain and anger, and that your fun (short-lived as it will be), KNOWING that it is offensive and it will be acted upon is your over-riding concern, then by all means. Grief us. Thank you for making it clear that your fun is the only important issue here. Why even ask except to inflame people?
  4. I wouldn't use any of those names for free. GL though.

    Low

Drops are much lower, IMO. But then, how could you TELL with the glut of Temp Powers dropping.

I think that the Temp Powers are the root problem. Half of the drops you SHOULD be getting are these next to worthless Temps. Cuts the drop rate for everything else by half.

    New Dark Astoria

There appears to be some "Pitch Black" influence going on, imho.

Indeed. In fact the first 4 letters that entered my brain after he claimed to have sold it were LI_R but I decided that shenanigans was less provocative.

ItÂ’s just that discussions like this and my own Vulcan-esque mind bring up questions after the fact. As I keep telling the wife, I know too much science type stuff. Sometimes stuff pops out at me while I watch things, but usually not enough so that I cannot suspend my disbelief. I blame Discovery, Science Channel and Mythbusters. And History Channel, and NatGeo channel, and all those other fact-based channels. This time.
Just an umbrella "plea". Not directed at anyone.
  9. Isn't it awesome, how we get all these cool new "features" every Issue?

Plus Dual Pistols, Demon Summoning*, Kinetic Melee and Electric Control powersets and the costumes that came with GR.

Keep in mind that all of those things bought separately would cost way more than $15 in points.

*Would require masterminds access. Void where prohibited. Do not operate heavy machinery while on Demon Summoning.
Cool. Good to have a solid answer for DumpleBerry. I have to agree with the overall feeling of not having a clue what is right or wrong in these cases, though.

  12. That also give a 30-day subscription, right? I'm afraid that after the 30 days, if they don't sub, they'll lose everything that any other non-"vested" Premium does not get.

Absolutely. I always groan a little to myself whenever people refuse to just enjoy something without tearing it apart.

    It's entertainment, folks.
  14. This is the only reason I bought the Science pack. I know many people (myself included) who have had concepts for characters that include them growing up.

We have wanted it all along and some of us bought it. Now, we can all have it for points. My only gripe is that it took so durned long.

Nice potential. Main plot hooks identified. Characters more than cardboard. TV special effects above average. I remain optimistic.

The extra child question bugged me, too.
the scale and support of the Tera Nova project seemed... off to me. Where was the heavy construction equipment, the armies of engineers and construction workers, just the sense of scale that would be pouring through a real gate/escape in that scenario. And you know the gov't would have had a nice healthy presence rather than a single man running things. I set these questions aside for now, but they all occurred to me while watching.
    I agree with these observations.

No, no. hehe That is referring to others, earlier who were lamenting it. And like I said, EVERYTHING is a rehash from SOMEwhere.

Think about it: Nathaniel Taylor could easily be revealed as a more hardline Emperor Cole like figure as time goes on. Sure he seems completely dedicated to his happy-happy-joy-joy "vision" of making Terra Nova succeed. But when push comes to shove he may become more dictatorial and unyielding with his people, thus showing a darker side. The Sixers already exist as a de-facto Resistance, and while they seem like the "bad guys" at this point they may well turn out to be the actual "good guys" in the overall story. And do I have to mention the obvious that the Terra Nova setting represents Praetoria while the old 2149 Earth represents "primal" Earth?

But regardless of that speculation I did find it rather weird that we still don't really know anything about the state of the Earth in 2149 other than they have population control laws and that it's hard to breath without a mask. It seems like the "mystery" behind Terra Nova involves what's going on back in 2149 as much as what's going on between the main settlers and the Sixers.
I could TOTALLY see that happening. But that would be another re-hashed plot device, wouldn't it.

Not to mention that either way, it is meaningless. People (myself included, sometimes) get so ramped up that it's like "Charlie stole the handle, and the train, it won't stop goin'. No way to slow down'.
  19. The only thing about future base content that I KNOW for SURE, deep in my heart, is that if it ever does happen it will either be:
    a. A bone or
    b. Something that some players will swoon over and others will rage about Some, BOTH.

I have resigned myself to never being able to get excited about base building, ever again.
  20. At first, I thought it was a cross-post.

Edit: I found this out when my friend who has bought all the boxes came back yesterday and has both ATs locked out.

Happens ALL the time. (Not at McDonald's, maybe)
