It sounds like you have actual data; mind sharing it? This kind of claim is frequently made, and is almost without exception a result of perception bias, streaks of luck, or simple misunderstanding of probability, and most posters will respond accordingly.
Can't say I've noticed a difference, however I don't keep spreadsheets. Just personal observation.

Could this be because the Devs want peeps to purchase Windfall? I get quality drops when the power is activated, when its not mostly temp powers. :/

It's anecdotal but my wife and I have occasionally run a saved mission for drops/goofing around over the last couple of years and noticed a definite dip in not only quantity but quality of drops following one of the updates late last year, and while not scientific she kept a rare loot ledger of sorts dating back a few seasons tracking what was earned after running this generous assignment from harvey maylor.
Ok in ten missions I got :12 recpies (two of them temp powers one piston boots (joy)), 4 so's 23 comon salvage, 1 rare salvage, 7 uncomon salavage. Just a week ago i had a 40% higher drop rate.
I defeated everything in every mission solo at plus one times four.
I have started keeping track of drops when freedom went live when I first noticed a drop rate then.

I tend to agree now I don't track things like salvage drops or recipes but I do have a spread sheet I use to keep track of my incarnates. When we first got access to BAF and LAM it was not uncommon to get between 5-7 threads on a run .. Now its 2-3.
I have also noticed a decilne in the number of Purple drops.. I have several characters worth billions mainly from sellling off unwanted or unneeded purple recipes back when we all scrambled from TF to TF after shards, components and then NoTWs. I think I have managed one purple drop on all of my 47 and up level characters in the past two months. Operative Tessa, my badger, had so many of them while she was doing TFs to open and slot Alpha she was actually emailing influence to other characters because she wasn't able to carry any more.
Come to think of it, and I have no data on this, but recipe drops seem to be down as well .. at least in the incarnate trials. I tend to sell and craft between trials when I can abd I have characters that haven't sold off much besides the useless temp powers the OP discussed recently. Now those characters don't do much else these days besides the trials and perhaps the drop rate for other things lowered do to thread and merit drops but then (see first paragraph) thread rates are way down as well so overall everything is dropping less. Of course its hard to judge from Incarnate trials because it appears the slow or stop almost everythig since we gain threads and merits... I have characters that literally live in the Vanguard base in the RWZ these days so anytime they log on they have accumulated time where "supposedly" they get vanguard merits for completing ANY missin(???) .. well trials don't seem to count as missions becuase I never get a thing from them as far as vanguard merits are concerned. Go out and run one of the SSA arcs and yeah I get them but not a single V-merit in a trial.

Drop rates ARE lower, except for these silly temp powers...just sell them at Ghost Falcon or another NPC "store" contact for a little extra influence. Funny how the arrival of these "card packs" at the cash store and this (supposedly) lower drop rate coincided, weird isn't it ?
@Viking Queen.
Drops are much lower, IMO. But then, how could you TELL with the glut of Temp Powers dropping.
I think that the Temp Powers are the root problem. Half of the drops you SHOULD be getting are these next to worthless Temps. Cuts the drop rate for everything else by half.

Now I have not personally noticed a decline in rare/uncommon recipe drops, as I have bad luck anyway, but I did receive two purple drops in the last two weeks (worthless but still purple).
The only problem I have is with the Windfall Temp power, after a mission run I am crammed with either rocket packs/hand grenades or if the game shows a little mercy some random uncommon recipe that sells for more at a vendor than the market.
Honestly, and I have said this often to others, there should be a 50% increase of everything minus the temp powers especially if I am paying for this boost. Of course who doesn't like the 50% increased chance of getting a rocket pack when your character has fly?

I did the same thing again. 10 missions set on the same settings as last week. tracked every little drop i got with out windfall. To my "surprize" the drop rate is still 40% lower then what it was two weeks ago. I feel that I shouldnt have to "pay' to get the windfall power just so I can have drops that I can vender. I still in two weeks have not gotten a very rare. Yes it is a very rare ... just think of though how much i play though.

Confirmation bias may be at work with me too, since I haven't ever tracked drop rates before or after any updates. But it sure as heck seems much lower to me.
Difference is that I ALSO see no real increase when using that windfall power. It appears to be useless.
But yeah - the Devs introduce RMT enhancements that are BETTER than purple drops, and mysteriously the purple drop rate goes into the crapper at right about the same time. It's AMAZING!
If the devs want to milk the cash cow like this, it might be nice if the drop rate for VIP players remained the same but was lower for FtP or Premiums.

I as well have seen a real drop in the loot system. It seems that all I get anymore are temp powers or commons. I really would like to get something (anything) really thats somewhat nice. I play everyday! I cant even tell you how long its been since i got any drops that they have offered up in the store like the luck of the gamblers and such. I think Zubenelgenubi ,ight be on to something
the drop rates really need to increase. I was told by support to come to the forums and talk about it. So I am. I see that over 300 people have seen this thread yet many don't leave a response. I know that I am not the only one that feels that the drop rate for everything but temp powers has been lowererd just a little too much. Post here! Let the Dev's and others know that really we want to be able to afford to slot our toons with out real money transactions and without having to weeks of farming and selling temp powers that drop. Make the game "afforable" for us the player base!

Ran Windfall durin' a UGT and only noticed an increase in Rare salvage drops, and o'course the increased influence. Nothin' else to note. Only received two recipe drops durin' the entire Trial; one was a common Invention recipe and the other was a Temp Power: Revolver.
I'm not really bothered by it as I don't run anythin' for drops. Sure, a Enhancement Catalyst would've been nice, but I'll get'em eventually.

Also, I know I've viewed this thread at least 10x to see differing responses, subtract that from your 300
But in all seriousness, the devs will not do anything unless there is an overwhelming response to your thread and that will not happen with it tucked away on Champ's boards...IMO anyway

I've never had much luck with drops. In my entire time of playing I've had less than a dozen Purple Recipes. That's just sad.
I have noticed an increase in Temp Power drops...which is quite annoying, and a decrease in anything of value. It bugs me that I get so many of these now. They're not even worth selling.
This is all a bit annoying but I think the bigger problem is the status of Salvage drops. If anyone has been on the market lately, they've noticed a price change in Rare Salvage. For the longest time, these Rares went for about 1.5 million infl and stayed there. Now they're going to 2.5-3million, that's double they're "normal" value.
Not such a big deal when you look at it at first, but some of these pieces are not only becoming more expensive to purchase, but they're becoming hard to come by, causing some of these to even sell for over 10mil. Granted, players are basically price gouging, but this would not be possible if the supply of these Rares wasn't as bad as it's been. Several pieces number fewer than 150. Magical Conspiracy was as low as 10. TEN total! There is no way that after years of a stable market with supply and demand normalizing to a price of 1.5mil can it suddenly double artificially. Obviously, the demand remains, and the supply has plummeted.
With the supply of Rare Salvage at a low, players will resort to farming AE tickets, plain and simple. And those "mega-farmers" will have all the control of the market. Rare salvage will become increasingly more rare on the market, and the farmers will supply as needed, asking ridiculous prices for the pieces commonly needed for the better recipe's.
Of course this will, in turn, drive up the price of recipe's as well.
Anywho, this can all be prevented with a little tweak to the drop rate. Increase the Rare Salvage drop rate. And help us out a little with these stupid Temp Powers and give us something worthwhile. Maybe a decent increase on those Purples from AV's or something. Besides, to keep people intersted in content you need to make it worth their while. A high chance for a Purple Drop for the AV on a TF would help draw people back to playing more of this game than has been done as of late.

Since I ahve started playing again I have noticed that temp power drops seem to be more prevalent than any recipe drops. Non-incarnate trials, I can count the number of shards that have dropped across all my toons from several LGTF's, ITF's, Khan's, and now two STF's.
I just heard about the "converters" coming out... a way to change a crap recipe into maybe a good one... for a cost.
If the drop rate was lowered to increase purchases of converters then I will be disappointed.
YMMV---IMO

Its seems to me that the drop rate on everything but temp powers has been lowered once again. I have looked at the math over and over. The numbers dont lie. It kinda has me confused. Why would they lower them yet again?
