  1. Farm-haters, LOL ! ....actually, I wanted to say more, but, it wouldn't really matter now. "Hulk Smash Nay-Sayers!" doesn't have the right ring to it.
  2. Friends, figure it out: if NCSoft wanted your money, they would keep the lights on. Since their attitude seems to be no amount of money is worth keeping my business, then I for one am happy to take my money elsewhere.

I have had a paid sub to CoH for 7 years now, and would have actually been willing to pay more if it means CoH stayed around. City of Heroes was the premier super-hero game platform, far superior to C.O. and DCUO, and their smart business moves placed them instead as one out of a thousand generic fantasy-type games...."green elf needs food.....badly....." so much for innovation. Obviously NCSoft does not care about the public relations debacle this is turning into for them. Good thing they have more money than they know how to spend, one less customer will make no difference to such a successful global corporation.

    Guild War 2

what you say is all fine well and good, but none of it gives me any reason to think that NCSoft has learned any lessons, and I have every reason to think it is only a matter of time before they kill off Guild Wars as well. If you would like to invest your time and hard-earned money there, it is your decision. My decision is clear: NCSoft has a proven track record of killing off profitable games for their own (unexplained) ends, and I have no more money to give them. End of story.
  4. Friends, it has been a great run here on Champion Server, and before the end a quick shout-out to those who have been there for me in the game.

SG mates Photometeric, Mistress Shanna, Marut and all of them at The Earthguard. I have found you all to be very accepting of myself and my big mouth, and great players as well, and no drama involved. I was able to use my vast experience gaming to good effect for them, and hopefully my involvement made their events and TF's run smoother. Either way, they always seemed to accept me as I am, and I will always be grateful for it. Thanks Earthguard !

...and lets not forget my former SG Protectors of Neverland. My association with Budweiser, Sgt.Klaw and Athena Shadow will always be one of the high points for me. Zone events, PVP, task forces, there seemed to be no in-game event was off limits or too challenging for them to succeed at, and I will always be proud to have been trusted as a fellow High Council there. Bud taught me to be not afraid to trust other players, and that lesson I take with me to other games I might become involved with.

Finally, to all the members of the assorted in-game channels I was trusted to help manage and moderate, thank you for your patience with my tirades against The Elites and Cool Kids (who-ever they were) in said channels. Rest assured my goal was always to create an enviroment where peers could exchange ideas and opinions freely, where all might have equal access. As a pro musician, I know full well the advantages of networking with peers towards a common cause... and a little bit about dealing with possibly excentric but talented individuals. In any event, it was an honor to help those who would create a larger community of united players.

Hopefully I have helped teach some lessons that players will take to other games, lessons about trust, peer networking, and teamwork. I know the community here has taught myself very valuable lessons in these areas and in future will take them to another game. Thank you all, and good luck to you where-ever you might land next. CHAMPION SERVER FOR LIFE !
  5. Perhaps the point of her post was to offer a way for the community to continue to network with the friends/members beyond whatever happens to CoH in future...and maybe a way to keep in touch with her if that's what you wanted to do. It did require a little reading between the lines.
  6. so....no Dark or Elec. holds.....why is that again ? as a true non-pvp'er, I have no idea why that would be.
  7. ummmmm.....ahhhh............hmmmmm......WELCOME BACK POPPA !
  8. ok, looks like I will be the one to break the ice....

Today on Exalted, I invited a few folks to a couple of global channels, I ran a Tips mission team for a Hero Merit. My tank there is now level 45, thanks all.
  9. Can you make for me a cool forum signature banner to attach on my posts ? all the coolest kids have them, and I just want to fit in....oh, and enjoy the Kool-Aid while its available.
  10. The server is very lucky to enjoy the high level of support from these veteran experienced players, so here, have some Kool-Aid....oh wait.
  11. Street Justice/Invul.Brute to lvl 42.
    Claws/Ninjitsu Stalker to lvl 40.
    Dark/Dark Controller to lvl 25.
however, my main focus was influence this time, total take:5.3 Billion.
  12. What we're going to do is, use global channels to look for teams, and do a little social-networking as well. The folks that want to make the server work will stick around, and the ones who do not care will not choose to be involved in any event. Thinking we can control the direction the server takes is a fools errand. The best we can do is control our own actions, and hope we find like-minded players to hang out with.

    Low

[QUOTE=DreadShinobi;4149343]I've gotten 11 purple IOs, 2 respec recipies and 5 catalysts since i22 went live.

the new issue went live less than a week ago, so what you are saying is, you are averaging 2 purple drops a day. Personally, I find that rather hard to believe.

    Low

Drop rates ARE lower, except for these silly temp powers...just sell them at Ghost Falcon or another NPC "store" contact for a little extra influence. Funny how the arrival of these "card packs" at the cash store and this (supposedly) lower drop rate coincided, weird isn't it ?
  15. You could simply kick all the members that were not your own characters, and keep the base as super secret secure storage for yourself. If you were the only member, no one could raid your items. Just a thought.
  16. Global Name: @Viking Queen
    SG/VG: the Earthguard.
SG or VG: SG for sure, VG maybe (time permitting).
    Availability: June 23, June 24.
Base description: Fully functional mixed tech/arcane, formerly raid-ready bases.
  17. I have no intention of hiding behind the walls of the gated community of elitist VIP players....just imagine what could happen if you stay here: old subs and new curious casual players take a chance, check out the server, and (hold on to your seats now folks) interact in a positive manner with old veteran players, enjoy the experience, and become paying (fully functional) new participants in the Champion community; you just might even meet a few new friends in the process. I wouldn't hit the panic button just yet.

There is an old saying, that folks "vote with their feet" and so there are reasons why the other league had no support. I suspect the CAPE league will be managed a little more fairly than the previous ones. GL-HF at your arena matches.

Spoken like the true elitist. Lets just ignore the fact that the CU channels moderators are some of the most experienced veteran players in the game. Cherry, CritikalCat, Myrmadon, Marut,Steel Dominator, Bud et.al. are just as knowing about the game as the mods at BMT....the difference is, CU mods are not so self-important as to silence their own members for discussing "unapproved" aspects of the game.

Both channels are at max capacity for a reason; your supposition that the members at BMT know how to "really" play the game and the members at CU are just mindless rabble just shows you to be the elitist Thought Policeman I always knew you were. Period.
  20. 1= Odins Reavers was a small, all-arcane SG I managed with a friend of mine, but then he left the game suddenly...

2= Protectors of Neverland. I was happy to help manage this leading SG off and on for several years, they taught me a lot of what I know about the game.

3= Stryke Force. I was a division head there as well, but Stryker eventually "relieved" me of command, as I only invited quality players rather than fill up the roster with newb kids...

4= the Earthguard. Happily, I have also made friends with Marut and the other mature members of this relaxed SG...

5= in between, I have maintained my own storage SG with a very nice base; I only invite a few select, trusted friends to be members here.

...and that about cover it, 63 months worth of fighting evil in the city.
  21. I don't mind having 3 days off from work.
  22. I had suspected that there was basically no option there, oh well, thanks to all who have replied.
