Quote:Ugh, I'm starting to hate that "psi damage is x's weakness", because it's practically everything's weakness. Especially armor sets.Outright no on the Psi resistance. Psychic damage is supposed to be Sonic's main weakness. This would be a huge, uncalled for buff to the set.
- Regen (almost always attached to -rech, Regen's bane, and new-MoG still doesn't aid against Psi)
- Invuln
- Granite
- Ice
- Energy Aura
- SR (when it's non-positional)
- Shields (same as SR)
- Fiery Aura
Leaving Willpower, Elec Armor, Dark Armor, and non-Granite Stone as the only four armor sets that have protection against psi attacks.
Psi is far, far too common of a "this set's weakness" in this game. -
It has been mentioned, and I believe is considered WAI. Since Mesmerize is a (pretty good) damaging power, it picks up the Interface procs. If you want the bonus damage, you'll have to give up the sleep from Mesmerize, if you want the sleep, you'll need to pick a different Interface.

Quote:The thing is, at its heart, it is still a respec trial. And yes, you and I have a chunk of vetspecs, and usually have the freespec lying around, or could even grab one off the market or the store, but not everyone has the funds for the latter two, or has been around long enough for even the first vetspec, and might have a gimped-as-heck build to do it with.At some point when we all were not as powerful and strategy hadn't evolved the long waits between waves helped us clean up the mobs and hopefully recover health and end before the next arrived.. NOW it 1 minute of fighting followed by 4, 5 or even more minutes of BSing to fill the time.
Cut the wait times and let us finish the thing. Who cares how long we stay inside?
Also, the long spawn times have kept the reward merits for the nukespec trials artificially high, since they impose an absolute minimum time on it.
To show you what I mean:
Code:Level Range: Hero: Villain: ============================= 24 - 33 27 merits 14 merits 34 - 44 20 merits 14 merits 45 - 50 20 merits 15 merits

The changes aren't "slight". Having done brutes both before and after, on teams with doms/trollers, the difference is night and day. With the new fury, I can go in after the AoE control and still get a good chunk of fury. And that's with no one attacking me. Not to mention the changed fury decay means that you don't drop much at all between groups. Ice/Ice would have zero problems maintaining 75% fury, like any other set (the new setup makes it hard to maintain any fury above about that, but you can still spike there).
-
My want list for proliferation is still this:
1) Dark Miasma for Controllers
2) Controllers: Dark Miasma
3) Controllers getting Dark Miasma
4) Ice Melee/Ice Armor for Scrappers (and Brutes, because the new version of fury means JayboH is wrong)
5) Dark Miasma going to Controllers -
Valid. They also run out, and I don't know how other people's RNG luck is, but I've had a tray full of 2 of every insp but the one I needed far too often. Like on my Dark/SS tanker on one of her badly-timed Rage crashes, not having a blue, or the ability to make one.

Quote:I'd rather burn a power selection than keep burning inf on Lucks. Especially with the fact that MoG is a nice place to throw an LotG, doesn't need much slotting at all, and you have power selections to spare (especially if you don't grab a travel power and the rez, which becomes Boxing/Kick, Tough, Weave).Entitled to your opinion, but I still disagree. MOG is situational as you've indicated. The alpha-strike lasts what....a few seconds? Pop a couple of lucks and you saved yourself a power selection and have it available to you for the cost of 100 inf minus the side effects.
IMO obviously. YMMV. -
I'm running (as soon as it gets back from warranty repair for the sole problem it has) an Asus G53-Jw, with a nVidia GTX 460M and an i7, which lets me run UM easy, and it looks gorgeous.
As for the one problem, well, the power cord is placed dead-center on the right side of the laptop. Which is the absolutely most boneheaded engineering move I've ever seen Asus make, especially for a gaming laptop. -
I didn't even think about Elec Melee.

Quote:Dark Melee/Elec Armor/Body Mastery scrapper: Dark Consumption (frequently used, and multiple targets to check), Power Sink, Power Surge, Lightning Field, Stamina, Physical Perfection. 6 places to put it (not that I'd do most of them).t is ALSO not affected by the rule of 5, since it is a proc and not a bonus. If you have 6 of them on your character they will all function. (However, I don't think any powerset combination in the game will let you slot that many) A WP brute with Energy Mastery can slot 4 that will always function, I think that's the most any build can slot that would be useful. Technically you can slot 5 on it, but the 5th would only work when you use your rez.

Quote:One: Doctor Who quotes are always appropriate.A team I was on decided to liven up an LGTF by speaking only in movie quotes. To take it one step further, key words were placed by the word "Rikti."
<snip>
(chasing down various Rikti)
"This is my Rikti-wikti detector. Goes "ding" when there's stuff."
<snip>
Keep in mind the LGTF went just about an hour and fifteen minutes. Unreal how long we were able to sustain this.

Two: I'm surprised no one did "You want the Rikti? YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE RIKTI!"
And now I'm tempted to do one with just song titles. Or lyrics. -
There's a world of peaceful Oranbegans in one of the Portal missions. Of course, everyone hates it because it's the 20-rescue against Malta, but it's one I've created characters from.

Quote:Yup! Have your filtered water!Oregon Trail ?
I have not actually played it* but it is mentioned surprisingly often on the internet.
The joke is that every third-grader who played it (it was new when I was around that age) eventually had their party die of dysentery. The Facebook version is nothing like it.
Quote:* I have played the soviet union "version", but it was probably different in many details -
As the player of "a small adorable fox", I'm surprised no one mentioned the most infamous video game villain of all time. Dysentery. Clean, filtered water for whoever gets the reference.

Quote:Gingko Biloba is supposed to be good for the memory.I've forgotten my old account name. Tried hard to remember it but to no avail. Anyone any suggestions? (And please don't mention drinking less).
In all seriousness, if you can't remember your account name, if you can remember your PlayNC Master Account name, you can find it there. Otherwise, you can contact customer support with a serial code you had applied to your account (e.g. box version of the game) or other identifying information. -
Now it's (From Hide) BU -> CS -> Placate -> BU -> AS?

Belladonna Vetrano and Paolo Martino (Wretch) have both showed up already in the resistance storyline. BV is a high ranking resistance officer (who leans toward the warden side) and Paolo is a Praetorian officer who is feeding information to the resistance.

Quote:It's psuedopets now. When Elec Melee first started and it granted a power to the target, confusing the target caused the jumps to switch to hitting your own teammates. This is common among ALL powers which summon a psedopet at the target's location (eg, Transfusion), as well as chain attack powers (more generally, powers which grant a power to the target, but non-chain powers which do that are generally debuffs, so it doesn't matter).
The way chain attacks work is that the target is given a power, which will then lance out to attack nearby allies, etc. But if the original target is dead, there's no critter for that temporary power to come from, so nothing happens. AFAIK, there is no solution to that problem using the current mechanics for chain powers. -
Quote:You're making a horrible point by assuming that people always run the same way. Do you always go out and do things with random people? Because you're assuming that the people who want to be able to do something with just friends only ever do so. Which isn't true, just like the vast majority of absolutes (not using the ironic version normally used).No. My point has been made. It's simply not a point you wish to accept, so you are doing your best to ignore and trivialize it.
That's okay though. Watching someone put their hands over their ears and shout "Not listening!" is always amusing.
Depending on someone's mood they may want to run a Lambda with their SG (go catch a flick with a group of friends), run it with random people (go out to the club and meet people), or even just solo stuff (sit at home and watch Doctor Who). You're making this a false all-or-nothing dichotomy, Hyperstrike. -
Way to miss the point of the whole thread so far. Everyone knows this, but not everyone wants to run with 15/23 other people, they want to run with some fewer number.

On more thought, perhaps a variant on free-form, where you can select types of sets to create your own AT ala carte. All would be required to take at least one attacking type (control, assault, blast, melee), and would have the addition of buff/debuff and armor for their other set. Secondary and primary would be set by the player, and AT mods would be set algorithmically, and a variety of inherents would be available with certain caveats, limits to prevent absolute brokenness like full-power containment on blast/contol. Obviously, this would have to be implemented from the get-go, with lots of testing by players who are known to break things wide open and would be willing to provide feedback on how to keep power within acceptable bounds (both high and low).

Quote:And people who want to team with specific people for whatever reasons shouldn't be forced to take on more people. The pendulum swings both ways there.I hope such a feature is never implemented as it is bad for the game's overall health. People who want to team should never be prevented from doing so.
Quote:And kicking people from your team just because they joined the LGF Queue and ended up on your team? Are you really that mean and elitist? I thought better of you than that, but I guess I was wrong. -
Quote:No, I want to team with specific people because I play this game to play with my girlfriend and with my friends. Yes, I could just hop on the queue, but if the LFG queue broke teams apart and reformed them randomly, and I ended up on a separate league from my gf (when we're planning on doing stuff together), I'd probably drop immediately, because I wanted to do it with someone specific. Taking team control away from the players is always a horrid idea on its face. And my preferred solution would be that LFG dissolves any group that enqueues, and assembles new leagues from the individuals in the queue. In other words, that premaking leagues would be completely impossible, and hopefully people would just stop trying and start enqueueing individually and rolling with whatever team results.
Because honest to heaven you guys, any random assembly of 8+ level 50 characters in this game is going to be incredibly powerful, and besides the LFG tool could be enhanced to try to build balanced teams that include multi-run veterans if only it were allowed to pick and choose from whoever happened to be enqueued at the time. -
I'm not going to respond specifically to anyone in this thread, just because it's gotten way too heated, but let's say they later add the LFG functionality to the TFs already in game, and you wanted to run a 3-person Posi, but now had to go through the turnstile. And while you're queued up for it, someone else gets thrown in? I know I, personally, would be extremely miffed by this. Up until this point, the devs have repeatedly affirmed through actions (like giving us the kick button, allowing us to leave teams we don't like, etc.) that we never have to team with people we don't like. Now with the LFG system throwing people into your league (which I consider an extension of teaming), it's a complete about-face.
Additionally, let's say this group was going for an MoBAF run, and stuck with 16 because that's the number of people they knew who were down for it. And let's say this 17th person doesn't know it, and begins before the others get a chance to stop them (not saying the OP did this), deactivating the turrets. Then where does this balance?
But quite simply, my objection to the idea of not being able to lock down leagues for the BAF is that sometimes I only want to run with people I know, and just because I can't find 23 others at the same time doesn't mean I should have someone forced onto a team of friends.
