Quote:Everything you say is your opinion on how YOU THINK the game lore operates. The game doesn't actually ever say that ghosts do or do not have a natural set of powers. You are attempting to force IRL "rules" (opinion) on a game with teleportation and shooting fireballs. IRL "rules" don't have very firm standing here.My point here is that each ghost that actually has powers is a unique creature which came into being in its own unique way. They can be grouped together by some of their characteristics, yes, but they aren't at all related to each other in any way that would call them a species.
If the player decides their ghost gets their powers from 'being a ghost' (e.g. Natural), then THE PLAYER gets to decide what powers their ghost has, naturally, as a part of being a ghost. (Sonic and Dark powers seem to be a common theme, even in ghost NPCs in the game.) -
No word either way, other than the general "they'd like every applicable set to be proliferated eventually".

Quote:This.I'd suggest coming up with either a reason for how the character came back, or more appropriately, what the ghost draws his power from. For Ghost Widow, she draws power from the magic of being dead. For my Spirit of Light, he draws power from the magic sword to which his soul was bound. For my Emillia, her spirit occupies a scientifically-created super-soldier body. That sort of thing. "Origin" typically refers to the origin of your powers more so than your characters, so I'd suggest sitting down and figuring out exactly what those powers are.
Origin in this game is the origin of the character's powers, not the character's life (or lack thereof). What a ghost is doesn't matter; what powers they're using, and how/why they manifest...that's what matters.
A ghost using innate abilities to all ghosts would be Natural (you, the player, gets to decide what powers your ghost has naturally; the game never restricts powers of ghosts). A ghost using a magic charm or spell or something would be Magic. A ghost possessing a high-tech suit would be Technology. Science could have been used to give the ghost powers, so I guess that would work there. I don't really know how to make Mutation work with ghosts. Ghosts don't evolve, spontaneously or over time, so Mutation seems to be out. -
I24 pretty much solves this issue. The Column and the Council have staked claim to certain places so there's more of one of them in various spots. There's still a lot of overlap, but they've cleaned it up a little.

Instead of being miss/mister cranky pants, you could have said something like "Superior Conditioning is X, and this information is found in game by doing Y or Z."
Then people wouldn't all up in your grill about it, and you wouldn't be miss/mister cranky pants, *AND* you would *TEACH* the OP how to do something s/he may not have known how to do, which means fewer questions you regard as "stupid and lazy". -
"Savage" and "insane" I will give you, but the rest of those green words completely alter the mental vision I have of the place.
"It was a grotto" does not have the same mental image of a twilit grotto. "A world of mystery and suggestion" does not conjure up the same feeling as with the adjectives. "A world of mystery and suggestion" sounds GOOD... put those adjectives back in there and you KNOW it's not good! -
It's a good thing this game is F2P and you can post in four of the main subforums!
Though I swear the only reason I'm still subbing right now is full forum access... *slaps inner elbow* Come to mama! Juice me up! Mama needs her some forum action! -

I might have scared one or both of the cats as well. -
I barely play the game right now. I've constantly been hooked by some new shiny game in the last year or so (currently SERIOUSLY hooked on some Lovecraftian horror, look up Agge sometime!). I figure a month or two after GW2 comes out, I'll settle back in lovingly with my BFF, City. Then WildStar will come out and I'll step away for a while again, but I'll always be back. City is my BFF.

One thing I did forget to note, it has somewhat-longer recharge times similar to Time Manipulation which also has longer recharge times, but that means the powers are slightly more effective than they would otherwise be with lower recharge times.

Quote:Unless they have an Invention license, they can't use the base empowerment buffs: they're built from Invention salvage. You don't get Invention salvage without an Invention license (temporary or permanent or VIP).Break frees negate knockback as well as other mezzes for the duration of thir effects.
And like you say, the base empowerment buff exists (which incentivizes supergroups, a good thing.)
So any clued up or informed f2p player can get around knockback with a bit of preparation.
A F2Per without an Invention license has literally three options to get around knockback: play a power set with KB protection, duo with someone who has a KB protection buff, or carry nothing but breakfrees, ever. -
Here's the wiki page on it: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Nature_Affinity
City of Data hasn't been updated with beta information yet so real numbers will have to come from typing the [Power Name] in game.
Nature Affinity will do well with pretty much anything, as it's well-rounded with buffs, debuffs, heals, and an absorb shield that's fairly easily replenishable.
It will do really well with another Nature Affinity character, to be honest. I'm trying to drag my fiance back to the game to play a pair. -
You should probably note this stuff in the post where you make an incomplete build instead of letting someone (like the OP, not just "me, average reader") assume you just did it wrong. lol
-
Fireheart, you have no damage whatsoever slotted into your attacks. It's also incomplete.

Using Spectral Interface common as an example -
Five ticks of .125*[melee tempdamage]. Clicking on the melee tempdamage link goes to a page that says the amount of damage it does at 1. So the attribute at 50 is 107.09. Soooo...
.125 * 107.09 = ~13.39 ... five ticks of 13.39 = 66.95.
This can stack up to four times, 66.95 * 4 = 267.8. -

Open the Paragon Rewards screen, found by clicking this symbol on the character list or when in the game:
...or by selecting Paragon Rewards in the menu when logged into a character.
How many reward tokens does it say you have? -

I think perhaps you left some stuff out of your post. I think you mean you're stuck at the background download of stage two and want help, but this is a guessing game since your post contains five words.
Close out of the game to your desktop. Start the launcher. Right-click "City of Heroes" on the left and select 'download' or 'repair' (I forget the term it uses when the game isn't fully downloaded).
Don't launch the game.
The launcher runs on the Akamai distribution network. The backgrounder does not. The backgrounder sucks monkeys. -
Quote:Since you're F2P, it doesn't matter because the only places you need IOs to be competitive are PVP (a joke) and Incarnates (not available to F2P). Later on, if you want to get into the high-end F2P stuff like Hami Raids and MoSTF or whatever, you can buy a month of IO license for two bucks and become rather beastly with either one.Since you're F2P I'd suggest Energy Aura since you won't be able to use IOs.
Pick whichever. On SOs, it's all flavor. Both are good sets. -
The more damage your team does to an enemy, the more shared XP you get out of it. So if you've got multiple leagues, you're stealing XP from each other.
Instead of focusing on one dude at a time, tab/attack/tab/attack/tab/attack/tab/attack to tag as many dudes as possible to spread out your 'territory'.
