In any case, I'm not disagreeing with the latter half of your...diagnosis, but then I think pretty much everyone can benefit greatly from doing some therapy.
I didn't declare anything except the facts of the case: The guy has self-destructive behaviors of over-aggressiveness, lack of compassion, delusions of grandeur (he lied about his importance and connections over and over again), and the seeming inability to display real remorse. The people he calls upon as character references are quick to make it clear in the public forum that they not only disavow him, but they had in the past flagged him as someone unprofessional because of inappropriate behavior. So, this wasn't just a 'bad day' for him. It's a lifestyle.

Those facts *seem* to fit two common categories of mental illness. I *recommend* professional evaluation to see if it is the case of these two diagnoses or some other reason (e.g., drug use).

Yes, everyone can benefit from growth counseling. However, this guy *seems* to have a problem that's more deep seated than lack of interpersonal skills which is likely, though not necessarily, the result of a mental illness. If such is diagnosed by a clinical psychologist, then that would require more than some growth counseling or an anger management course. That would require psychotherapy by a clinical counselor and maybe even some drug therapy.

Many people with undiagnosed mental illness function in society until a crisis happens and their inability to cope make them seek help, or it's mandated by a court order because they've gotten into a lot of trouble or they've endangered themselves or others.

In RL, I'm the one who deals with these who are in crisis and perform the triage to temporarily stabilize them and get them to the appropriate professional help they need for long term care.

People with real mental illness usually don't show up at a psychiatrist's door to check whether they have a mental illness or not. They are often encouraged, or persuaded, or in some cases, mandated to go for evaluation. That only happens when people like me can suspect there's something wrong and make that recommendation for evaluation.

And given what I've seen so far... there's enough evidence to make that recommendation. People simply having a 'bad day' don't act so professionally self-destructive over a period of time like he did.
  2. Null should show up in everyone's contact window like the two Tip-Explainer contacts, or the radio/newspaper.
  3. You can also use /playernote to write notes for yourself. If the 'player name' is not a valid name, a note is still created. So, you can create notes for yourself.

E.g, I use /playernote timer to keep track of when my toons did the SSA to keep track of the 7 day cooldown on the Alignment Merit reward. Just be aware that when you call up a note and it's blank... scroll up - the info is still there.

In RL, I am in a position in which I make recommendations and referrals for professional psychiatric evaluation. You don't do that unless you have an inkling that something is amiss and what the tells are to pursue.

But, since this is the Internet, no one should believe that.
  5. My bad, I forgot the Packs were on Beta.

But, at around the same time, they were removed from the Auction House on Live.
  6. And since they're not even officially realeased in Beta yet... a lot of the info is very much subject to change as they continue their own internal testing.

Sad home life doesn't usually lead to delusions of grandeur and creative use of reality. His non-apology shows no real remorse, but the practiced surrender of someone who has learned that he better start saying stuff that sounds like "I'm sorry" or things will really turn bad.

Such lack of being able to read human emotions or to engage in rational conversation or have compassion or a conscience is typical of a manic state of a bipolar disorder or a borderline personality disorder (and self-medicating hormonal exercise regimes surely don't help the situation). He should definitely seek professional help for a diagnosis and then the therapy needed to learn to cope with whatever it is he's suffering from.

    Lore question.

I used to fight Knives of Artemis like you until I took a caltrop inna foot.
  9. When I was Beta-ing dual pistols, the only time I was able to get piercing rounds to hit more than one target is with the Cimerorans lined up on the castle wall.

4.a. If it is a little more difficult occasionally (especially if it hammers on the weakness of a particular AT or powerset), that's OK cause we gave them inspirations and Shivans.

Slotting for Fear only gains you longer Fear Duration which winds up being pretty useless when AoE attacks abound. The Fear is useful to put a few out of the fight while you follow up with more control or attacks.

Definitely slot for the -ToHit. That's always useful especially with foes that debuff your Defense; the -ToHit provides safety that they can't counter (except for AVs).

Now, see, calling me a 'prude' is personalizing the issue. You are 'calling me a name' rather than simply talking about the content of claims. It would be as if I were to point out that your overreacting multi-post prong of attack culminating in name-calling makes you a 'jerk.' But I wouldn't do that.

Seriously, wake me up when we get there.
It's right after wasting time moaning about time wasters.

Check out this thread, Common Solutions & Posting Guidelines

Then post the results of these two programs:

    • CoH Helper - it will show us basic computer settings and your CoH configuration.
    • HijackThis - it will show us what's running on your computer concurrently with CoH. Click on "Do a system Scan and save a logfile." It will automatically open up Notepad and put the info there. Make sure Wordwrap is off in Notepad (Format > Wordwrap unchecked) before you cut and paste here.

I just watched that again and I still cried.

    Spoiler alert:

    The titles are computerized, too!

    1. Farm Alignment Merits. For every 2 you get, you get a guaranteed 100 million INF profit by buying and crafting a Luck of the Gambler+Recharge or Numina's +Rech/Rec or Miracle+Rec (each at their lowest level) and selling them on the Market. Some prefer to use 1 A-Merit for a Gold Roll for recipes... but I prefer the guaranteed sale.

So, do the new Signature Story Arc as they come out and then each week, do the first SSA twice: Once for the A-Merit, the second for the regular Merits (20 Merits in 8 minutes is worth it).

Run the alignment Tips every day and then the Alignment Mission every other day for an Alignment Merit every other day.

Farm for Regular Merits to convert to A-Merits once a day. Best source is the two Incarnate TFs which together can be done in an hour and give 80 Merits since mostly everyone will be +3 Incarnates and can crush what used to be difficult TFs. Also do the WST for the free bonus Merits.

    2. Farm Empyrean Merits. Do a handful of Incarnate Trials daily for a handful of Empyrean Merits. Don't waste your time running Speed BAFs or Lambdas more than once per day... they're one a daily Emp cool down. MoMs and Keyes are now unlikely to fail, and each give 2 Emps and are relatively quick, so, always shoot for them. In a few weeks you'll have enough to buy one of the PvP Recipes to sell for 2 billion INF.
  18. My laptop has a HD 4670 and am using the 10.7 Catalyst driver. CoH keeps telling me I'm using an old driver, but I ain't 'fixing' what ain't broken.
  19. Grey numbers being turned off need to get in line behind bright, flashy animations from negligible buffs.

Was anyone else aware of this change, and was it announced at some time?
It was never announced, so, more than likely a bug, so, please /bug it.
