Where to bask in the night?

Some zones are really beautiful ...

For example, the sunset at Striga's volcano looks really nice.

In which zone does night look best? Which map has the most beautiful starry night sky, the nicest view, or something else?

Instinct tells me that Cimerora should have a good night sky, possibly followed by Croatoa, then maybe the far reaches of Peregrine and Talos Islands. Away from civilization, anyway. Of course the War Walls can be a problem.

'I don't like the look of it at all,' said the King: 'however, it may kiss my hand if it likes.'
'I'd rather not,' the Cat remarked.
'Don't be impertinent,' said the King, 'and don't look at me like that!' He got behind Alice as he spoke.
'A cat may look at a king,' said Alice.

First Ward.

Bah, I should have thought of that.

You need to get your instinct checked, Cimerora doesn't have a night cycle, its always day, even during the Halloween event.

As for beautiful night scenes, check out Imperial City. That is my favorite.

Note that I said it "should".

I need the Going Rogue system to go there, right? Or was it something else?

As a VIP, you have it.

Yes; if you don't have it already, I think it can be purchased in the Market. I'm honestly not sure WHAT you have to buy there to get access though...

*EDIT: Oh, derp, you're VIP. Take your toon to Pocket D and use the Praetorian portal just off the dance floor to get to Studio 55.

Aneko is correct, VIPs already have access as Going Rogue was rolled into the base subscription package when Freedom launched.

Premium players would possibly need to purchase Praetoria access through the market. However, that license is to create a Praetorian. It's possible that to visit Praetoria you wouldn't need the license. Including First Ward (that license purchase is just to allow you to get missions there, you should be able to access it without the license).

As soon as my meal is out of the over I'll test it on my Premium account and report back.

EDIT: Ok. Logged onto my Premium account and took a character to First Ward with no problems. Then went back through the Underground to get to Imperial City with no problems. I then went through Studio 55 to go back to Pocket D. The Premium account didn't purchase GR prior to Freedom and has purchased 0 licenses through the Market.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Black Pebble is my new hero.

Thank you all for your help. The Praetorian zones are really beautiful.

The first sunset that really caught my eye was way back on my first character. My brother and I had entered Talos for the first time, coming in via the Skyway gate, and we were doing some exploration. Both of us being newbs didn't have any travel powers yet, so we were just jogging. It was during our jog up the long over-water highway towards the main island of Talos that the sky was becoming very orangy-red while off in the distance, the towers of Talos were faintly rendered. It brought to mind a melancholy post-apocalyptic feeling where we were the only ones left around in the world.

Teams are the number one killer of soloists.

Oddly enough, sunsets are nice in Crey's Folly too, just when you enter the zone, staring down the west avenue with all the industrial buildings in the distance. I wouldn't necessarily BASK there, but yeah, the fumes in the air make particularly lovely sunsets.

Don't forget to turn off Depth of Field in your advanced graphics settings, so that you can actually see the stars!

Haven't done a sunset basking in a while...

I particularly liked going to the top of the arena in Port Oakes and watch the sun set over Mount Diablo, but that's just me.

I'm gonna have to go huntin' for cool spots, and also check out First Ward and Praetoria as mentioned.

Probably Nerva and Striga maybe too?
